Kabhi meandered into the Weyrhall, set and pleased to grab a bowl of stew and sit down at a table. It hadn't been a particularly rough day, but she was feeling enervated anyway.
We'll go to bed soon, Alth consoled her, the green dragon sounding a bit sleepy herself. Kabhi smiled and sent warm reassurances to her dragon. She felt the gentle caress of the faded red tunic on her stomach and arms and felt uniquely happy and comfortable. Her brown pants, which cut off at mid-calve, encouraged her feeling of comfort.
Hearing loud talking to her left, Kabhi glanced over and saw the Headwoman speaking sharply to a fellow rider. Judging by his handsome appearance and fit shape, Kabhi guessed a bronze rider, or at least a brown. Realizing that she was staring, she glanced away in a hurry, and continued to walk along the tables to the large pot that rested over the fire.

E’mion found himself exasperated as the Headwoman stood stubbornly before him. Throwing up his hands dramatically, he let out a loud ‘gah’. Spinning sharply on his heel, he stomped off as he silently cussed to himself. What on earth would provoke the women to… to think so stubbornly?!? Someone needed to show the women her place and bed her properly. Walking over to the pile of bowls, he grabbed himself one as he continued to let the steam out under his breath. Dragonless stubborn women…
“E’mion! Where have you been? I been look’n everywhere for you!” the familiar voice made the bronzer turn toward the door to find the ‘go-lucky’ brown rider walking in with a wave. E’mion rolled his eyes and turned again toward the hearth.
“CHAR-IT!” The words escaped E’mion’s mouth before he had time to think as the over-heated stew splashed against his chest, easily seeping thru the thin, dark tank he wore. Jumping back he brushed off the majority of it quickly before looking darkly at his assailant. Finding a women in red, E’mion didn’t hesitate to open his mouth.
“What the Fall do you think your doing!?!” he spat rudely even though it had been his fault for walking into her bowl. He was not in the mood for anything today.

"Erm, I was...that is, I mean...I dunno!" Kabhi said, stuttering. "I'm sorry," she mumbled, looking down to her feet, eyes springing with unshed tears. Outside, Alth whined her rider's distress, flapping her wings in dismay.
What's wrong? she asked, distressed and worried. Kabhi shook her head and tried to reassure her dragon. I'm in the Bowl if you need to leave, the dragon said, sending the reassuring waves reflecting back to her.
Kabhi looked back up at the rider, eyes still brimming with tears. "I'm sorry, sir," she said meekly. She ripped a bit of fabric from the bottom of her own tunic and wiped his arm tentatively.

The Wingleaders eyes flashed dangerously at her stumble for words. Was it that hard to explain? Just say you’re a clumsy drudge and move on! The look of tears in her eyes shot down his anger several levels, however, and he was completely at a loss for words as she tore her own shirt to clean his arm.
Eyes narrowing, he grabbed her wrist with a little more force than he realized and pulled it away. “Don’t.” he said shortly. Looking the women in the eyes, he opened this mouth to say something further.
“That is now way to treat a woman.” The words were not that of the rough bronzer, but that of the brown rider who had come up from behind. E’mion closed his own mouth and glanced at the rider who flew in his wing. Releasing the wrist he held, he glared at the man in his command; the man who had the nerve to tell him what to do.
“Watch your mouth and keep your nose in your own thread-scored business.” he snapped at the lanky rider before returning his gaze at the chocolate brunette still before him. “Well? Get your stew and move on. I’m hungry.”

Feeling a tear slide down her cheek, Kabhi smiled at the brownrider who had been kind to her, however indirectly. The bronzerider released her wrist, and it tingled and hurt where he had caught it so roughly. A bruise would form there soon; Kabhi was prone to easy bruising. Her green, brown-dappled eyes leaked more water, and burned when she tried to hold in the tears. She retracted her new shirt-born rag and wiped her face with it quickly. Turning to refill her bowl, she frowned at herself.
I can't fit in there, Alth said desperately. Kabhi's fear intensified.
"No, stop it, Alth. Don't come in here," she said, both aloud and through telepathy, distracted from her motions. The soup ladle dropped from her grasp and clanged on the pot's lip before Kabhi shook off her distraction.
But you need me. The dragon whined plaintively.
Not half as bad as I need you to stay in the Bowl, the rider told her dragon. Still semi-selfconscious, she stumbled over her feet as she moved out of the Bronzer's way, carefully avoiding his eyes.

What have you done now? The deep, rough voice that mimicked that of E’mion’s rang thru the bronzer’s head full of reprimand. The bronzer found himself frowning as the women turned to refill her bowl.
I haven’t done anything. he replied back with venom.
Then why is there a green out here sick with worry?
What would a green… E’mion stopped half way thru his retort as he realized just what Malekith had meant. Once again his cold, hard logic broke thru E’mion’s senses and was punctuated by the woman’s sudden voice to her dragon.
Seeing her slight stumble, E’mion’s right hand instantly went out to steady the newly filled bowl. Sighing, he smoothy pulled it from her hands. “If you don’t get a grip on things your going to be spilling that again.” Glancing over toward the door, E’mion asked Malekith to confirm the location of the woman’s green. Finding it to be, in fact, just outside he sighed and put his free hand lightly on the small of her back.
“Look, you concentrate on calming your dragon and I’ll get you a seat.” he said with a glance at the brown rider now filling two more bowls. Content that he’d still get his food, he lead the woman over to the Helios table before she’d be able to resist. The last thing he needed today was to get the entire Weyr riled up.

"Yessir," she mumbled, attempting to hold back her tears and comfort her dragon as the man guided her to his wing's table. It's okay, Alth. It's fine, my pretty baby. Go back outside to the Bowl. Please, she pleaded with the green.
Fine, but call me if you need me. Alth replied, worry tinging her timbre voice. I love you. Kabhi sent warmth back to her dragon. She saw, rather then felt, the dragon backing out of the deep cavern, and sighed relief. The man's hand was on the small of her back, and realizing it, she blushed, and pulled away from it.
"Thank you, sir. I'm very sorry for spilling things on you, I can be very clumbsy," she said, face downcast as she sought a chair. Her footing was back again, and she was feeling more even as she held the bowl filled to the brim with the stew. "May I inquire as to your name, sir?" she asked.

Hearing her speak another apology, the bronze rider rolled his eyes. “What’s done is done, it can’t be helped.” he said shortly as he pulled the chair at the end of the table out for her. Seeing her properly seated, he moved to sit across from her. Looking her up and down, he sighed an looked past her toward the brown rider who now walked with two full bowls.
“E’mion, Helios Wingleader and rider of Bronze Malekith.” he said formally and yet as if he was bored to death. The brown rider pulled out the chair next to the woman and leaned over the table to hand E’mion a bowl. A crooked smile lit the bronzer’s face as he dipped his spoon into it.
“Thanks L’nuo.” After taking the first bite he looked back up at the women. “And you are?” L’nuo sat down and took his own bite from the soup before turning to watch the female rider curiously.

Kabhi flushed at E'mion's words about the past. What he was saying made sense, of course, but she had always been very apologetic. To her, it was politeness, and she often found that others did not agree. The handsome brownrider delivered the wngleader a bowl of the stew, and sat next to Kabhi, and he was rewarded with a rare smile from the woman. "I am Kabhi, rider of Green Alth, Luna Wingrider," she introduced herself with full titles, knowing hers was nowhere near as impressive as his. She turned to the man on her left. "I know your name, L'nuo, but not your dragon." Blushing, she felt she ought to know all the dragons just to avoid moments like this.

Seeing the girl flush, E’mion returned his attention to the stew. It was rather good stew… but then again that could probably have been pinned on the fact that he was starving having skipped all meals so far today. Hearing that she was a Luna wingrider, he glanced up again to let his eyes wander over her one more time. How would she measure up to the women of his own wing?
L’nuo returned the smile pleasantly and without hesitation as the conversation turned to him. Picking up her hand in his, he leaned forward. “L’nuo, Rider of Brown Enuth, Helios Wingrider. We enjoy walks on the beach, flying thread, long bubble baths and above all else, the company of a friendly woman.” he finished with a flourish and a smile as he kissed the back of her hand lightly.
E’mion nearly choked on his stew at the riders introduction and found himself fighting to swallow. “THAT, is what I like to call a man who is full of himself.” he said as he used his spoon to point to L’nuo. The previous scowl on his face, however was now replaced with a crooked smile at L’nuo’s fancy words. If there was one man who could be absolutely ridiculous and make it work it was that blasted brown rider.

Kabhi blushed neatly at the brownrider's words, and giggled when he kissed her hand. Grabbing her spoon, she took a small bite of the stew. "It is a pleasure to make both of your aquaintances," she said, though her words favored L'nuo. E'mion's words sounded vaguely humoured, and Kabhi wondered if he was as rough as he seemed. L'nuo, on the other hand, was charming and funny, things Kabhi never seemed to be or tried to do.
"And how fairs Helios in her drills?" she asked politely, glancing down to her bowl to hide the creeping blush at L'nuo's words about baths. The words lingered in her mind.

Forgetting to let go of Kabhi’s delicate hand, L’nuo picked up his own spoon again with his left hand since his right was being put to good use. One plus to being ambidextrous. Putting one mind on his eating and the other on the movement of his thumb as it stroked the back of her hand, L’nuo barely listened to the next words voiced. He had missed the day’s earlier meals as well, but due to the fact that he was tracking down E’mion rather than the bronzers excuse of being too lost in thought for food.
E’mion, on the other hand, was not preoccupied with a hand in his own and so heard the woman’s words clearly. “Drills are going fine.” he answered, not quite as shortly as before now that his stomach was starting to fill. “And Luna? How does she fair?” he asked curious. Helios happened to be one of the wings that ruffled everyone’s feathers and so did not get brought into the ‘loop’ much, even if they were often invited into the beds of the riders.

Finishing her most recent bite of stew, she said, "Luna is doing well. Some of the newer riders have now mastered the Crossover." The Crossover was the hardest move for a wing to complete successfully, consisting of the riders switching to the other side of the wing position while still in flight. It was difficult, and when the wing had completed it, everyone had been ecstatic.
Kabhi felt L'nuo's thumb caress her hand, and she smiled coyly. Unsure of what to do, or of what she wanted to do, she let him hold her hand, and she took a sip from the wine goblet a drudge had set in front of her. She was unable to think of anything to say that would keep the conversation from stagnating, so she took another bit of stew. Kabhi never had been good at maintaining conversation.

Noticing rather suddenly that L’nuo’s hand held the green riders, E’mion shook his head as he stuffed his mouth with more stew. L’nuo, on the other hand, hand different ideas. Hearing a pause in the conversation he looked up and smiled at the brunette. “My you have soft hands.” he said pleasantly before tilting his head slightly and narrowing his eyes. “Are you sure you are a dragon rider? I do not believe I’ve ever met one with hands as fine as yours. It makes me wonder what else you are hiding.”
L’nuo thanked his lucky stars as he ducked just in time to miss E’mion’s now airborne spoon. “Have you no shame L’nuo!?” he asked amazed that one of HIS wing would speak so. They had a reputation to keep up after all and he said so.
“I see no reputation more worth keeping up than that of the pleasure we give the ladies.” he said shortly as he pulled another spoon from nowhere to hand over the his wingleader. After twelve years in the same wing and six under his command, L’nuo was well at ease with the man. “I think you’d do well to take example.”
“I’ll show you example.” he shot back taking the hidden challenge. L’nuo’s eyebrows rose but he did not argue as the wingleader stood and walked to the other side of the table. Offering a hand, he spoke in a mixture of pleasant and mysterious tones. His eyes danced, there was no better way to ended a bad day by showing up the young brown rider. “I’m stealing you away from this tramp. Come dance with me.”

Peering at her hands at L'nuo's initial remark, Kabhi agreed. She did use oil on them to keep them sweet smelling and nice. His next few words made her grin coquettishly and look at the brownrider's face. "I bet you'd just like to know, huh?" she said. Kabhi was overall, a coy girl. Afterall, she had Impressed a green.
Indeed, was Alth's only word. Kabhi could feel how pleased Alth was with the two men's attention. It could mean a brown or a bronze for her, afterall. Kabhi laughed, the vocalization sounding like the ting of mallets hitting a harper's bell set. She had always been proud of her laugh, thinking it somewhat flirty, yet shy.
At the sight of the flying spoon, Kabhi giggled and put up her hands to block her face. L'nuo gave E'mion a new one, but it seemed as though he was now disinterested in the stew as he came for Kabhi's hand for a dance. She smiled and aquiesced. It wasn't often that men vied for her attention. Feeling a little guilty for leaving L'nuo, who had been kind to her, she turned to him and mouthed the words, "The next dance?" and smiled, a light blush once again gracing her pale cheeks.
Following E'mion out to the dancefloor, she put her hands in the right places. Her mother had taught her how to dance since Kabhi had attended so many Gathers. She was well adept at it, and that was the only thing besides dragonriding she was any good at. Deciding to let him lead, she looked at E'mion. "Are you both always this competitive with each other?" she asked, friendliness on her face and a small smile on her lips. This was interesting.
