Dining Hall Chores: includes following any instructions the Headwoman or her Stewards may have for you. Some of these instructions may include polishing furniture, scrubbing floors, polishing silverware, filling wall sconces, switching out glows, serving food, etc.
Infirmary Chores: include following any instructions given by the Weyrhealer/Dragonhealer, Healers and their Assistants. Chores may include patient care as qualified for (bathing, reading, massages, etc), cleaning, laundry (includes all laundry), cleaning the Infirmary, etc.
Bowl Cleanup: follow the Headwoman, Master Herder and Steward’s orders. Includes raking the Bowl, getting rid of greenery, breaking firestone in the Weyr’s firepits, helping with the herdbeasts, etc.
Foraging: includes going to the beach or forest to find specific items to help supplement the supplies of the Weyr. Follow any instructions given by the Headwoman, Head Cook or the Stewards.
Latrine Duty: exactly what it sounds like. Anyone found shirking their duties or who gets into trouble will be put in this chore group. It includes cleaning all the latrines in the Weyr for both first and second chore. How long you are in this group depends on how severe your punishment is. Follow the instructions of the Headwoman or her Stewards.
(ooc: All Candidates will be assigned to a chore group after arriving at the Weyr. These chores will be posted on the bulletin board in the Candidates' Barracks and will be updated regularly. The more a Candidate shirks off, the less likely they will be to Impress. Yes, whether your Candidate does the chores or not affects their chance of Impression. After all, If your Candidate can't be depended on to do its duties now, how can it be expected to cope with its responsibilities as a Rider?)

All pets in the Weyr are going to have to earn their keep.
Dogs can either be put to work herding or learn to be spit dogs. Firelizards are natural messengers (though they're not currently allowed in this timeline). Felines can catch tunnel snakes.
I have one question to pose though... if we (the Weyr) brought you on Search, how did you get your runner to the stables? Would the Search rider be nice enough to put up with a scared feline trying to scratch his eyes out or a scared puppy wetting on him? Also, what happens to your possessive doggy or kitty when you Impress? What is yourr dragon going to think about that? Will you really have time for said pet?
This are things to consider when making a Candidate.
Giving up your pets and leaving home is all part of becoming a Candidate. You give up just about everything. You put yer career on hold, say bye to family and friends, etc. Most of you wouldn't have been farther than 30 miles from your home hold before. It's a very uncertain and emotional time for a new Candidate.
P.S.
Adult riders, you have my permission to let your dragons eat someone's dog or cat... or even runner, if you'd like. They have two days to respond trying to rescue the animal. If they don't...by all means, have a draggie snack.
If you have a pet, be sure to play that pet in your posts. They aren't just there for 'bio candy'. If so... they will be treated as such. Reread above statement.

These rules are to be followed at all times. No exceptions and no excuses.
1. If you have any problems you will report them to the Assistant Weyrling Master. If it can not be resolved in that way you may then bring it to the attention of the Weyrling Master. His answer will be final.
2. You will be expected to show respect to everyone in the Weyr, from the Weyrleaders to the drudges. Any riders who are your senior you will adress with proper titles. If you are unsure of title or rank you will address them with sir or ma'am.
3. No Weyrling will leave the Weyr without specific permission from the Weyrling Master.
4. No Weyrling will engage in sexual activities until their dragons are 14 months and then only after recieving approval from the Weyrling Master.
5. No Weyrling will fly their dragon without explicit permission and instructions until the Weyrlingmaster gives them the okay for solo flight.
6. No Weyrling will take their dragon Between without the express and explicit permission of the Weyrling Master only. Failure to follow this rule could result in the death of both you and your dragon. (Note: Failure to follow this rule will result in demotion to the lowest ranked rider in the Weyr. It will also be brought to the attention of the Weyrleaders and the Wingleaders.)
7. There will be no fighting or violence of any type. Conflict is to be brought to the Attention of the Weyrling Master.
8. You will keep your quarters and yourself clean at all times.
9. You will have no visitors in your quarters without prior consent from the Weyrling Master.
Failure to follow these rules will result in a punishment. Punishments will range from extra chores to loss of priveledges. (IC Actions = IC Consequences)

For those with either gold or green dragons, your dragon has the ability to fly in a Mating Flight.
This is the way dragonkind reproduces.
When a female dragon flies to mate, it is called ‘Rising.’ On the day of her Flight, the female dragon will feel stirrings in her gut of a strange kind and her thoughts will become angry and tumultuous, impossible for even her rider to discern, followed by a ravenous hunger. This occurs more powerfully in golds than in greens and is the first awakenings of the Flight. The desire to feed overrides all other wants of the body, driving every thought from the female’s mind except fulfilling her desires.
She is no longer a logically thinking dragon, but a creature of lust. She does not even realize what is happening to her, she only knows that her instinct is screaming at her, commanding her to fill her stomach with meat, and that is the single thought occupying all of her mind. She will then make her way to the Feeding Grounds and attempt to feed on meat.
However, female dragons laden with meat cannot fly far or fast, so it is imperative that her rider make her blood (meaning to suck the blood from, but do not eat any meat from,) her kills only.
At this moment, the dragon is a demoness, battling the will of her rider, and will fight her rider’s command to only blood the beasts. The dragon may fight her rider’s will on every beast she kills to eat, but usually after she tastes hot blood another kind of instinct will overtake her.
The female dragon, after feeling her desire switch from meat to blood, will then be filled with lust, this maddening heat that pushes her into the sky. She will then scream a challenge to the males in the Weyr, giving off a glowing aura. Golds glow more than greens.
All male dragons in the Weyr have the option of chasing a Rising female. The rider of the female will stand at the side of the Feeding Grounds, near the Flight Chambers, surrounded by the riders of the males, who will form a semicircle around her. The female dragon will then leap into the air to be followed by however many males wish to attempt to catch her. During this time, the rider’s minds fuse with their dragon’s and they are like one, duplicating all of their dragon’s acts.
They are unaware of what they themselves are doing in their own bodies. The riders feel and see everything their dragons do, and it is as if the humans are no more, and dragons have been born in human form.
After the dragons leap off, the riders are lead back to the female’s weyr or to the Flight Chambers, whichever are closer, to finish the Flight. Finally, after many tricks and teasings, the female will be caught and the dragons will mate in midair, the male supporting them both.
In the Weyr, both riders will be filled with their dragon’s emotions–lust–and they themselves will have sex as well. If the Flight was that of a gold, three sevendays after the Mating Flight the female will lay the eggs in the Hatching Sands, and a sevenday later they will hatch.
((OOC, the Player of the female dragon will chose which male catches her dragon))
Golds and greens have the same basic habits during mating time, but there are a few exceptions to each.
Green Flight Information:
A green will Rise to mate several times a year, anywhere from 4-6 times, or every 6 to 8 weeks. A few days or so before she Rises to mate, she and her rider will become irritable, especially with men. When overtaken with her desire to feed, a green will usually only battle her rider’s will for a short time, and give in to her commands after a herdbeast or two. They normally do not blood or eat. If they do, they take only one or two herdbeasts and are as likely to blood as they are to eat the flesh.
The aura she gives off when ready to mate is soft, and her challenging call is usually answered by browns and blues. Though sometimes, it is not uncommon for a bronze to mate a green. This is a normal occurrence and the riders in this Flight should not react to the intimate time they shared; the Weyr thinks nothing of these relations since they cannot be stopped. No eggs will come of this mating.
Gold Flight Information:
A gold Rises only once or twice a year, so these Flights are considered special. Neither she nor her rider become very irate before a Flight. When feeling her desire for meat, a gold is very strong-willed, fighting her rider’s dominion and commands with a viciousness that could overwhelm weaker women.
Her aura is a powerful pulse that beckons all males to fly for her, though she is most commonly caught by a bronze. However, a young gold could perhaps be mated by a larger, more powerful brown if the bronzes are young and her desire for him is great. This Flight is also important, however, not only because it bears eggs, but because the rider of the male who catches the senior queen becomes Weyrleader.
A clutch will always come from a gold flight, though the number of eggs depends on the male who caught her and how long she flew.
