Character Information
Name: Tschermak (“sure-mah-k” the T is silent)
Nickname: Mak (“M-ah-k”)
Gender: Male
Age/Birthday: 6 turns old; late fall birthing day
Orientation: Straight. Completely so.
Location: Lateo Weyr
Rank: Fostered Weyrbrat; Originally from Terra Hold
Family: The son of Lord Cautes and Lady Mivera, Tschermak is a son of Terra Hold. The fifth child, he was what some called an ‘oops’ child. Three older brothers and an older sister, all were over ten turns older than him. Lady Mivera found herself unsure about his chances at the hold and so arranged for him to be fostered over to Lateo Weyr at age five.
Lord Cautes ~ 57 ~ Terra hold
Lady Mivera ~ 59 ~ Terra hold
Son Julin ~ 24 ~ Terra Hold
Son Ventron ~ 23 ~ Terra Hold
Son Maldran ~ 21 ~ Fostered to Lateo Weyrhold
Daughter Ceptra ~ 20 ~ Terra Hold
Son Tschermak ~ 6 ~ Fostered to Lateo Weyr
Pets: None.
Appearance: Standing a proud 3’6”, Tschermak is not one to worry about his height even though he is often looking up at everyone. Blonde hair is in the ‘bowl-cut’ style and is due for another trim. The blonde hair tickles his eyebrows but do not hide the playful blue eyes. Like any six-turn-old, Tschermak has a smile that makes his eyes squint and forms slight dimples in his cheeks. Laughter is one thing that follows this boy everywhere and he is rarely seen without a smile on his face. A small pair of overalls is his usual dress, whether a shirt accompanies or not is up to the weather.
Only six turns old, Tschermak does not yet show any unique features. So young, it is hard to tell if he will have a strong jaw-line or even if he’ll be built like many in his family. Even his hair color could still darken slightly with age. It is hard to tell what Tschermak may have in store for the ladies of the future, but if he takes after his cousins, they will not be disappointed.
Personality: Tschermak is what you would call a well behaved kid… if there were such a thing. Polite to elders and nice to the children younger than him, Tschermak loves to make new friends. While you wouldn’t think a six turn old would find much to say, he defiantly finds his fair share and at the same time always manages to listen to everything around him, even if he doesn’t understand half of it.
A curious boy, Tschermak never means to cause mischief, but rather stubbles upon it unknowingly. Never one to question the adults, he sometimes wonders about the older weyrbrats and the games they play on the younger ones, such as himself. He sees them messing with one of his peers every so often and is always there afterwards consoling his friends. He has not yet, however, stood up for one or has needed to stand up for himself. Should he find the need to though, he would not be an easy one to shake off as he would always get up after being knocked down.
History: Lord Cautes had been very surprised to hear that his wife was again with child. After their daughter, the healers had cautioned against having any more. At the news of yet another kid, the two sat and talked it over for a long time, knowing full well that a trip between would make her barren and such a trip was not beyond the asking of the Lord of Terra. Lady Mivera, however, did not wish to kill her child before it had time to reach the sunlight. After long hours of thought, it was agreed that they would fight for both her and the child’s life. It did, in fact, become a fight for life and while the baby boy was born healthy, he left his mother well torn and losing blood fast. The night was one that lasted forever, but the morning sun brought into view a mother and her son both happy and alive.
The older children took very well to their new baby brother, each finding some special way to spoil him. It was, however, not meant to last. After much debate with her husband and third son, Lady Mivera finally agreed to let her son, Maldran, foster over to Burach Hold in persuit of a journeyman knot in the beast craft. It was at this time that she looked at her four-turn old boy knowing very well that he too would learn that Terra held no place for the youngest sons of holders. Not wanting to suffer the pain of hearing another son beg to leave, Mivera decided that it would be best to send him away before he could ask to go.
It was agreed with the Headwomen of Lateo Weyr that Terra Hold would take several of the children in the Weyr in exchange of several from the hold. This would result in a mix of blood to refresh both Weyr and Hold. Putting her son’s name on the list, he was hugged for the last time by his mother in his fifth turn. With a wooden toy knife and a small bag of cloths, he trotted up to the women who he’d learn was the head of the crèche and his new ‘mother’.
Tschermak had not seen his mother or father since being fostered, but he had received a present from them on his six birthing day. A silver necklace with a small black stone in the shape of a tear-drop, he placed it on his neck letting the long chain hang inside his shirt. He hasn’t taken it off yet and doesn’t plan on it. It hangs next to the wooden knife that he keeps tucked in his trousers.
Do you want this char Searched? Well he’s already at the weyr… it’ll be a while though… heh…
Color Preference Well… With it being a good 8 turns away… we’ll not worry about that just yet.
