1. Have you got a Search token?
"Aye, my uncle, P'kin, gave me one after he dropped me off in the Weyrbowl," Shereae replied, as she handed over the non-too ornate coin. It was made of a hard wood, and painted a dark blue, the same hue as his dragon. She had smiled while recieving the coin, and she kind of wanted to keep it.
"Do I get to keep this coin?" she asked. "Or do I have to give it back?"
2. Please list your name, age, and birthing day.
"Oh, my name is Shereae. I am seventeen turns, and my birthing day is in mid summer," she said, thinking of her special day. She would miss spending that day with her family.
3. Where have you come from?
"My father's holding is three days' journey from this Weyr, and the holding is a ranch, home to the herdbeasts and runner my father tithes and trades with the Weyrs." Shereae, thinking of her father, and how much she missed him, began to wring her hands in her lap. Cut that out, she thought disgustedly to herself. That is no way for a gold candidate to act.
4. Do you have any skills? Belong to a Craft?'
This was Shereae's favorite question so far. "Aye, I am proud to say I was brought up in the Beastcraft along with my brother. My specialty was with the herdbeasts, however, so I might be better off working with them in the crafttime, if I can."
5. Do you have any valuables that you would like locked up?
"No sir, no valuables. I'm afraid my mother wouldn't let me bring them. She was afraid I wouldn't have time to take care of them."
6. Did you bring any pets with you?
"I have no pets...on the ranch, we all figured that a herd of herdbeasts, thirteen runners, and one herder's canine was enough pets. And Fyr, the canine, had to stay." She smiled, thinking of the horrible, but just, revenge she now had upon her sister, Leandra. Now it would be her duty to make sure Fyr was fed in the afternoons. Shereae hoped the woman wouldn't forget.
