How you heard of LW: been playing here for a while
Rider Information
Name: T'den (Tanden)
Gender: Male
Age/Birthday: 36/Mid-Spring
Orientation: Homosexual
Location: Lateo
Rank/Wing: Wingrider/Sidus Wing
Standing: T'den believes the holders and crafters of the North are worth saving because they are like ignorant babes. He is big on mercy and will protect the people of Pern.
Family: His mother's name was Srinda, and she is sixty-four years old. She is a creche nanny, and even in her somewhat old age, she still loves to take care and watch over the children. As a mother, she was never entirely strict with Tanden, and actually, the whole Lower Caverns watched the boy, instead of just her. Her other children were raised in much the same way.
T'den's father is Nalo, and he is a sixty-seven year old cook. His specialty are the bubbly pies he makes for children. He, like Srinda, never actually took an active role in his chilren's lives, but he was there for any support they might need. He was a tiny bit more strict the Srinda, but only because he was their father.
Granier is his brother, older by three turns and far more agressive and competitive. Tanden and Granier never got on very well, partially because of Tanden's laid-back attitude. Granier always was of the belief that men should be rough and hard, and never show weakness. Tanden disagreed, and therein the problems started. He is a dragonrider, and he rides bronze Maith. His name is now Gr'nier.
Srindalo is T'den's younger sister, and is twenty-nine turns old. She is a cook with her father. She is a real sweetheart, and very agreeable. As children, her and Tanden played together, and he protected her as best he could from the rough, mean boys--including their older brother. He took a lot of hits for the girl, and they still have a good relationship. She is mated to another weyrcook, and they have one child. Srindalo is expecting another in the winter.
Pets: One green firelizard, named Ago. T'den named her after his dragon. He found when he was sweepriding for weather over th beaches. As he looked down, he saw little flitters of gold, bronze and brown, and directed Agoth to touch down several dragonlengths away. As he snuck up on the clutch, the gold who had laid the eggs, came after him in fury, and T'den ended up with a few deep scratches and welts from the lizard's beak and claws. He got close enough to the pile of eggs, which were still not completely hardened, to grab one on the most outside of the group. Being careful not to shake it, he placed it inside his riding jacket and scurried away before the gold could really hurt him. He went back to Agoth, finished his sweep quicky, and hurried back to the Weyr. A sevenday later, the egg hatched, and T'den fed it immediately, having recieved advice from several others with the creatures. As her hunger was sated, she curled up on T'den's belly, and he named her Ago, and she chirped in approval before falling asleep.
Appearance: T'den has a high forehead, tanned by all his years spent in Southern. His eyebrows are moderately think, and his eyes themselves are light blue. His nose is long and narrow, not even belling at the end. Lips that usually are grinning cover white teeth, and his chin is wide and cleft. His hair is dirty blonde, and his ears are a bit small.
T'den has a thin body-type, only bulked up by muscles gained as a dragonrider. He has thin arms, and somewhat delicate hands. He is a good example of medieval beauty. He has a thick chest, and a rock hard stomach, like most other riders. His hips are thin, and his legs are thick, but only with muscle in the thighs and calves. He has large feet.
As his favorite color to wear is blue, since it complements his eyes, he has a large selection of tailor-made shirts to fit his body. He wears tan or khaki colored pants, also tailor-made. He usually wears light colored sandals, and a bracelet always graces his left wrist. This bracelet is made of black rope for the string part, and has blue and blacks beads on it in no particular shape. He recieved this bracelet from his parents when he Impressed.
For Gathers, he has a beautiful deep blue shirt that he wears with his darkest colored black pants. He also has a lighter colored blue shirt that he wears sometimes, but he is not as fond of it as he is the deep blue shirt. He wears black boots with this outfit, and, of course, his bracelet. T'den is a person that is always well put-together, and he always looks nice, even in his work clothes.
Personality: T'den is overall very laid back and chill. He enjoys a good laugh as much as the next man, but he is also content to just sit and look at the fire, or listen to others. He has a good amount of friends, and most people do like him.
T'den enjoys flying with Agoth more than anything else. Her nimble, dainty wings powerfully pushing air beneath them fascinates him and pleases her. The two are very close, and there are absolutely no secrets between them.
One of his favorite pasttime activities is music-making. He can play a decent set of pipes, can keep rhythm on drums, and has a good voice for singing. His light baritone is pleasant to listen to, and he sometimes sees the weyrsinger for a bit of lessons. When walking around, he can often be heard humming little ditties or softly singing songs under his breath.
T'den doesn't like rough people. He thinks that men who are tough and rough all the time are faking it, and probably are a little crazy. This system of belief stems from growing up with his driven brother.
History: Tanden was born in the weyr, to a nanny mother and a cook father. They spoilt him until he hit two, when he was old enough to be looked after by others. Both parents were busy taking care of the Weyr, and like so many other Lower Caverns parents, did not always have time to take out of their day to discipline and constantly watch their children. Tanden was a happy child, enjoying his many "mommies" and "pops." Everyone seemed to enjoy the pleasant child too.
When he was five, he fell from a large pile of rocks in the Bowl and broke his arm. He cried, and his older brother, who was afraid of getting in trouble (since he had been told not to let his young brother play on boulders, rock piles, or other dangerous places), kicked him and told him his arm wasn't broken. To prove his point, Granier grabbed Tanden's arm and pulled hard to pull him off of the ground. Tanden cried and lashed out with his other arm, knocking Granier upside his head. Soon, a dragonrider heard Tanden's cries, and carried him to the Weyrhealer, who set the boy's arm. Granier, of course, got in a lot of trouble, not only from his own parents, but from everyone. In the Lower Caverns, the belief is that "there is a lot to be said for public humiliation," and Granier felt that for quite some time.
When Tanden was nineteen, and nearing the end to his standing for Impressions, he Impressed the love of his life: Agoth. The poor green had wrapped herself up under her claws, and as he helped her, Impression was made. Through Weyrling Training, T'den found that he enjoyed the feeling he got when trying something new, and his own favorite lesson was going beween, even though Agoth wasn't too fond of it at first.
When they graduated, T'den wanted to be placed in Luna wing, but when he was tapped for Sidus, he took it, figuring that Luna would have tapped him if they'd wanted him. He's been flying with Sidus for almost thirteen turns.
Dragon Information
Name: Agoth
Color: Green
Age: 19 turns
Description: Agoth is a delicate dragon. She has dainty claws and is somewhat small, even for her color. She is very graceful, however, and both she and T'den attribute this to her dainty size. Her hide itself is a dark emerald color, and her claws and boneflesh are even darker.
Personality: Agoth is kind and proper. She always observes rank when speaking with other dragons, and she has respect for those older than she is. T'den is under the impression that she is a favorite among dragonkind. She makes friends very easily.
History: The mottled egg hatched, revealing a dark colored green, made even darker by the egg-fluids all over her gleaming hide. She stumbled and creened a little bit, but then resumed her course, intent on finding someone like her to feed her starving stomach. A small boy stood near a lot of other young men, and he was looking at her, as if he knew she was meant for him. She crooned happily, and stumbled over to him, wrapping her right wing under claws in the process. She tipped onto her face, startled. T'den, help me. Your Agoth needs you, but she cannot reach you, dear love, she said, frustrated at the situation. He hurried over to his new mate and breathed in deeply as she asserted her mind to his, and Impression was made. He unwrapped her wingtip from her claws, and they headed toward the food table.
In Weyrling Training, they were neither the best, nor the worst, but they did try hard and learn all they could before graduation. Their most enjoyed lesson was the one teaching the Weyrlings how to wash their dragons. T'den and Agoth splashed around in the water so much, they got yelled at and rebuked. They apologized, but laughed about it privately.
After graduation, Agoth and T'den were placed in Sidus Wing. They have been in the wing for about thirteen years.
