Guriya laughed and turned back to get some more food from the kitchens and bring it out. "Busy night," she mumbled. ~~~ Shereae blushed at R'lan's compliment. "Thank you, m'Lord." He began to lead her to the Helios table. "R'lan, I'm not sure I belong there. 'Tis not fitting for one of my rank!" And the riders there are crazy, she thought, though the sentiment didn't escape her mouth. ~~~ "Indeed," T'den said, getting up to join L'dar. Feeling his hand on his back, he smiled and allowed himself to be propelled to the dance floor. When they arrived, he held his hands out for the bluerider to take. The tune was a livlier one.

“Nonsense, rank has nothing to do with it… I think you just want an excuse to be rid of me.” R’lan arched an eyebrow, turning his face toward the young redhead. “Is that the case?” The brown rider didn’t stop, nor did her remove his hand from Shereae’s back… he was accustomed to getting what he wanted, one way or the other he always got what he wanted. They young redhair was a challange.
~~~~~~~~
L’dar, familer with the tune and step, lead off taking the green rider’s hands in his own. It really was a lively reel. He couldn’t get over the man’s full lips, ‘Why hadn’t I noticed before this?”
Kami decided then that she liked his smile, it had an open charm about it. Generaly men were either dumb as rocks or they wanted something from you. She also noticed something else, this was the first time she'd been genuinely intrested in a man. Temporary partners were one thing, they kept her bed warm and she'd never missed any of them. This however, he certainly wasn't one of those men assuredly. Kami watched as he got that far away look in his eyes and knew his was talking to Viderieth.
That rascal was no doubt giving his rider some sort of advice and she grinned. He really did look like a little boy with that dumb smile on his face but a weird feeling in her stomach let her know she was grinning the same way. Just like a lovesick couple at a gather, she skipped a beat. Oh dear they were at a feast, that was as close to a gather as the Weyr got. Luckily the next song started and she found herself swept away in the music again. Music always did that for her, while you were playing or dancing there was no time for thinking, just time for doing. Sometimes everything else worked like that, but generaly life seemed to give her too much time to think and that just got her in trouble most of the time.
K'ton nodded dutifully, "I don't think i could live wihout flying. Once you start its hard to stop." He smiled, thinking about the way it felt when he and his brown were flying throuhg the air, catching spiral of rising air and darting through the currents in a perfectly coordianted dance.
He took a sip of juice, in consideration for her not drinking wine, as she spoke, "Well, nervous or not, i'm sure you'll graduate. You're a Gold rider, after all," He offered. "Plus, you can't ever really learn anything unless you mess up sometimes. Believe me, i know," He laughed for moment, eyes twinkling. You and i both. Well, now that we're in a respectable wing liek Duro, we haven't been so bad, have we? Nah, we're doing good.
"I believe you're a good girl, and i can tell the difference between you and a girl like Revonna." Revonna was quite alluring in away, but then again, she was almot too dangerous. He shook his head, "No, i'm not sure that came out right, i mean that although Revonna has more experience now, i wouldn't trust her to be a responsible Sr.Weyrewoman, but from what i've seen of you, i would turst you." He smiled, he blue green eyes meeting her brown ones for a second. She had nice eyes.
He grinned as juice spilled out of the pastry, sp maybe she was a little clutzy, but she looked kind of cute then. He shook his head, "I ate a bit earlier, and i'm not so hungry 'cause Nath fed earlier today, so i'll feel full for a while. On of the side effects of being bonded." He smiled, "Oh not that i'm argueing. It was some good fat wherrie." He grinned at her, and then stood up, grabbing her hand.
His eyes twinkled as the musicians sturck up a new song, a slower one, "C'mon," He then remembered his manners, "I mean," He bowed to her, "May i have this dance Safiya."
J'mie answered, "They look so young..." he let it end there, he had a look n his face that was almost akin to pain. He kept seeing himself and Celinde, looking like that, though perhaps he felt more comfortable with her than the two dancing now. He realy hated these feasts... Gavanth had stopped talking with the Queen for a moment, he could feel the anguish his rider felt. J'mie....The dragons words came out soothingly. He was worried. J'mie, though comforted, was not exactly feeling any different as he watched the dancers. He didn't care if anyone noticed his distant gaze. It was different than whne one was talking to a dragon... very different.
----------------------
Z'rion watched her face for a moment, the two of them really were quite the sight. He had better remember not to grin like this all the time, people would start to wonder about that. He wasn't going to let these new found feelings get in the way of being a good wingrider...not that the distraction was that bad but he wanted to prove himself like all newly graduated Weyrlings.
Shereae blushed as she was propelled along. "No, Dragonman, of course not. I just don't know if I am to be welcomed at a table of riders of such...fame," she finished lamely. This man was pushy, she thought, but he wouldn't be getting anything from her but a dance and maybe a few kisses. She slowed her walking, thinking that if she was going, she would in her own time. ~~~ T'den's heart was leaping in his chest as the bluerider took his hands and they began to dance. The allegro song picked up faster, and the greenrider smiled. This would be fun.
“Fame… ah yes… Helios. You mean infamous don’t you? We don’t bite… and your honor will not be tainted.” R’lan grinned, she wasn’t going to resist, but was she dragging her feet a bit? The brown rider only took his hand from her waist to relieve a passing drudge of wineskin and glasses, parting the sea of people as they made their way toward L’nou and E’mion.
~~~~~~~
It had been much too long since L’dar had thought of another in this way. He enjoyed the other man’s body close to his, the spicy clean sent of dragon and sweet sands. He lead T’den down the line of dancers, ‘Friends for so long…’
Zirath responded to his rider’s emotions with a sleepy voice, He has been a good friend to you…

The duo finally reached the table, and Shereae smiled as she took a cup of wine from her escort. "Why, thank you, Lord R'lan." Fall, if she was going to be at the Helios table, she might as well be smooth and cool. She sipped at the cup's rim, looking over the edge at the inhabitants of the table. It was, of course, full of dragonriders having good time. Too good of a good time, Shereae thought to herself. "Where do we sit, m'Lord?" ~~~ T'den was led around by L'dar, and nothing could ruin this moment. The greenrider had like his weyrsinger for some time now, though it was just now showing. "You're a good dancer," T'den told L'dar, smiling and nodding.

“Why right here Lady Shereae.” With a flourish the brown rider pulled back her chair, “E’mion… L’nuo.” R’lan gave a curious glance at the small boy next to the other brown rider, but shrugged it off. R’lan found his own seat close to the candidate, taking a sip of his wine.
~~~~ “It helps to have a good partner.” L’dar turned thoughtful as the music once again ended.
Shereae was seated, and she smiled coyly at the man when he sat down. "So, tell me about your Nylath, m'Lord." She sipped her drink, willing herself to keep it under control. She didn't need to lose herself this evening. ~~~ ((What say we postpone this till E posts?))
As the song slowed and came to a halt S’hon let Daine go, dropping his hands but not in a way that seemed he was flinching from the touch, although now that the music had stopped and he had let go his skin crawled. He would blame that on his distain for human contact but Mazbeth for one new differently.
It had been such a long, long time since he had done anything so intement as dance or even hold a person’s hand, (wile sober) the most he had done in the 14 turns since he had impressed was fight, touching and being touched in a way that would bring only pain. Even if his mind did not miss it, it was apparent by the new coat of Ice reformed where the other had melted, that his heart and his skin did.
S’hon looked the green rider up and down, scanning her with his good eye and seeing her in a different light, “your not a bad dancer…” Why don’t you try a slower song… stop it Maz. the bronze was cough slightly off guard, not expecting the Ice to reform so quickly, even if it wasn’t, was never, directed at him. S’hon himself didn’t know why he had gone back to being cold, he was not upset at Daine, far from it, but that was probably why in the end… he was upset at himself for not being upset with her…
E'mion sipped at his drink, swallowing quickly as he found R'lan sitting down with a new young lady. Typical. If E'mion had not flown with these men for nearly a decade he?d have truly wondered about them and their bedroom habits. As it was, E'mion learned enough not to even begin to think about it. L'nuo himself slammed his mug of wine down with a pout on his face as R'lan joined them once again.
?So not fair! He got a pretty redhead!? Standing up he looked around for a woman of his own in the crowed as the young boy besides him reached for the cup he had just vacated.
Watching the man stumble threw the crowed with amazing grace you'd not think possible of a man who had so much to drink as L'nuo had, E'mion was too late to snatch the cup away before the boy took a good long swallow and let out a small belch. Jumping at the sound, E'mion laughed as he reached for the cup taking it gently from the boy?s hands. ?That's enough of that for you.?
L'nuo managed to find the young lady he had stolen earlier and ducked beneath her arms and the two, much stronger ones holding them to come up in the middle of the pair. Smiling broadly, he wrapped his arms around the woman?s middle and started rocking his hips side to side in a beat that was completely off to the music. The man behind him was not impressed.
?Go get yer own woman!? he said grabbing L'nuo's shoulder and spinning him around.
?Now, now good sir. Its rude to interrupt a dance with such a lovely lady...? L'nuo said, his voice almost a pout as he tried to turn himself around to find the lady who had run off once again. It was L'nuo's good fortune that he had tripped, falling flat on his face as he turned as a fist the size of an axe came swinging past where his head had been...
At first, Safiya wasn't sure whether K'ton was trying to make her sound like a child in comparison to Revonna or less than the older Jr. Weyrwoman, but she gave him the benefit of the doubt until he finished. She knows what it is like to explain something that you're thinking and then for it to come out completely offensive when it wasn't meant to be that way at all. If he said nothing after that, then she most likely would have been offended, but luckily he caught himself.
She smiled graciously and shook her head. "No, I couldn't be. Can you imagine the Sr. Weyrwoman trying to have an important meeting and then suddenly falling to the ground because she tripped over her own feet? I would be their last choice." Quit feeling sorry for yourself. There's no reason for that when I keep on telling you that there's more than just what's on the surface. Believe in me at least if you cannot believe in yourself. The gold weyrling paused as she listened to her bonded's wise words.
That was true. She shouldn't have such self-doubt. People were supposed to be looking up to her, even with her flaws. No one was perfect. You're right, Mine. I'm sorry. Thank you for reminding me to believe in myself and you. That's more like it. Safiya laughed lightly and returned to K'ton, who was suddenly standing and reaching out his hand. A soft melody carried through the air that quieted the large party of guests, as if the night was coming to a close.
She smiled at his quick change in attitude from relaxed to formal. "Yes, thank you. I would much enjoy another dance with you." The weyrling rose from her seat and took small steps to reach the dance floor. This was not the time to trip over her dress. As long as she took small steps, she would be fine. Unsure of how he wanted to dance to this slow tune, she decided to instead wrap her arms around his neck and just rock back and forth while turning in a circle to the hidden beat.
She didn't even have to think about how to dance since it had been taught to her so young. To her, it was as easy as walking. Now that they had started dancing, she sighed in relaxation. It was so calm and peaceful here...or so it was at the moment. For just as she thought the night was a perfect feast, a fist had just been thrown at the nearby on the dance floor. Safiya was oblivious to it all still, although with her luck she would realize the fight far too late.
~~~
The song ended, and Daine couldn't help but think that she was sorry for it being over. As much as she could lie to herself and say that she just enjoyed the song, deep down she knows that dancing with S'hon was better than any dance she had done before. And at least for this one neither of them were drunk. This way it was controlled and memorable rather than making her have flashbacks to the previous night. Yes, this was much better than before.
She shifted uncomfortably as they both stood on the dance floor, waiting for something to be said. She hated uncomfortable moments! Yelling at everyone was so much easier. Daine sighed. That reminded her that she would have to speak to E'mion soon about her being Grounded. She had done as asked, and right now the greenrider would do anything to be in the sky with Wesayath again. It feels like turns since they had been in the air together, when in reality only a few sevendays have passed.
S'hon was the first to break the silence, and another close smile that looked more like a smirk curled onto her lips. "Same goes for you." The next song commenced, and a slow one at that. They should walk off the dance floor now. Not yet. I know you want to dance with him again, so if you're so proud then just tell him that since you both are already there, another dance wouldn't hurt. Daine growled. You planned this entire thing, didn't you? You and Mazbeth!
Wes let her rider's imagination take over instead though. Well, it wouldn't hurt to try. "The next song has started." She watched him to see if she could spot any reaction to her next statement. "We're already here, so let's squeeze in one more dance now before the end of the night." The words all slipped out, but once they had been said, she couldn't just take it back since she did want the dance. She was still in denial about it, but she would lighten up soon.

“He’s a big brown dolt. Lazy…” The brown rider took another long drink of wine, the grin on his face the only indication that he didn’t mean the words he said. “I’ll show him to you some…” R’lan’s words were interrupted as L’nuo stumbled from his seat. “Fall and Flame man, set back down.” The man’s clear blue eyes crinkled at the sides with worry. “E’mion aren’t you gonna stop him? He‘s goin‘ to get slaughtered.” The brown rider cringed as the first punch was thrown, he was ready to make it a fair fight.
~~~~~~~~~
Kyparla let out a gasp as she watched the big man throw a punch at L’nuo. “G’llahar do something.”
“I am doing something M’lady… I am getting you out of the way.” G’llahar grabbed her elbow and pulled her toward the head table, his eyes searching for A’zon and F’lor.
Shereae's lips pursed as she watched the fight commence in front of her. "I see," she mumbled. She didn't really approve of fighting, but she still wanted to meet R'lan's dragon. And he was very handsome, she didn't want to not be friends with him. "Does he need help, or something?" she asked. She was beginning to grow worried; the man the wingrider was fighting looked giant. And Shereae didn't want L'nuo's very handsome face ruined.
