Rider Information
Name: Ransayu/ R'sayu
Gender: Male
Age/Birthday: 18
Orientation: Hetero
Location: Lateo Weyr
Rank/Wing: Weyrling
Standing: R'sayu feels that the Northern Continent should be ignored for the most part, ignored until ships sail across the sea searching for the Dragon's to save there sorry hides from Threadfall. Yet not even then should they go and help the poor, lost souls. No, no... They should suffer, if only for a little while. When they are diminished, and they know that the Dragonriders are in complete control and should be held up like their pitiful Lord's, then they will be protected from Thread.
Family:
Ranso, father, 51. Weyrfolk.
Katila, mother, 57. Weyrfolk.
No siblings, after R'sayu Katila could not have children and Ranso wanted no other lover.
Pets: None
Appearance: R'sayu is tall, taller then most. At atleast 6'5, this man looks strong, not one to be tampered with. His build, lean yet strong, gives no room for refusal, and even though he is fairly respectful, one always thinks he is about to just turn around and do something...what, its impossible to say. Just something.
Deep, dark brown eyes are lightly painted on a tanned, rough face below high, questioning brows. His eyes conceal nothing, yet at the same time seem to know everything. Most who look at his eyes feel like he knows everything about him, even though he will cheerfully ask about your life, not prying yet wondering openly. Almost as if he is collecting information.
Previously, light brown waves of hair reach his shoulders, tumbling gaily around his face and hiding his eyes at moments, at other times damp with sweet. However, it was chopped off promptly after Impression, something that R'sayu cannot say angered him the slightest, though it does look a bit odd being so cropped and short now, almost a fuzz on his head.
R'sayu will wear whatever he can find laying around that fits him and is clean. More then once he was punished for being incorrectly attired for some event or another, the worst being at a Hatching when he was seven. His mother would not ever let him forget that day, when a Bronzerider himself chastised the young boy publicly. Ransayu was quickly ridiculed and never again did he wear dirty clothing, not ever. It doesn't have to match or look good, but if it's dirty, it stays off of his body.
R'sayu has light bronzed skin, roughened on his hands and feet from outdoor work and playing. His knees are so scarred from boyish playing that it's hard to tell the scars from the skin. His elbows, too, are scarred, but not as badly. No other scars are visible, though they are undoubtly there from so much playing and roughhousing as a Weyrbrat.
Personality: R'sayu is very patient, and so enjoys his Dragon's constant questions and little children, though he would never proclaim his like of children lest he be stuck watching after them in his few spare minutes. R'sayu is also kind, very kind in fact, except towards Northerners. Another attribute that help's him with his Brown and once more with children. However, once again he tries not to show kindness to little ones; he does not want to care for them.
R'sayu likes to be the center of attention, telling a story or reciting a riddle. Even if he is in a situation where attention should not be wanted, R'sayu bask's in attention. He won't go through great measures to get it, and it's not something he wants spread around. However, being a Weyrling Rider has taken this want away form him momentarily, and rest is much more preferred.
R'sayu enjoys the outdoors, no matter how hot or cold it is. If need be, he will remove his shirt or add extra layers of clothing just so he can be outside. Outside, he is free, the wall's don't close around him like the bar's on a cage, so carefully enclosing him until he can't get out. Sometimes that feeling is so great, R'sayu can barely breathe.
His chosen activities revolve around the outdoors. Swimming is fun and important to R'sayu, but only if it's competitive. Otherwise, it'd better be bathing himself or bathing his dragon. Just walking is fun to R'sayu, even if it seems boring to others. Learning a lot along his walks, R'sayu often finds little things that seem like nothing, but can be everything to him. A baby fowl out of its mothers site gives him a feeling of satisfaction when he replaces it. Many sunsets are ignored by people who don't take time to watch them, but R'sayu does watch, and he does remember them. That's why he feel's he must strive to be everything he can be...to protect that sunset. So later on, more people can watch those sunsets and make the same decision.
History: Ransayu was born to his parents on a cold morning in the autumn. Not many witnessed his birth, which was long a grueling on his ill mother, who would never have children again. For one, she couldn't take the pain, and with a fever during labor it was almost unbearable. Secondly, she was a person who could not care for very many things at the same time. The idea of more then one child frightened her. Thirdly, her lifemate wanted no other lovers.
Ransayu was raised a Weyrbrat, and he liked it that way. His life had little to no adventure in it, except the rare times when the Weyrbrats could plan something exciting without getting caught. All Ransayu really wanted was to Impress, to have a Dragon that would love him forever, without judging him at all for being himself. A Dragon, any Dragon. Bronze, Brown, Blue, or even Green. It did not matter, he wanted only a chance to have that love.
Ransayu had lots of childhood friends, and a few crushes too. Liora, a angelic little girl a year younger then R'sayu, was the girl he first shared his sunset with. His first kiss, even. He will never forget that moment, when nothing mattered to either of the young people, fourteen and thirteen Turns old, except each other. For an entire hour, they explored each other, never going farther then a kiss, but thinking it. Liora moved on, though, and R'sayu does not know where she is. Probably around, but not noticed. He does still think about her, and even as he kissed other girls, she always hovered in his mind, just waiting for him to search for her.
Once, at the age of fifteen, Ransayu did something no one expected, atleast not while he seemed to be so busy with sultry Diffa. With a group of Weyrbrats, Ransayu snuck onto the sand, even venturing far enough to be able to an egg, though he never did. It was one of the more exciting highlights of that year, the most exciting being his time with Diffa. But, alas, the groups tale would not end in happiness. Unlike others before them, the boys (and girl) were caught. They were caught red-handed by a already angry Headwomen, checking the Hatching grounds on a tip from one of the crueler boys, who didn't even get a beating for being there. The rest, however, were punished by having to clean the laterines for two months, and they were not supposed to be allowed to see the Hatching. However, the boys snuck in, watched the Hatching carefully, and no one was the wiser.
His Impression was amazing. He had been cleaning the Kitchens with several of his friends; all were nervous, the Weyrling Master herself had come down to the Candidate Barracks with a note which was given promptly to the Candidate Master. The Candidate quickly explained the situation. The Hatching was imminent. And less then four hours later, Dragonriders swarmed the Candidates to the Hatching Grounds.
Several eggs showed signs of hatching, and Ransayu was ready in his Whites. He felt very nervous as the crowd seemed to breathe as one, not a noise to be heard until... It cracked! And egg was cracking, the thin lines spreading through it like a spider's web, finally bursting into hundreds of tiny fragments. A muzzle peeked through... And the same thing happened once again! A blue muzzle...and either a brown or a bronze, Ransayu couldn't be sure. In moments the Dragonets spilled onto the sand, crooning and seeming to mutter almost. They flexed their legs possessively, then began searching for Theirs.
The blue’s brother, definitely a brown, still sat there looking around and keening, calling for his even as Blue Ensyth made his matching. Ransayu couldn’t stand the sound any longer. It tore at him, pulled him with poetic gracelessness. The gracelessness of newborn babe, which indeed was a accurate comparison, as the Dragonet was newly hatched.
But was no one else going to do something? Couldn’t they feel his distress? The lanky candidate pushed through two younger candidates before a broad smile spread over his thin lips. “Arcusith my perfect brown… you have nothing more to worry about.”
R'sayu?...
Thus began a long relationship.
Dragon Stats
Name: Arcusith
Color: Brown
Hatching Order: 2nd
Description: Arcusith is the color of Klah and cream smoothly mixed, yet fading away at his muzzle and eye's, and seemingly rubbed right off of his underbelly. Arcusith is medium in size, neither fast to slow, perfectly average. His tail is extra strong, though, and his eye's don't want to close.
Personality: Arcusith is oddly curious for a Dragon. It seem's he has nothing better to do then constantly ask His 'why?' Not about just important things like his Clutchmother, or why that girl touched His so lovingly, or why the sky is blue, but about everything. Why do I have to eat? Who is he? What do they do? Why aren't I flying that high? When can I go that far? These questions would annoy anyone, but R'sayu is especially patient and loves to answer questions and talk.
Arcusith is very prideful, and even the slightest harsh remark or chastisement will make him scream defiances and ridicule at the person or Dragon that 'made fun of him.' However, this led to several much unwanted arguments between R'sayu and the riders of the Dragons; the humans couldn't hear Arcusith so R'sayu ignored those remarks. But the Riders insisted that R'sayu learn to control his Dragons prideful temper, lest he verbally attack the wrong Dragon, which just portrays his lack of good sense.
Arcusith does NOT like to get wet or dirty, and when he does he will panic. R'sayu learned that the hard way while bathing his dragon, who thought the water looked fun at first, until he realized how wet it was. However, he doesn't like to get dirty either and so has a very big problem. He can't get dirty because then he'll have to bathe, but if he doesn't bathe in water he'll get dirty. So he loses either way.
Background: Several eggs showed signs of hatching… noticing this the crowd in the stands seemed to draw in a collective breath and hold it as another muzzle began to peek through…
It took only moments, a lifetime though for a candidate, and the contents of two eggs spilled out onto the sweltering sands, by size one was guessed to be either brown or bronze and the other perhaps a blue.
The first out sat down hard on his haunches weaving his head from side to side trying to get his bearings. The bright lights from the glows and the loud noises a definite change from the muffled sounds heard inside his shell.
The blue’s brother still sat there looking around and keening, calling for his even as Ensyth made his matching. A tall lad of 18 turns, Ransayu, couldn’t stand the sound any longer. It tore at him, pulled him…
‘Was no one else going to do something? Couldn’t they feel his distress?’ The lanky candidate pushed through two younger candidates before a broad smile spread over his thin lips. “Arcusith my perfect brown… you have nothing more to worry about.”
R'sayu?...
Thus began a long relationship.
R'sayu learned of his Dragon's fear of water quickly, right after his first bath.
Mine! Arcusith whined. Mine, this water is WET. Arcusith whimpered, his tail flicking back and forth as Arcusith gently prodded him farther into the lake.
"You must bathe, Arcusith. You must, or the Weyrling Master will have my hide handed to me on a platter." R'sayu muttered, starting to rub down his dragon with a washcloth.
MINE! It's WET!! I don't like it, please! Please let me get out! Arcusith panicked suddenly, thrashing around wildly. He narrowly missed taking a chunk out of R'sayu's leg, who quickly jumped back. Rapidly, a overseeing adult Dragonrider and his Dragon came and helped to calm down the Dragonet, who promptly decided to never set claw, talon, muzzle or tail in that cold, wet stuff again.
