"Well if I'm angry its your fault!" Morelia screamed at the man before her. She was not in the mood to deal with, B'leren. His old stories were just that. Old. The 40 Turn old Brown rider looked a bit shocked at just how angry she was. Her dragon was proddy and she was in no mood for him. "Why are you here?" She looked up at him her blue eyes filled with rage.
"I came to talk... we left off badly..." "NO! You left off badly. I'm sorry, I may not be faithful to one man, but I never sleep with two at the same time. B'leren, I think we have talked enough." Morelia looked so beautiful when she was angry, her hair seemed to frame itself around her slender form. She was always beautiful but to her ex she was now exquisitely so. "Relia...your right. Thats why I came to ask you...forgive me?" Her left eyebrow quirked. "I will not forgive you and I can not. " Her face was turned defiantly away from him. He wished to talk her into forming another affair with him... she wouldn't do it. He was more than a two timing, sleeze, he always took and never gave. She was sick of his games.
"Is that how you want it? FINE!" B'leren He threw her table at the wall. "You will regret this someday, when you are living alone and mateless. Even your beautiful face won't last forever."
"Just go! At least I was beautiful once. You will always look like a complete asshole!" Morelia shouted at him taking one of her chairs and throwing it at the leaving brown rider.
Morelia waited till she was certain he was gone, then went to her bed and began to sob quietly. Naraleth could find no words to comfort her rider... but oh how she despised that man! Her eyes swirling in agitation, she made sure her rider had a blanket. "How did I ever fall for that creep and his lies?" Her eyes flooded with more tears. This time of Naraleth's cycle always made Morelia sensitive to her emotions. "I should have known better. I've seen it a million times." Naraleth laid her elegant head on her rider's back. Morelia in turn whispered, "Thank you."

Even at Naraleth's request, Morelia would not leave her bed. She felt like dying... why should a man like that be able to make her feel like less than she was. Who was the one that had been loyal and respectful? Who had always had to fly to the other's Weyr? Who eventually had the child and started raising her? Morelia hated him. At least she hated his personality and well she couldn't hate him for being a great partner, but she would never be able to forgive him for what he had done. She in return had payed him an even crueler return, he had no idea of Berelia's existance and probably never would unless Bera insisted on meeting him. Thank Faranth the child looked nothing like that rat bastard! She was done crying for the time being but anger consumed her thoughts... which was never good. She pitied the person who got in her way today.

With his usual good timeing, L'kel was headed right to her weyr. With his usual buisness like manner he knocked only once before poking his head in. "Morelia. We are having a tactics and drills meeting for bloodchar-" He cut off mid sentence as he noticed her current state. She didn't look like she was in the best of moods. Perhaps it was time for Naraleth. L'kel certainly wasn't good at the feelings talk so he spoke awkwardly. She was only a green rider anyways. If it had been Revonna on the other hand, he would have let her cry into his shoulder all she wanted. "Are you uh...doin' ok Morelia?"

If eyes could kill hers would have, of course she had lifted her head and eyes at the sound of the knock. Thinking it was B'leren back to torment her she had a murderous look on her face. After noting who it was she realized she must look completely scary. Not to even mention the fact that she was lying in bed. Her face was tear streaked, her cute nose pink and her eyes puffy. She sent a softer gaze his way, he was not sure how to react to this. She knew his type well enough not to expect any sort of physical comfort. Naraleth had lifted her head, multifaceted eyes fixed upon L'kel. "Not really. Take my advice L'kel, never fall in love. People are lying, cheats who only care about themselves. Most importantly never fall in love with someone of more rank who only sees you as another person who they can manipulate to their own will. I should have known better."
Morelia said then with a change of attitude, because pity was the last thing she wanted she began again, "You said something about a meeting?" Her face perked up a bit. She did look disheveled to say the least. The table was brocken next to the wall by her bed, it was evident it had been thrown. Then there were the remains of one of her chairs by the door. As if wood was not hard enough to come by she had to ruin some. She did notice as usual, the darker rider's well muscled chest...stupid hormones. Why? Why now, Narlaleth? Why not in two weeks! Her blue eyes seemed to linger a bit too long on the other rider before moving on to her dragon.

Lkel nodded to Morelia..it seemed over the last few events the two had formed a strange sort of bond. Stupid bloody beautiful green riders! He thought to himself. He listenend earnestly to her speech. It seemed he had failed in all respects...Revonna. Although, he ahad to admit, that recently his feelings for her hadn't been as pure. He found it hard to miss some of the ways she treated people as much as he wanted to. Oh bloody sharding flame all beautiful women!
He could have cringed at her first glance but he wasn't that sort of person. He held he eyes as he watched them soften before him. She really did look a mess...but still extremely attractive which irked him for some reason. Despite his mind shouting at him he sat down beside her on her bed. "Well uh...i uh hoped you feel better soon.Uh..." He really was mister smooth.
When he remembered what he was actually here for he jumped up to his usual rigid standing position. "With the games coming up we have decided to include all members of the wing in most of our tactical analysis meetings. Every rider, no matter the color, has things to offer." He recited his carefully rehearsed lines to her without emotion. He would have prefered the meetings only to include Bronzes, a few Browns and the Blue asst. Weyrlingmaster... however he was only the "Wingsecond ."
It was only then that he noticed the sheen of Naraleth. Oh. He really didn't want any proddy riders in the meeting so he thought quickly about how to say this. For not the first time he cursed his lousy communication skills. "Um Morelia...Is it that time in Naraleth's cycle?" He cringed a bit after asking thaty. He definatly wasnm't comftorable talking about women things...Naraleth was just much a female as the rest of the mwhich didn't help. He felt anger rising inside him. If Naraleth rose that would mess up the whole meeting he had planned!

Her body was under contol at least until he came over. Thank good ness she had experience and could control all her feelings. "I don't see why I should have to feel bad its all his sharding fault. He had to go and ruin everything. All I can think of now is what I'm going to tell Berelia." On the last word, Morelia's voice softened. The five turn old always had a soft spot in her mother's heart no matter who her father was. "I wish I could say I was in better sorts for the meeting. I am glad they have decided to have us attend, but I really think thats too many people. Won't it get hard to talk about anything with so many differences in opinion?" Morelia had noticed he went back to mister serious and decided it was probably for the best. Though the longer he sat there the more she had to resist the urge to move closer to him. Curse those sharding males, didn't they know what they did to her!? Naraleth preened a little when he was looking at her, she did have a vain streak, one Morelia had as well.
"Geens get this lovely sheen several days before rising, so its not about to happen today. I know you focus on golds rising, they only change sheen the day of. I guess I get a bit more of a warning." She grinned a little trying to be of a better humor. What she realy wanted to do was yell at B'leren again and throw twenty more chairs at him. "I think I need wine, lots and lots of wine." Morelia said looking a bit more melancholy. "Has anyone ever said something to you that struck you so hard, it was like you couldn't breathe for a moment?"

L'kel had a zillion question going through his head. Whose Berelia? He realized how similar it sounded to Morelia's name so it must be her daughter. But Morelia seemed so young...to young to have a daughter. Well at least things were starting to make some sense. He shoould proably take trhe time to learn a bit more about hose in his wing. He nodded along to Morelia, "Yes waaay to many people! I totally agree. It will be totally disorganized and hard to keep order. I'm no happier about it then you are!" He realized that he and the greenrider actually agreed on something for once. Why did he keep running into her!
He nodded at her undersandingly, "Yes of course they do. Pardon me I had forgotten." He nodded to her but began to wonder if she was fit for the meeting. It wasn't starting for over a candlemark so he had some time to spare. "If you aren't up for the meeting you don't have to attend. Its only madatory for Bronzes and Browns." He remembered his own drinking binge from a few mights before and cringed a little. Hopefully he could talk her out of that action. He then found and intruding thought in his head... Its almost time for Naraleth isn't it? Don't sound so bloody eager will you? But yes she is. Don't get any ideas like- I want to fly her! Yes...exactly like that. His Bronze snorted at him but said nothing. Mnemozyth was definately in the top five biggest Bronzes on Pern. He ceratinly had the prowess speed and strngth to fly a green if he wanted to...which is just what L'kel feared. It wasn't that L'kel would have minded sharing a night with Morelia, for even though she was several turns older than he, she was extremely attractive and if any of the rumors were true quite a pro as well. It was just that he didn't want any involvment with anyone in his wing. He tried not even to be friends with any of them. Unfortauntly, he had no say in the matter, it was the dragons who deicde.
After much deliberation he put a stiff arm around Morelia in an atempt to comfort her. It was probably more liek a headlock than a friendly gesture but hey...he wasn't a touchy feely guy. He didn't answer her last question though. When he was told P'iello was dead he had felt the same way. "So um...would you like to just talk for a while?" That was certainly a strange comment coming from L'kel's mouth.

Morelia realized that she was agreeing with a haughty Bronzerider, who she seemed to be spending more and more time with. Why was she being drawn to the man? If Morelia had beena believer in fate she would have been able to sum it up easily to herself. Do you think Mnemozyth's likes you? I... I... its complicated... I hope Mnemozyth is around for my flight... he is a very nice bronze... I might even let him fly me. Naraleth always started these conversations around her time. It was no suprise, but Morelia put her foot down... No, you can't. He is in our wing. I won't have you ruining our position... Poor excuse. Naraleth grumbled to her. I am having a hard time as it is, not giving into my attraction and you have to go and make it worse. Naraleth gave a draconic smirk and went out to her ledge where she began to sun, her green hide gleaming. "It might be better for my image not to go. I would hate to miss something overly important... I really do want people to hear my opinions..." Morelia stated it as a green rider would. She was not sad or depressed it was more hopeful. Queens were always heard...that was what Naraleth had alwas been jealous of, their power. She felt his arm around her but did not stiffen at his touch like one would expect. Insteadshe rested her head on his shoulder gently. "Thank you." She said simply and quietly, her mind fillling with the things that bothered her at the time. "HE said I was going to end up alone and ugly....I'm afraid." Morelia had a hard time admitting to fear and this one seemed so simple.

L'kel stiffened for a small second as she leaned into his gesture but slowly his tense muscles began to realax. His arm then slipped naturally around her shoulders and not in the suffocating way it had been beofre. He was very confused. On one hand he was a bit a ttracted to the older rider and certainly found her very attractive...on the other hand he detsted greenriders and didn't want anything to do with his wingmates. He had a problem.
However he shoved it to the back of his mind and tried to ue all the limited communication skills he had to make the green rider feel better. He thought silently for a minute, just letting the silent stretch before adding, "Well you know...if you don't want to go you can just tell me some of your ideas so they can be discussed in the meeting. Besides they would probably be payed attention to more coming from a Bronze rider," Once a self centered Bronzer; always a self centerd Bronzer. At least he menat well. His foot began to fall asleep from sitting so still with Morelia so her juggled it softly tryin to stop the pricking needles without disturbing his Wingmate. L'kel felt anger well up inside him...whoever the bastard was who had hurt Morelia should get a real talking to. The Bronze rider wasn't sure why he even cared...but he did. It was thuroughly unnerving to him and not something he particularily liked. Caring for no one but himself had suited him fine for 8 turns.
He looked her in the eye his face suddenly serious, "Morelia that is foolishness. You know you could never end up alone. Just because you don't want to settle down now doesn't mean you won't ever. And as fo being ugly that would defy the laws of nature-" He paused and despite his instincts screaming at him he foolishly added, "You are so beautiful." He could immediatly feel the heat rising in his cheeks. Naraleth's time in her cycle must be getting to him. He stood up quickly and was suddenly rigid again. He walked to the door, wanting to get away before he broke any more of his personal policies. He couldn't resist however, stopping at the threshold to look back at morelia. He felt like he was being torn in two. He was so confused. Flame all Green Riders!

She felt better with L'kel there, oddly. He was reassuring her as best he could about the meeting adn though it sounded a bit self centered, she was in no state to go to the meeting. What if Naraleth decided to rise early? That would be a very bad place to be. "I suppose I could. It would be best that I don't go." She knew the truth when she heard it.
The silence gave her time to think. She liked the feeling of being held, she felt protected. Naraleth had dozed off on her ledge and was paying no attention to the riders. L'kel spoke again this time more serious. He caught her off guard.
The words would never have been able to come after a sentance like that. Her body went rigid on th ebed when he left her. She knew he was handsome and she was attracted. He was aBronzer and in her wing. There was no way they would be able to have a relationship... even if they wanted one. why were things so complicated? Now she stood up, and smiled "L'kel?" She wondered why he seemed so scared about this, like he should never had said it. "Its nothing to be ashamed of. Feeling attracted to someone, even a greenrider is okay."
Morelia moved closer to the door way where shards of wood lay everywhere. "I find you very handsome, and not just becase my dragon is proddy." She wanted to touch him again, let him know it was fine. She wold understand if he distanced himself from her, or decided to pursue her. Either way she would understand. Her blue eyes held the understanding that she felt. She was watching his face.

L'kel felt almost angry now, "No! It isn't ok! I'm supposed to be Weyrleader and go for Queens not fall for Greenriders." He finished in an odd voice. He stood rigid as she came to him. His eyes were almost blazing and he felt the sudden urge to knock her to the ground and force the beauty off of her face. All the wind left him suddenly though and he slumped to the floor his head in his hands. It wasn't supposed to be this way!
He looked up at her with softer eyes and rose, if it was a little unsteadily. He held her face in his long hands, engulfing them with his brown fingers before releasing her almost wistfully. He couldn't quite reply to he comment. He knew he certrainly wasn't ugly but most women, if they even thought he was attractive, were to scared and felt him to overpowering to tell him. Yet, this mere Greenrider could make him quake and fellso confused nd mad and lusty and sad and happy all at the same time! It wasn't fair!
He could feel the closeness of her body and it made him tingle alll over. It was wrong! She was from his wing and rode a green dragon. She was older than him and had children. She was probably the worst woman for him in the whole Weyr! He felt like he was getting torn into. Before he backed out, he made an imuplsive move. He didn't throw her onto her bed as he would have liked or draw her into a passionate kis, he simply drew her to him and held her in that embrace. He pulled her head to his chest and hoped she wouldn't resist. Sharding Greenriders!

L'kel was right, she told herself. He should go for golds and not greens. Her body protested to this thought vehemently. As he sank to the ground she began to tremble. She had never had this affect on anyone...it made her feel terrible...She had never even tried to seduce him and she knew very well how to seduce a man.
Morelia felt him going through his emotions. He was falling for her and there was nothing she could do to help him. Her own emotions were just as muddled. Every time he touched her she became blissfully aware of how happy he made her. She would never protest to a relationship with him.
As he pulled her to him she let herself be held. Not sure she could say anything to help him. Her head was resting on his chest, his very muscular chest. She wanted to tell him everything could work if he was patient. Morelia spoke a bit quietly at first, "You should know that I would never stop you from pursuing your dreams. You should fly Ryolinth when the time comes. I have dreams too."

L'kel released her after a stretched moment. He let out a long sigh. how had this happened? How was he falling for a Green Rider? He just stood still for a whule before responding to her question. "Yes...yes I should. Zyth is one of the biggest Bronzes alive. He deserves a Gold...he does." He finished, trying to convince himself as he said it. He still wanted to be Weyrleader...no! He had to be Weyrleader! But could Zyth fly Naraleth...just this once. Just once wouldn't be a problem, would it? Even as he thought this he realized it was a lie. after once he would want more and more. However, there was time enough to deal with that later.
He wanted Morelia and he KNEW Mnemozyth had a thing for Naraleth. But what if she didn't want that? It was a problem...them being in the same Wing. But one of them could transfer. He was afterall, Wingsecond to the Weyrleader. Surely he could get a Wingsecond or even Wingleader position in another Wing. Things will work out Mine. If i like a dragon i will fly her. If you like someone then that is that. Besides, His dragon added with a smirk, I plan on flying Naraleth whether you like it or not.
"Morelia. Do you. . . Do you not want Zyth to fly your Naraleth?" He asked cautiously. How the fall had this gotten so complicated!?

Morelia was on an emotional whirlwind. Naraleth was asleep and not helpiing her much, though her tail was twitching as she felt her rider's anxiety. When he pulled away from her she felt bereft for a moment. Morelia knew how to pull herself together. She could control her emotions for the time being though she wanted nothing more than to touch him again.
She decided that what would happen, would happen because the more she thought about it the more complex it became. At his question her blue eyes flew to his face. "On the contrary, I want Mnemozyth to fly Naraleth." Her voice was steady as the words poured from her. "I never meant for this to happen but I'm already glad that it did." Her straight face broadened into a smile of pure happiness.

L'kel nodded, not exactly sure what to do, what to say. Her words were exactly what he had wanted to hear. To fall what happened in the consqeunces! "Well i'm glad you don't object. For Zyth certainly has his mind set." He smiled slightly, his dark eyes gazing into her blue ones. In a second he wrapped her in his strong arms and kissed her gently but firmly. He let his lips linger for a second before drawing away almost sheepishly. "Well," He breathed into her hair, "I should probably go to the conference. Make sure to let us know when Naraleth is on the verge of rise." He walked to the threshold of the door but then stoppe,d whirling on his heel. He had to see if she wanted him to stay.
