Rider Information
Name: Corra
Gender: female
Age/Birthday: 16 born in Northern Winter
Orientation: strait
Location: Lateo
Rank/Wing: Jr. Weyrwoman, Weyrling
Standing: As a duty bound woman Corra will do what ever the Weyr leader tells her to do, even though her heart says that it is the dragon riders responsibility and purpose to protect all of the holds including those on the Northern Continent.
Family: Corra is the oldest daughter of five children with three younger brothers and one sister. Her parents mirages where arranged when her mother was only 10 and her father 21 after his first wife died. They where married two months after Yiruka turned 18 and Tokrno 29 and soon learned to love each other. Yiruka never questioned her mirage to Tokmo knowing that it was not her place to argue and never holding any allusions to true love as a young girl. The next turn Yiruka gave birth to their first child, a girl. Though disappointed at first both parents loved there daughter. But they would not allow her to have any thoughts other then those befitting a young girl of her station. As such two turns later when her brother was born she was responsible for taking care of him though he would always have a say over her as he grew older. All of her family is alive and well though they are all living on the Northern Continent and are under the impression that she is dead. Their names and ages are as follows.
Tokrno (father) [46] a striked yet kind man who knows how to keep women in there place with out using abuse, he is a farmer.
Yiruka (mother) [35] an old-fashioned woman who believes that women are below men and that they are fit for only having and caring for children as well as cooking cleaning and sewing, she is a house wife
Corra (PC) [16] see personality below
Gerot (brother) [14] young and yet very responsible, he knows that he is the oldest male and just under dad in the family chain though he never disrespects his oldest sister he sometimes uses her gender against her to get what he wants.
Hetrot (brother) [12] much more spoiled then any of his siblings this brother tries to pull the ‘man’ card as often as possible but with very little success as Corra is 4 turns older then him and though she is a girl she is still higher in rank then him.
Veltron (brother) [10] very much like Corra in that he dose what he is told with out question though he is not as naive as his sister.
Notra (sister) [8] the youngest member of the family is having a bit more trouble then the rest in finding her place, preferring to play with the boys and get dirty to staying in the house Notra is a constant head ache to her parents and older sister who she finds to be very boring.
Fretrick (fiancé) [19] a good man with old ideas. From a good family he has never been denied anything and no woman has said no to his advances.
Pets: a large black and white female feline by the name of Tomicra though Corra calls her Tom for short. Lonely and confused when she fist arrived at the Weyr Corra found Tom when she was just a kitten in the lower caverns. When no one clamed her Corra took her as her own.
Appearance: Standing at an average height of 5’4” and built trim from a lifetime of work Corra would be attractive if she would just allow herself to be. Possessing good curves and smooth skin Corra’s long sensual neck is accented by her wavy brown hair falling down to her waist as it is not ‘proper’ for a woman to cut her hair. Her idea of reviling cloths is a low cut neck (not even showing cleavage) or a sleeveless dress, pants are not an option for women in her eyes, and the dresses she dose where go to the ankles where they are met with soft satin slippers for indoors or low soft leather boots for working out doors.
Once owning dresses of all makes and colors Corra’s favorite and most flattering color is wood green which brings out the green in her hassle eyes. Those eyes are the most fascinating thing about her though they are not uncommon. They seem to change colors with her moods and emotions becoming a deep brown when she is lying, even flattering polite white lies, and green when she really wants something. But for the most part they stay the average brownish green of hassle. Sadly all of her many clothes where left at Southern Boll when she left for the Weyr. But she is slowly rebuilding her repertoire, using her own highly developed sewing skills and for lack of dying skills she has been taking her time to embroider designs on her few formal dresses.
With the job of taking care of a gold weyrling however Corra rarely finds time to wear her formal dresses for anything more then dinner and indoor lessons, but when she can she dose and it looks just plain painful. Though she doesn’t have a corset her posture is striate as a pole with her head sitting just right on top of her neck and spine. Never dose she slouch or fold her shoulders. Even when she is working, scrubbing Eileith and doing chores she is upright and proper at all times, willing to get dirty and wet for the sake of her dragon she will never go anywhere else with out taking a bath first.
Personality: The model of a perfect daughter and girl in the eyes of her father, Corra can only be described as meek and timid, never questioning what is told to her or what she is told to do unless it is a task unbefitting a woman or a woman of her station. For Corra was of a higher class on the Northern Content, her father being a minor holder of a good sized hold. As such she knew her place amongst the men of her class and higher and was always polite to those lower then her even if it was almost pompous politeness. This attitude has followed her to the Weyr no mater how different or open it is compared to the holds and to the North. Her sincere kindness is given too the other gold and bronze riders and some browns who’s attitude is that befitting a gentle man, she offers only the required amount of curtsey to the blue riders and barely concealed contempt for the green riders, not at all accustomed to gay men and liking even less female riders of any color but gold (it just isn’t natural)
That is not to say that impression did not change her. When she first came to the Weyr she was exited and happier then she had been in all her 15 turns. The magic of the moment wore off quickly however and she became timid frightened and withdrawn, avoiding everyone she came in contact with. But as soon as Eileith caught her eyes her confidence returned and she became much more sociable and sure of herself, though she still is not conferrable with correcting people on there own homeland she will still turn her nose up visibly at the actions and clothes of her fellow riders. Though she is not unkind, just a tad snobbish, she will give her right arm for those who need it as that is her duty as a leading member of the Weyr.
Frightened of blood, both her own and others, Corra subconsciously fears the day when she will be called to tend the wounded of thread fall though that is not to say she will be lax in her duties as a Jr Weyr Woman. She is very good at keeping and caring for records, as her mother instead that she be well educated for her future marriage, and she is good at organizing almost any team for any task after being in charge of organizing the drudges and children in her small hold.
History: Corra was born only a turn after her mothers arranged union with the widower and minor holder Tokrno bur remained their only child for only two turns before her brother was born. As soon as she was old enough she was given the responsibilities of helping her mother run the medium sized hold which was responsible fore raising and cultivating one of Southern Boll’s largest cotton plantations. Drilled from birth that it was her responsibility to act as a good woman should, Corra matured very quickly and took to her role as subservient daughter but leading organizer and care taker naturally. When she was four her mother had another son and at six another one. Despite this her family insisted that she be well educated and sent her to live in Fort hold with her uncle, her fathers brother, so that she could be educated in the place where the teachers of Pern, the Harpers where trained.
While living at Fort Corra was taken in and began training in the only craft a woman was good for, weaving. She was very adept in the art considering her 8 turns of age. She continued to live there and train for four turns, her embroidery skills becoming quite developed along with her ego and proper lady training. When she was 12 her marriage was arraigned by her father and she was called home to learn the skills only a runner of a hold could teach her. Older now Corra was given more responsibility in the hold, organizing the drudges and caring for her younger sister, who delighted in giving her a head ache and defying her every command.
She met her future husband on her fifteenth birthday, when him and his family came to visit and to meet her. Unlike most of the women the handsome man had managed to woo in the dark of night Corra was not very taken with him, though she played the hostess very well and never once questioned their future marriage. That was until he got her alone. It seemed that the young man was not at all pleased with her performance, though not unkind in the eyes of her parents and his, he took on a hole new face when they where left alone to ‘get to know each other’. He had been drinking heavily all night and once alone he began to make his advances. Confused and frightened at the sudden change in the man Corra backed away from him distancing herself physically as well as mentally, when she asked what he was doing he pounced. The effects of the wine had taken their toll however and he missed as she ran to the side and out the doors. Once outside she continued to run not caring or seeing where she was going until she ran into something hard, another man.
The dragonrider had arrived earlier that night when his bronze had informed him of a potential candidate for the gold on the Lateo sands. Taking advantage of her panicked state the bronze rider managed to convince her that it was her duty as a woman of Pern to help the people by impressing a gold and explaining to her that it is one of the most respected positions on all of Pern. Finally agreeing Corra took flight for the first time and arrived at Lateo eight seconds later. It only took a day for her to regret her rash move, the Weyr and its entire people where wrong in almost every way, from the female riders too the male green riders who flew with other men. Appalled she drew within herself and refused to leave her barracks expect to do her chores. In was on one of these occasions when she found one of the drudge’s felines had had kittens in an old hardly used storage room.
Finding new purpose in caring for the young feline, Corra didn’t have long to wait before she was given real purpose as only a few months later the welcoming song of dragons began to fill the Weyr.

Dragon Information
Name: Eileith
Color: Gold
Age: 1 turn
Description: At almost full size Eileith is looking to be an average sized gold, neither large nor small in comparison to her sisters. Her smooth hide is the shade of burnished antiqued gold on the top of her back and ridges fading to a lighter softer powder gold. Her wings have the same color patterns as her body with the darker gold being near the bone of the wings and the lighter shades near the end of the soft almost clear membrane.
Personality: As regale as ten lady holders Eileith loves nothing more then preening in the sun or baiting in the ocean. Like her sisters she holds a commanding presents over her fellow dragons, this is complemented by the opinions and attitudes of her very class obsessive rider. And though she is much more tolerant to peoples differences and dose not understand her riders obsession with image and fashion, she dose command the respect of all but the Sr. Golds and Bronzes.
History: Corra entered the hatching grounds with all of the other candidates in a haze, still not believing why she was there at all. She seemed numb as around her candidates where killed and others terribly injured by the creatures they had been waiting so long for. In side however she was horrified and stunned despite her proud posture and calm exterior. Staring fixedly at the gold egg rocking before her Corra could say the very moment the first crack appeared on the smooth gold service. She continued to stand unfazed as the egg split into a thousand little peaces sending them flying into the candidates, she didn’t even blink as the starving gold mauled two presumptions girls who dared to get in her way. She didn’t even notice the gold heading her way until one gold wing blocked the view of the blood staining the sands. Finally looking up Corra felt all of her worries melt away; this was exactly where she was meant to be, here with Eileith.
The candidate master as well as anyone who had talked to her before she impressed noticed an immediate change in Corra she became more confident and though she still turned her nose up at the goings on of the weyrfolk she had the constant support of Eileith. Eileith had known from the moment her shell had cracked that the girl standing so proud and calm was meant for her, she looked like a queen in human skin and Eileith would have no one ells.
In Weyrling training Corra and Eileith showed grudging respect for the Weyrling Master a female brown rider with, in Corra’s mind, ideas above her station as a woman. Wiling to get dirty if it meant cleaning Eileith Corra spent her spare time making dresses of light weight that she could get dirty and clean easily. Never missing a class Corra and Eileith did their work with minimal socialization; that was to be left for social time. Not immensely popular amongst her fellow weyrlings few of them really hatred her as she would give her arm for any of them even if she did disapprove of there actions or life stiles. Eileith took well to all of her lessons wanting to prove that as a gold she would be superior to all of her ‘lower’ siblings.

Corra sat upright stiff as a board on the edge of her seat in the small room. This was a most unusual lesson, only half of the weyrlings where there, her and the green riders, with an older rider also a green rider at the head of the class. She didn’t need to count to know that most of the riders there where men and that all where looking at each other nervously. Folding her hands delicately in her lap Corra looked to her neighbor one of the few female riders in the room, “what do you suppose this lesson is all about?” she tried to sound board and succeeded until the answer came. “Mating flights. All the blue brown and bronze riders are in another room.”
She sounded exited but Corra clenched her teath tighter together not sure what to say on the subject, what is wrong mine? You are troubled about the lesson? Corra’s hands clinched on her lap, no I’m fineyour lying… that is not normal for you relaxing both her hands and her jaw Corra smiled a small hardly noticeable smile as she looked straight ahead, her eyes clouded in the expression of a dragonrider speaking to her dragon, your right I’m sorry love, I’m just nervous. I have already heard story’s about this. her conversation was interrupted however with the adult rider taping impatiently on the desk at the front of the room.
Blinking to clear her mind and eyes Corra focused immediately on the lesson only to find her hands clenching tightly again. He was explaining the changes in attitude expected of dragons and riders and silently Corra vowed never to loose control like he was saying she would, she was stronger then that, stronger then them. She didn’t have much time to think about it however as the instructor quickly moved on, it seemed to her that he wanted to get through this part as quickly as possible to move on to the real ‘meat’ of a flight.
He was talking know about bloodying the kills before a flight on how them as the rider had to control the earnest of the dragons to gorge, he explained the rage and passion that would come flowing from dragon to rider. Corras jaw tightened again as she continued to stair almost impassively at the teacher, she just couldn’t imagine Eileith ever enraged at her or becoming so bestial. Then suddenly the lecture tuned, as he began to assure the weyrlings that there was no obligation to the rider of the dragon who flew there respective females, and that once the flight was over everyone went their separate ways with no hard feelings and little lingering emotional attachment. That made her lift one delicate eyebrow, emotional attachment? What did dragons mating have to do with the riders? The answer soon came.
With a flourish he moved on almost too eagerly to what happened to a rider during a flight. Corras eyes widened as he jaw relaxed to hang partly open. Her hand clenched ever tighter onto each other her delicate fingernails digging deep gouges into her palms. It couldn’t be true it was impossible, she would never loose control to such wild passions those desires, those where the down fall of all society, mating was only for reproduction. Mating was supposed to be between a husband and a wife not between some random bronze or brown rider! It was impossible, she just kept saying again and again as her nails dug deeper and deeper into the soft flesh of her hands. She searched her mind for Eileith wanting the gold to assure her that this was not going to happen to her, that this was for greens only, but the gold was fast asleep and she was told to be here as well.
Corra remained sitting even as the room empted of boddys, she managed a reassuring smile to the teacher as he too left the room leaving her alone. Each weryling had had a different look on his or her face, ranging from excitement to horror similar to her own. Once the room was empty of all life Corra managed to pry her hands apart and looking down saw her new blue dress stained with her own blood dripping slowly from her hands. Standing slowly Corra shook visibly and once up she moved stumbling for the corner to be sick. Wiping the sick from her mouth with the edge of her ruined skirt she continued to repeat to herself again and again, it cant be true, it wont happen to me.
Reason for a gold (118)
I have been playing in online RPG’s like this one for Four years know and though only two of them where in the wonderful world of Pern I think I am ready for the responsibilities of a gold rider both in character and out of character. I have played every other color to the satisfaction of my fellow players and I would like to round out my experiences in this world and game with this gold rider. I believe she is original in her design and personality with plenty of room to grow and develop with the game and its other players. If anymore information is needed about this rider or about me I will gladly give it.
