((HG, Sorry about leaving partway through before. I had to dash. Do you want to play the B'leren line after they dance?))
L'kel smiled at Morelia, holding her close, "Well...there's no problem there then." He didn't think he would ever like the situation with the other men in Moerlia's life...but he wanted her, and they were part of the territory. "He seems like a pretty good guy anyways," He shrugged, deciding to leave it there for now.
He dipped her bak a little, showing off some of his classically, hold-trained dancing. He twirled her, speaking as they danced, "But, i hope your enjoying yourself. We can go see some of your other, old aquantainces after dancing if you'd like." He didn't really no many people here, so hewould let this be Morelia's night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mariska smiled and let herself be led to the floor. Shelifted the Wingleader's chin slightly, looking at his eyes for a moment, "Don't look so glum will you. No, show me those dancing steps you've been talking about." She was actually begining to hope Gavanth might fly Zramuth...she would love it to be Rohanoth, but the chances were slim. Despite his depressed modiness that J'mie often showed, he was sweet and nice to talk to. He'd be a good partner for Weyr duties. But, she didn't think about those things much...Zramuth would of course, be rising in not too many sevendays, but until then, he was living in the now.
Zramuth turned her shimerring eyes skyward, glowing at the Bronzes compliment. Good. How about to that little tree over there." She projected the picture into his head. Of course, it wasn't a little tree, it just looked liek a spec because they were far away. Ready, set, go! She said, not really giving Gavant ha chance to set off, laughing draconically as she sped away with a cheating head start. She turned her neck around to the look at the desta dragon for a second. C'mon, c'mon...if you can't catch me now, will you ever? And she turned on tail and began speeding through the night.
(no worries....as for B'leren I really ought to make him into a full blown character but I wouldn't know which wing to put him in...He can't be a Desta cause hes nothing like them...I wouldn't mind him creating trouble for Morelia though... )
Morelia didn't want hime to doubt her. "Ahh, well I would much rather spend the whole night dancing with you. I hate the gossip that goes on at these feasts...its almost as bad as Lady holders at a Gather." Then upon thinking about it...."Actually it might be worse depending on who is doing the gossiping."
She did think another glass of red would suit her fine after this dance. Her limber body easily gave in to his lead on the dancing She wasn't too ba a dancer herself. Most Weyrbrats were trained to do and Weyrlings usually recieved some lessons to keep them from making a fool of themselves at functions like these.
-----------------------------
B'leren entered the Weyrhall, beautiful woman in tow. He wandered down to one of the open seats near some of his wingmates. B'leren did not have any idea Morelia would be at this feast and so ahd not thought about her for a sinlge moment. His eyes instead intent on the lovely woman next to him. He was in the middle of eating some of teh feast when he looked up to see her dancing...at which cpoint he nearly choked. A stray hair fell in his face as he hurried to push it back with his hand.
'why is she here!' He thought to himself angrily. The woman certainly knew how to ruin his night...well perhaps he would ignore her... The way she was dancing he couldn't do that. Suddenly remembering that she was no longer his to bed, his blue eyes grew dark... he would see about that. ---------------------------
J'mie gave her the weakest smile but it was no better as it made him look like he was in more emotional pain than he was before. "I'm sorry... Its not a good night. I can dance just as well as anyone else Lady MAriska. However since you need proof..." He gently pulled her to the dance floor. He properly positioned himself and began to lead her in the rather fast paced dance.
Gavanth awaited her signal to go and then lifted into the air in a powerful leap. He did not wear himself out by spritning to quickly after her, but he did slowly increase his pace as he got closer and closer to the tree. She was still ahead of him but he was soon gaining on her. Do you wish to be caught? Gavanth's reply was probably not what she expected to hear but it was what he would normally say.
((sounds good...mebe that wing thta has like no one in it...Luna mebe?))
L'kel grinned and moved them fluidly into a trickier step in a rotational path. He kept his eyes on her though, not his feet. That had been the first rule he had been given by his intructors when he had learned to dance, never look down. He smiled at her comment. He was always a little out of the loop on gossip and such, although he heard more whispers now that he was with Morelia.
As the song came to a close he put an arm around the greenriders waist. "Now let me guess...you'd like a glass of wine?" He asked, half smiling. They were both usually up for some good red, occasionally a light white.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Alright then, lets give it a try," The Jr.Weyrwoman whispered as she was whisked into the dance. The music was fast and she liked that. She let J'mie lead but she did her part. They were good together, quite good. "Is that all you got?" She asked, wondering if he might try somethign a little more daring. She certainly hoped so.
Zramuth smiled, well, if a dragon could smiled than she did. She thought about it. If you catch me, than i wanted it. It meant two things. She would becaught only by those she wanted to, and if by some way he caught her by his own speed and skill, than he deserved her. Either way, she one. She neared the tree and looped around it in a tight circle, wings folded against her shimmering body. It was into the second half and she flew even faster than before. She was having fun, it wasn't often that she gotten to fly so boundlessly, and she enjoyed it.

Monara tried to stem her giggle but it didn't work. Seeing T'mar and then hearing sucha ridiculously high voice coming from him was just plain funny. "Ohh....She's well and all. Jith took a while to eat and fall to sleep. I hope it doesn't become a habit of hers." Though Monara woudn't care. She already cherished the green with all of her heart and soul. Sitting down Monar turned her attention to T'mor. "What did you Impress. Sorry for asking I was out of it for most of the time...I still am I think." She giggled again. Wow what a change. Kye flew in over the heads of some people and rested on the table infront of her. He had become quite suddenly fat. "Where did you go? Look at you! How am I supposed to carry you around?" Monar just rolled her eyes as the brown flit crooned and began to slowly preen himself, he knew Monara was in a good mood. ``````````````````````` Rylene sqeaked when her world suddenly went dark. For a moment she was lost, and then she heard a very high unrecgonizable voice talking. "Um....Mom? Zylaera?" Rylene grinned. Her mood had slowly been Improving as she had advanced towards T'mor. Ryleen heard Monara talking and turned to respond, looking the fool with someones hands drapped over her eyes. 'Well I' sure she is just tired from the hatching. Not All baby dragons are always full of hunger." She smiled in Monara's direction and then thought it wise to think upon who this person blinding her might be. She had a pretty good guess or idea too. "Well...I bet......T'mar?" He was always joking around. 'What did he Impress again...oh right a brown good for him' She waited thinking silently for the persons answer.

T’mar snickered quietly as she missed the first few guesses only to snicker louder when she moved, his hands still over her eyes to talk to the other girl. But she guessed right after that and he though his hands off of her, “how did you know?” but he was just playing as he put his hands on his hips and scrutinized her playfully, “it was the voice wasn’t it… hmm I’ll have to work on that.”
But T’mor had come up then smiling as he rarely did and taking his usual place beside his friend. He didn’t say anything to the girls but waved happily. He didn’t keep his eyes on them must longer though continuing to scan the hall as more and more people came in, at this rate he would never find her…”who are you looking for?” he flinched in surprises rubbing the back of his neck and smiling guiltily, he should have known he couldn’t hide anything from T’mar.
He didn’t say anything though and he didn’t have too as the new brown rider said only, “Oh… is she supposed to be here?” T’mor nodded and T’mar shrugged, “well we won’t be able to find her from down here.” They where the some of the shortest people if not the shortest people in the hall, appearing to be only 10 turns at best and even then they would be small 10 turn olds. T’mar looked around thoughtfully for a moment before snapping his fingers. “Here!” and without waiting for T’mor to protest he stepped onto one of the benches and then the table pulling T’mor along with him. Once up there he sighed again, “well I don’t know what she looks like so you look around I have to talk to Rylene
With that he jumped back onto the bench squatting down so he was the girls height without getting all the way down. “I have a present for you,” his small hand dove into his pocket, bighting his tong in concentration as he dug for the shell. Pulling it out with an “Ah ha!” he held it out for Rylene. It was the shell he had found on their trip to the beach and inside it, carved into the purple was a perfect picture of two dauphins cutting through the ocean from below the waves wile a dragon flew over them skimming the water with its claws. “you did say dauphins where your favorite animal right?”

"A nice red wine would be perfect. " She smiled at him, a smile that was for him alone. "I'll wait over here..." He was on his way already it seemed to her. She might as well relax by the dance floor. Watching the dancers. Morelia was quite fond of the music tonight. It was splendid... she would like to talk to the Harpers after about how great a selection they had chosen. While standing by herself a familiar voice reached her ears and her slightly happy expression turned to a frown.
"Morelia..." The brown riders cold tone indicated who he was before she had a chance to look over at him. He had a glass of wine in both hands as well though she would not reach out to take one. "B'leren." Morelia's tone was colder than his and a bit more angry. "Who's the guy?" B'leren tried to sound like he didn't care... well he didn/t care who the man was he only cared that he was with one of HIS women.
"wingsecond L'kel of Bronze Mnemozyth." Her answer stung him. A bronzer? Morelia? He could have laughed ... she hated rankers... "Ahh I see. How have you been dearest?" "Better without you." The Brownrider moved a bit closer. "I see. I never really wanted to hurt you lovedy." "I don't care what you intended. You were never in the relationship for me you were in it for you." "It can be hard having someone from a different Weyr love you..." "Right... well now its easy." Morelia tried to avoid more talk but B'leren moved closer. " I think you are keeping something from me...and have been for many turns." "You don't know everything. That is true." She answered almost inaudibly so as not to be overheard by passersby. "Tell me..." His voice added almost too persuasively. Morelia had always had trouble not doing as the man wished. Why had she stayed behind while L'kel left...
--------------------
J'mie began to pick up his form a bit, and in doing so twisted and turned the gold rider around into positions only meant for the more limber people of Pern. He was a very good lead when it came to dancing but he always felt the woman made the dance. He was almost out of breath when he spoke to her at the end of the dance. "Well, I don't often have dance partners that can keep with the pace." His tone was more flirtatious than it had been in a long time, perhaps he ought to recover from that with something of a more serious note. "G'rec won't mind if I steal you for another dance later will he?" J'mie, though he had no respect for the other man, had to respect the wishes of the rider before him.
Gavanth was pleased with her comment. So she might want to be cuaght... then he would catch her tonight. As for later that was up to J'mie and Mariska too. Picking up his pace yet again, he sped towards the Gold she was only a few feet ahead of him now. He was having trouble seeing in the dark but he figured if he kept his eyes on the Gold for now he wouldn't run into anything.

L'kel heard a familiar voice and a not so familar one as he returned with to glasses and a skin from their table. He frowned, pushing his way over to his mate and the man....bothering her. "Excuse me...sir," He stood between Morelia and the man. He put an arm protectively around the greenrider's waist. The other rider was too close to her for his liking. B'leren, a brown rider. Thanks. He whsipered to Morelia, "Was he...bothering you? Is he one of those you'd liek to get away from."
His dark face turned rather stony, "Perhaps, you'd like to go back to your wingmates. We don't need a problem." He said civilaly, eyeing up the man. He didn't like him, he knew that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mariska was slightly pink as they finished the dance. She was in good shape, but that had been some of the best 5 minutes of exersize she'd done in a while. she galnced over at the brownrider, laughing with A'sero, "Nah, he owes me. Shall we walk back" She asked motioning back towards their table. She would certainly enjoy a bubbly pie right then.
Zramuth stole a wuick glance back zat the Bronze., he was gaining. In a flight that would have spurred her on, but it pleased and actaully flattered her now. As they neared the very end of her race, he caught up with her till they were neck and neck. She then glided slowly under the moonlight and back to her stony perch on the rim. A tie then, that was gfun. But in a realy flight, you'll need more than a tie. She teased a little, now seeing the Bronze in a rather different light. He was no longer one of her utterly unworthy admirerers. He joined the few who she now actually gave a dragon's tail about. She was bored again, even though she felt the exhileration and exitment eminating from her rider. I'm kinda hungry. How about a midnight snack? She aske.d usually Mariska didn't like her going to the feeding grounds this late, but the Weyrwoman was probably to busy at the feast to notice. C'mon, She urged him, It'll be fun.
Morelia was about to answer B'leren when L'kel found her. She felt all sorts of relief knowing he was there. B'leren however did not seem the least bit phased by the L'kel's approach though his expression darkened when L'kel put his arm around her waist. She would be his again if he had any say in the matter. "L'kel." He nodded less than respectfully. "Of course, the lady and I can speak of this matter later." He added expecting her to agree with him on this. She did have to tell him eventually. She was just afraid he'd use the information to make her his again adn that she could not handle.
Morelia looked to the floor. "Perhaps we will have time to speak later, for now sir, enjoy your evening." She obviously was indicating the woman she was certain he had brought with him. B'leren took the hint and walked away.
After the amn was out of audible reach Morelia spoke back to L'kel, "thats the man who strung me along for many turns. Me and a few other choice women I did not know about." Morelia looked pale as a ghost for a moment. He was bad news for her, always. She turned all the way around hugging L'kel like someone who need to be held. She hated what the other man had done to her and now she had the perfect person right in front of her and she still couldn't be rid of B'leren.
---------------------------
J'mie didn't mind that they return to the table so he took her arm and begant he walk back. "Of course, he owes you more than he probably knows." J'mie's tone was not reproachful as he would have liked it to be but more protective of her than anything. "Ahh... I probably shouldn't drink anymore wine tonight...I think its going to start interfering with my dancing."
Gavanth responded, It will be much harder to win you over in a mating flight dear, especially with all those handseome young Bronzes in my way.He was always a humble dragon and so was not easily complimented. He had flown well though and he knew it. He also knew that J'mie was not ready...not as ready as he needed to be to fly a Gold. There would be other flights though and int he future J'mie would learn to open up more and let himself rejoin the rest of Pern...without a broken heart.
are you sure that is a good idea? Can you see that well right now?He wasn't good at seeing in the dark, at least not well enough to find the perfect beast. He would go with her if she was going. I ate yesterday my Queen, but I wll accompany you to the feeding grounds.
The greenrider began to relax as the bluerider walked out of sight. Even with S'hon right there, she was able to be so calm. Since when was she so comfortable around him? Usually she would stiffen at the sight of him and send him death glares with eyes flashing. And here she was resting without a care in the world as she watched the dancers on the dance floor. Go dance with S'hon. You know you want to dance, and who better than the one you now admit you are comfortable with?
What? That doesn't mean I can go straight from comfortable to friendly and polite. I never said you had to be friendly or polite. Just dance to make up for your horrific dance the last night. Daine growled mentally. She hadn't remembered them being that bad. No one had booed to them or thrown anything at them. Then again, she still wasn't too clear on that night to be sure. She turned to face S'hon but found his hand reaching out for hers again.
That same feeling rushed through her, and her immediate reaction was to slap it away and make the strange sensation disappear. She hated the unknown, and that emotion was new and different. But she didn't slap it away, and instead she looked from it to S'hon and back again. Was he serious? Well, why not? Daine stared at his hand for a moment, then looked up at S'hon. "It was his rudeness." Her hand extended to meet his as she let him pull her up and walk her to the dance floor.
~~~~
Safiya first made sure K'ton was alright after he tripped, but afterwards she couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, I don't think it's practice you need. You were just distracted because you were talking and dancing at the same time. I think you're doing marvelous." She smiled encouragingly as the climax of the song began. Her feet moved to the beat while her hips moved to the rhythm. The dancers around them were all experienced as well, and not one of the pairs stuck out more than the rest from lack of ability.
The weyrling beamed at his offer. Another dance? Anything to keep her on the dance floor. "I would love another dance. Then how about we sit down to get something to drink?" She was getting rather thirsty, but it could wait for another dance. At the idea of taking a walk outside, her chocolate eyes looked to the Head Table where the Sodalis Weyrwoman sat. Would she mind if Safiya left the Weyrhall to go on a walk? There would be a rider with her from Sodalis...
She could only imagine what Weyrlingmaster M'larain might say though if he found out. Turning back to K'ton, she sadly shook her head. "I would love to, but maybe at the next Hatching Feast. The next one should be at Sodalis, and I wouldn't get in trouble for leaving the Weyrhall. I'm not sure the Weyrlingmaster would approve me leaving the Weyrhall at Lateo since this is only my second time in being here." She still didn't know the layout of the Weyr, and she would easily get lost.
Even so, she knew K'ton would be there. And yet she would rather risk it after she had Graduated than before. Besides, the night was coming to its height and the dances were becoming more and more popular. Still feeling bad about declining K'ton, she found a table empty near a window where the fresh breeze would come in. "Oh! What if we took a walk to that table and just sat down there? I won't be leaving the Weyrhall, but we could still get the cool night air, right?"
Safiya didn't realize he had probably wanted to get away from the loud music and laughter to just calm down, and instead assumed he wanted to cool off from all the dancing. She was spun around again, and her dress swirled around and back again while her eyes stayed focused on K'ton. He really didn't give himself enough credit for how well he danced. He was either much better than he thought, or just very modest. There were plenty of people she knew who couldn't dance without months of training.

K'ton wrinkled his forehead slightly at the Safiya, trying not to seem to pleased by her compliment," You're much too kind." He said, as they walked off of the dance floor. He looked up at her, his sea green eyes looking happy, "Another dance then. If you're a little tired we could wait for a slow one? I guess its probably been a long day for you." He added. He remebered always having to much to do and to little sleep as a Weyrling, but that was probably just part of the experience.
Even though he was a little put out that they couldn't take a walk, he smiled at her anyways. He wouldn't have been so good when he was a Weyrling, but then again, he was just a Brownrider, not one of the future leaders of the Weyr. "Yah, i guess M'larain and Merda might not be too happy about you leaving the hall, especially with a roughian trouble maker like me." He agreed, somewhat teasingly. He had certainly been called that alot.
As she brought up the next flight at Sodalis, he took it up eagerly, he was after all a Brownrider, and would be participating in the flight even he couldn't win and would probably drop out early. All you had to do was hav ea gir lin your weyr waiting for you and it was a hell of a time. But, fortuantatly, he realized that probably wasn't the best thing to say, so instead he replied,"Caliath's next flight should be a good one...they've been getting bigger you know, and she's certainly experienced enough to keep a long chase, even if she is older. I'd say we'd be looking at a hatching feast to double this one." He smiled as the dance ended. He held her still for a second, his blue green eyes searching into hers. And then he straightened up and ended the moment. "We at Sodalis do know how to have a good party."
He walked led her over, offering an arm out to her, and then sat down at the empty table with the Gold rider. It wasn't the same as actually being out under the moonlight, but it was nice anyways. The breeze was gcool and refreshing and the stars shone brightly out in the clear blanket of night. "Sitting her is fine. at least here i don't have to yell to be heard over the din." He agnkwoledged the loudness of the party with a nod of his head.
He glanced at the large groups of people sharing too much wine and stuffing their faces, "Would you liek somethign to eat...or some wine?" He thought about it for a second, "But M'larain probably wouldn't aprove of you drinking wine, and i owuldn't want to get you in trouble.." He trailed off, he remembered then how annoying it had been to be a weyrling wit hall those retrictions. But that didn't mean they couldn't have any fun, "Or you get another bubbly, of course, i'm sure you worked off the last one with your dancing."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
L'kel nodded off the other man, turning back to his Morelia. He frowned at her words, he was angry, "How could he do that to you? If I-If I see him again." He wasn't a violent man, but he felt the sudden need to punch someone. He realized that that probably wasn't what Morelia needed right then. He looked down int oehr eyes, "You knwo i would never, ever do that to you. Never." He held her tight, wanting to know exactly how to comfort her. But he was still angry, how could someone do that to Morelia?
Inside S’hon expected her to smack his hand away, visions and memories flashed unbidden through his mind as another woman super imposed herself over Dains image. S’hon tried not to shake the image away not wanting the green rider to think him crazy. Luckily for him Mazbeth stepped in to save the day offering the memory and image of Daine drunk but smiling from the other night. That had come just as Daine did reach out, taking his hand and not hitting it.
S’hon stiffened though he did not squeeze her hand as he gently pulled her to her feet. He held her hand up keeping a respectful distance between them as they reached the dance floor. A new song, a faster one, started up just as they stepped into the growing crowd of dancers. Turns of training came back in a flash as S’hon spun the woman with skilled balance and timing to the music. He didn’t flinch as he had before when he placed his other hand on her hip keeping his frame locked and dancing as though he had done it everyday since he was born.
Somehow he wanted to smile… but it seemed he had forgotten how. He was however not glaring or sulking as a paper thin layer of Ice dripped away
Morelia after feeling comfortable in his tight embrace spoke quietly enough that only he could hear her. "Yes, I know." She would tell L'kel more details later for now she didn't to concern herself too much with the other man. After thinking of all the things L'kel did for her and how much time he spent wiht her.. she knew there was no comparison between him and B'leren.
"You are wonderful... and I love you." She said it with so much feeling that anyone would know she truly meant what she was saying. It was not something she herself was really aware of but it did make her feel better to ahve told him. With that she reached her mouth gently to his, tenderly kissing him. Morelia knew better than to kiss very passionately on such an occassion around so many people.
((Irk! Sorry Hrsgrl, i was gonna finish up that posty...but, as usual, got delayed and sidetracked.))
L'kel brushed a stray strand of hair from her temple and smiled down at her. His eyes as loving as her voice, "And i you. I will always." He was a little suprised as she kissed, him, but he kissed her back, gently. He knew that she needed to feel close to him now, closeness to someone she could turst and who would never hurt her. Whe h e pulled away, hesitantly almost, he asked her with worried, searching eyes, "Do you want to go back? Away from all these people. I can stay with you in your weyr tonight,if you'd like?" She looked quite shaken and he didn't want her upset by any more old friends she might encounter at the feast.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mariska ignored J'mie's first comment, letting him lead her back to the table. She winked at him as they were seated, "Perhaps thats a good idea. Would you mind pouring me a glass, though?" She asked, "Some of the white, actually, for my bubbly," She pulled nabbed one quickly off of a drudges tray. She wouldn't mind having somethin sort of sweet before getting up to dance again. "Arlight then, next dance for A'sero, than J'mie again and then last song for you, m'love and then i'll be rather tired out for the night." She looked careingly at the brownrider. Perhaps, like many said, her mother included, she could do better than the Helios rider, but there was something about him that just kept bringing her back to him.
"A toast then, to Savath's first clutch?" She raised her glass, her smile glowing with happiness for her friend, her weyr, and the occasion.

"OH! Its beautiful!! I knew you could carve but this is amazing! Your right dolphins are my favorite animals, how did you remember?" She was very happy now, someone, a friend, cared enough to give her a present. And such a beautiful present!Taking the gift she turned to the table and shoved her hand, and the gift, close to Monara's face. "Look! isn't T'mar talented, he made me this from a simple sea shell. Look how the purple refelects the light. And look see, see the dragon over the water, and the dopphins! Their my favorite animals, the dolphoins not the dragons."
Monara blinked and looked down at the shell. "Oh its nice...very pretty. Yes I'd say T'mar has alotof talent thats for sure. Dolphins are your favorite animal aye. Nice creatures they are. Seen them all my life. Their kind always means good luck for sailing" She smiled at Rylene and went back to eating, it had sort of shocked Monara to see Rylene in such a good mood, after the Hatching. But it seemed that T'mar had thought well, and given her a a present to make up for Rylene not Impressing. Good thinking on his part.

"Absolutely, Weyrwoman," Merda replied. "Shall I come in three days?" Smiling knowingly, she said, "I reckon you'll need time to rest from all the Hatching excitement? If you like, I could bring my 'apprentices' for your Fortine and Kezna then as well." Merda was well-pleased that she was open to her bringing some people over to learn. That showed strong leadership. Maybe next time, that insufferable G'llahar would be ousted by E'mion. He had definitely earned Merda's respect, and that was quite an accomplishment. The older woman turned to E'mion and leaned to whisper in his ear. "You make sure you beat that crawlersnapper next time Savath rises, young man. A man like you is good for the Weyr, in my opinion." She nodded seriously. Maybe her advice was unwanted, but Merda had lived long enough for that not to matter anymore. Louder, and to a passing drudge, she requested a mug of klah. "My old bones need warmth," she said to the general audience, grinning.
