(Turn 2507, Mid-morning Inbur Weyrhold, First Spring Gather of the Turn)
R'lan rubbed his temples as he waited in line for two glasses of mulled wine at the Vinter's stand. It was far too early to be up, anything before the nooning was far too early after what he and L'nuo had stayed out doing, all in the name of Helios and an extra mark in your pocket... he would never complain of the extra marks and of course they had needed to sample the Dragon's Breath before they could transport it. It was proving to be an ill advised thing though...he hadn't taken into account the fact that Shereae was more than a tenacious early riser, something that after a half turn of sharing the same bed he should have remembered.
Shereae wouldn't have it any other way, she hadn't even let him sleep in a little bit this morning. She'd said something about wanting to be able to see the ship races and didn't want to miss a moment of the dancing. Furrowing his brows together, R'lan paid the man from his over full coin pouch and took their cups... 'Where is she?'

Shereae was a girl with rather fire lizard-like tendencies; a glimpse of something shiny sent her entirely off-course. She had been walking behind R'lan to the vinter's stand, but she had seen a belt buckle in the smith's tent that was in the shape of a rampant bronze dragon. From there, she had noticed the beautiful copper necklace, and then the awesome steel of a sword. When she'd turned to leave, across the way had been a tanner's booth, and so she went into it to see what she could see. There was a pretty blue belt, not harper's blue, but more of a turquoise hue. She admired it, and turned once again to leave when she noticed a cute pair of moccasins. She felt them; the hide was supple and giving, but still strong enough to withstand under-foot stones. She smiled and left the tent, and when she did, she saw the glint of glass in the sun. Following the glimpse, she was led to a glass-blower's tent, where many pretty beads, goblets, and other artifacts hung.
Needless to say, by the time R'lan had gotten their mead, she had wandered long and far. She spied him looking around for her, and snickered. Sneaking up quietly behind him, she took her cup out of his hand. "Thank you, R'lan," she said, after a sip. She gave him her most charming grin and winked at him.

"I was wondering where you had gotten off to." A lopsided half grin eased its way on the dragonrider's well chisled face, he tried to keep a grumpy look but Shereae had a way of making one forget why you were not in a good mood. Pulling her close he rested his arm over her shoulder as he headed them toward several tables. "Your welcome lovely. So... what did you find that you can't live without?" R'lan knew her well enough to know she only put on that grin when she wanted something.

He knew her so well. Darling, sweet man. "There was a really well-made pair of moccasins in the tanner's booth." Shereae smiled sweetly. Her fingers intertwined with his on her shoulder. She tried to appeal to his practical side. "They were well-tanned and the leather is of fine quality." She sipped more of her mead and let herself be guided to the tables. You really did get him up to early, she thought to herself, but it only made her grin wider. Kissing his hand, she did her best to look completely innocent.

Taking a sip from his cup the rider settled into a slow stride and began to relax and enjoy having Sherea tucked in close to his side. The Helios man was far from over the novelty of passion the young woman brought to his life.
"A pair of slippers?" R'lan looked at the red head dubiously, his eyebrows going up in animation. She had several pair of shoes of all kinds, more than most candidates could claim... what did she need with another pair "Are you sure you have need of another pair?" The moment the words left the Brownrider's mouth he could have kicked himself. 'Stupid...'
