((wasn't sure where to put this just yet, so... ))
Thread appears at predictable intervals in predictable locations. It is a mindless foe. Remember that, it doesn't care... it isn't alive. It traverses between three timezones, covering twenty degrees longitude northeast to southwest.
Leading Edge is the term used to denote the wave of Thread advancing during a Fall. At sea level, it is visibe on the horizon thirty minutes before it will be over head, making it easy to spot and forewarn those in the direct line of contact.
Following, or Trailing Edge is the term used to denote the line behind which no thread fell. Once the Trailing Edge is in view, fighters know that the Fall is about to end. Remember to keep fighting and flaming until after you are well past the Trailing Edge and your Wingleaders have given the all clear.
Lag Time between attacks: In the middle of a Pass, 2-3 days occurs between Falls. At the beginning and End of a Pass there will be more lag time. It's almost like we get a periode to break into it... lucky us.
How long does a Fall last? Roughly four hours. You have to learn to maximise your dragon's flaming ablity and his strength. Take that to heart, blue and green riders.

Hey Dizzy, I'm going to correct one of those questions of yours, just because I've been doing a lot of research on it so that I can construct our threadcharts.... *grins*
Lag Time Time between falls change throughout a pass, long in the beginning and end and very short in the middle.
In the begining it is as long as 8-14 days inbetween a fall (different sources don't agree) and in the middle it gets as short as 14 hours.... so it's quite possible to have multipule falls in the same day...
You can also have a 'double fall' which is when thread is falling in two places at the same time. After looking at a thousand different charts, I've found that it is actually common for thread to fall in four places at once... the chances of two or three of them falling on land is rare, however, and its even rarer that it should fall where we fly.... or would be if we were just playing the north.
Playing south as well, gives us a larger protection area and therefore greater chances of having 'double falls' or even a rare 'triple fall'. Hope you guys are ready...
