Name: Nragod
Character Information
Name: Glepgh
Gender: Male
Age/Birthday: Nineteen turns with a fall birthing day.
Orientation: Heterosexual though most of the time he seems painfully uninterested of such things. I pity the girl who wishes to catch his eye.
Location: Sodalis Weyr though he was originally from Inbur and a son to one of the rouge sailors there who are constantly trying to push for trade to the north.
Rank: Candidate, one of the least liked ones.
Family: Glepgh was the son of a sailor, his mother a lowly drudge and an easy woman. As soon as he was able, Glepgh left his mother to never wonder of her again. Instead, he left with his father and quickly caught on to not just how to sail a ship, but learned the language and behavior so easily tagged to the rough men of the sea. If he has siblings, he knows nor cares anything about them.
Pets: None.
Appearance: While Glepgh is still young enough to grow, the young man has begun to slow in his race to the sky; a race currently standing at a good six feet four inches. Unlike most boy’s his age, Glepgh does not have the lanky structure that comes with growth spurts. Instead, his body seemed to have kept up with the sprint quite well, filling him out as it grew. Working the riggings on his father’s ship, Glepgh has grown strong arm and upper back muscles. His dark tan has done nothing but accent the finely chiseled muscles beneath his skin.
His face, though rarely with a smile, is just as finely chiseled, showing a strong jaw and accented cheekbones. Dark brown eyebrows match his dark hair and show off his dangerously dark eyes. His overall appearance is one of an older man, a serious one but from the looks of it, one easily able to make a woman feel loved in his curiously strong arms.
Usually dressed in the practical clothes of a sailor, Glepgh is rarely found in formal clothing. A man for the tight, yet flexible, brown pants and a very loose, baggy shirt that allowes the wind to cool a heated body, he is usually found in plain colors such as black or white for the top. Two orniments adorn his body though his personality may strike many as a man who'd think little of such things. The first is a necklace of shells that he wears about his neck. The other is a single golden stud in his right earlobe. Both have their worths to him, though only one would be worth a few marks at a gather should he ever find need for them.
Personality: While his dark appearance may give off the idea that Glepgh is a mysterious man, it is quite the opposite. Everything anyone needs to know about the young man can be seen from a distance. First off, he doesn’t like people. Plain and simple, they get on his nerves. Happiest was he when he was out to sea and away from the majority of the wherry-headed population.
A man of little love, he has a uniquely cold way of turning away any woman who might be dumb enough to think they can catch his eye or capture his heart. If his simple ignorance of them even existing were not enough, he is painfully blunt when they can’t take the hint or continue to annoy him. A quick man to anger, he usually handles it by simply leaving the room or with silence. Once he reaches the point of wishing to take action, however, you’d be best to stay out of his reach. His strong arms are hard to break free from.
Even with these simple attributes that make him an easily unlikable man, Glepgh does have some good qualities as well. Having been raised by his father, he does not question work or orders when they are given to him so long as the work is physical. Top when it comes to a strength or endurance drill, his most obvious weakness is his long-distance running. A man use to the short length of a boat, he can manage the short dashes well enough but long distance leaves him unsatisfied with himself and angry with the world around him.
History: There is not much to say about Glepgh’s history. Despite his early years growing up with his drudge mother, he couldn’t help but feel that she was the lowest form a human could take. Wishing to be rid of her quickly and finding a different lifestyle, Glepgh left with his father at eight turns to never return to his heartbroken mother again. He does not know or care what might have become of her.
The last eleven turns of his life found him sleeping beneath the deck of the Apora, his father’s ship. The boy, determined to raise his status in the world, worked hard and learned fast. While everything he learned was not exactly what would have been desirable, those turns upon the ship have proved to harden him into the man he is today.
While Glepgh would have been apparent to nearly any dragon as a good candidate, he had always managed to be out at see whenever the search dragons came to port. Such was his luck that he went unnoticed until he was nearly too old to impress anyways. The dragonriders, finally catching him on dry land, did not hesitate on bringing the man with them. He only had time for one clutch, two if he was lucky, until he’d be seen as too old. As it was, Glepgh told the riders they’d have once chance to deter him from a life a sea; once chance, one hatching. If there was no impression he’d be gone again without a second thought to the weyrs.
Color Preference: Whichever you feel is most appropriate to match his disposition.
