Pets: none
Appearance:
He isn’t exactly a handsome guy though he more than makes up for it in personality. He is broad shouldered and tall, standing at about 6’6”. As most riders he is in shape, though Z'rion became in shape while fishing on his father's boat, lugging heavy objects...the normal fisherman life, except now he doesn't smell like a fisherman. His abs are not the best part of his build but rather his arms, which seem to curve perfectly when he moves an arm. His back too has a hidden sex appeal as his back is muscled in a good way.
He has blonde curly hair and brown eyes that are matched by his dark eyebrows. His hair is long, just past shoulder length and though he knows it should be shorn off he has not found it in himself to say goodbye to the golden locks. As he doesn’t like to have facial hair he is clean shaven.
He tends to wear a smile on his face and seems to be very young in his appearance. His face has no real wrinkles or scars. Z’rion has a straight nose, though large and tight lips that seem to be drawn upward in a smirk whenever it isn’t in his often lopsided smile. His hands are large, but not really nice to look at as they are callused and rough from hard labor. He has numerous scars all over him from playing in the ocean and in the tropical forests around his home. Z'rion has a sparse amoutn of blonde hair on his chest along with his arms, though his lages do not share the same fate.
He had a tanned body before coming to the Weyr though it has been leaving slowly since he impressed his bronze as he has been inside more often doing work, rather than outside without a shirt on, fishing. Z'rion has a feel of ruggedness about him which tends to make him seem like a big scary guy, though he is nothing of the sort. People can always hear Z'rion, for his voice is deep and carries easily over any crowd. Even when talking softly it seems like he talks louder than the average person.
On a normal day he wears a light weight white tunic and a pair of loose fitting black pants. He also has his riding outfit which consists mainly of his riding leathers and jacket. He has his riding boots and though he tends to only wear them when he knows he is going to be riding he should probably wear them more once he graduates.
Personality:
Even as a small child Zarion was one of those people; the ones who hold mischief in their hearts and a twinkle in their eyes. He enjoys anything and everything as a thrill seeker. New things interest him more than the same old same old. Z’rion has a feeling of immortality that tends to leave us when we get old. He lives everyday to its fullest. When he makes a good friend its on a number for everyone likes him for his outgoing, fun loving behavior. He accepts authority for the most part but doesn’t exactly follow the rules. He won’t break the rules either, just bends them a little.
His behavior often got him kicked off his father’s boat and back to his mother. He rarely went straight home and would go toward the main part of the cothold and talk to the old sailors, who would in turn buy him something to drink. He is very knowledgeable and knows it. He does have trouble with people who are disrespectful to others. Eventhough he can be a rowdy type of person he does not do things to anger others. Also Z'rion is not ambitious and never dreamed of being a Weyrleader. He would much rather be a bronze rider without too much responsibility. After all he needs time to have fun.
Z’rion does try often scary antics on Viderieth. Not that the bronze minds because he too likes to do dangerous things. There is no wonder the Weyrlingmaster has his hands full. Even the least serious wish to be taken seriously, Z'rion is no exception. Z’rion often feel that people only see him as a clown and think that he knows less than others, which is entirely untrue. He too can concern himself with worldly affairs; he just chooses to keep his nose out of things that are not his responsibility. Besides it leaves him more time to pull pranks on other riders. If any of the other Weyrlings need advice they go to Z'rion because he is one of those wise, situation understanding people. He knows how to solve problems easily in his mind. Z'rion is cocky and will let things get to his head, so don't encourage him too much. He is after all a Bronze rider even if he is still a Weyrling.
History:
Zarion was born into an already large family in Miamhoil seahold. He has more cousins than he can name. Personally he would not have it any other way. He was born three turns after his sister Dekalla to be number seven of ten children. He figured it was his job to cause dissolution in the family. He was always the one people turned to for advice. For some reason he seemed to agree with life and vice versa. His parents tried as always to teach him to be a responsible, and very stable person but Zarion often learned by actions and not words. His mother and father were both risk takers and always liked putting themselves into the center of a fray rather then stand back and watch. That was why they loved the ocean.
His father was a good journeyman fisher. He often went out in all sorts of weather to get fish. One time his father did not return for days. Zarion, feeling it was his responsibility to help his mother helped her take care of his baby brother and sister while his father was gone. Eventually he was found washed up on shore. Zarion's brothers carried him home. eventually his father woke a grin on his face and a strange story he wished to tell them. He claimed that ship fish had saved him. Everyone told him that it could not be true for as much as people believed ship fish were a myth his father was insisting their existence was reality and that was something that people could not concede.
At about the age of six, Zarion went fishing with his father for the first time. When he came back wiht the one fish he had actually caught, he swore it was the best, most big fish there ever was. His brothers and sisters claimed the opposite, but Zarion responded saying it was indeed the best fish ever and that mother should cook it and find out. He always had that indomitable spirit. His father could never keep him workign on the boat, he would cause so much trouble that he was sent back to his mother, by midday, though Zarion never went home, he would talk to old sailors, or go looking for treasure in the tropical forests. He loved treasure hunts and often buried something and would go back months later and dig it up.
To this day Zarion too feels the call of the sea with the sharp breeze and the spray of the salty waters. He could not have imagined his life without it. That was until the dragonrider came. A middle-aged man on a blue dragon saw Zarion helping his father at the fishing wharf. He continued to help even as they were approached. The younger man had no idea what was going on so he just went about doing his business before the rider said something. "Hello. I'm from Sodalis Weyr on search."
Zarion smiled at him and said, "Who would you be looking for?"
"You actually." The man said calmly. Knowing that some people were all too content with their current lives.
"Me?" Zarion looked at his father who smiled at him and nodded.
"Yes, have you ever fancied being a dragonrider?"
"Well...I had not thought of it recently..."
"My dragon seems to think their is a dragonet for you at Sodalis. Are you coming?"
"I'm in. Just let me say a quick farewell."
Upon arriving at the Weyr, Zarion fell in love with the atmosphere and the w ay people went about their bussiness, even though he smissed his beautiful home, one of the most if not the most beautiful place on all of Pern. Miamhaoil...even the name made him think of long white sand beaches, tropical forests and a climate most could only dream of. The Weyr life suited him just fine, though he wouldn't have minded less work, he was never one to not do a task he was given. After a about two sevendays of Weyrlife as a candidate, the clutch on the sands began to hatch, and like any other siteen turnn old, Zarion quickly made for the sands, half haZardly throwing onthe candidate robes.
The sixteen turn old was not long and before he knew it he was at Sodalis Weyr standing on hatching sands listening to the hum of the male dragons as they surrounded their golden Queen and her eggs, their children. The first egg to hatch was a small blue who quickly found his mate it was not long before several other eggs had hatched including a brown. About halfway into this hatching the brown egg was burst open by a very active bronze dragonet. The Bronze dragonet walked up to him in a very outgoing manner. Zarion stood his ground and met the multifaceted eyes in a wonderful way which spread a warm emotion throughout his body and mind. Z’rion we need to eat. Viderieth wants food. "His name is Viderieth!" He shouted and walked off the sands with the gawky Bronze in tow.
Naturally the young pair were a match for each other from the get go. Z'rion was no longer just getting by on a small boat with his father. Now people expected so much more from him. He was more than capable of doing what was expected but tended to ruin that with their antics. They started off just pranking the other Weyrlings but things had progressed and recently they had been accused of but not caught pulling a prank on the Weyrlingmaster.
They do not stay in trouble long but are generally back in it soon. Z'rion and Viderieth know they are supposed to be the examples for their class but they feel more liek having some fun and driving the weyrlingmaster crazy, which is something they are exceptional at. Currently they are doing their Weyrling practices, lesson and chores. There is little time to really get into trouble.
