Character Information
Name: Bandri (band-ree)
Gender: Female
Age/Birthday: 20/ Born winters end
Orientation: Heterosexual
Location: Sodalis Weyr
Rank: Cooking Drudge/Candidate
Family: Step father Agilla (ag-i-ya) 49, Mother Terral (ter-al) 47, half brother Rendi (ren-de)(ren-di) 18, half brother Algin (as it sounds) 13. Birth Father Dragonrider, unknown.
Step Father: Agilla has lived most of his life at Sodalis Weyr. He was found by a Dragonrider and taken back to Sodalis when he was 22 turns. He doesn’t talk about his life previous to the Weyr as he says no one needs to know. Very strict about anything dealing with the welfare of his family, Agilla has always made sure that no one is left out of anything. He taught Bandri and her brothers how to read and write each by the ages of seven. Agilla isn’t handsome but he can be called good-looking with black hair, brown eyes; he has a stubborn chin and thick nose, with a hard, lean and slightly muscular frame he stands 5’ 8 ½”.
Mother: Terral grew up at Lateo Weyr, but moved to Sodalis Weyr when she was 24 turns old and began working as a drudge, mostly in the kitchens. She met a “handsome” Dragonrider who she began a relationship with but months later upon hearing Terral was pregnant, left, as he said he wanted nothing to do with the baby. She gave birth to Bandri in the late winter. Terral never told Bandri about her birth father, finding him too hard to talk about. Later on in the turn she married/joined with another drudge named Agilla and they have been together since. Light brown skin and dirty brown, curvy hair, with thin lips, brown eyes and a pleasantly plump body at 5‘ 3” tall. Terral can be called motherly but also stern, having raised three children. She is anxiously awaiting grandchildren, though she can’t wait until her youngest is old enough to leave her and Agilla.
Half Brother: Rendi is the first born child between Agilla and Terral. Born in mid-fall and named after Terral’s great-grand father. Rendi is 18 turns and his life revolves around runner beasts. He works as a stable hand in Sodalises Weyr’s Stable. Quiet and shy, he stood three times at the Hatching Sands at age 15, but didn’t Impress. He can be known as stubborn when he wants something his way, which is rare though, and it has caused him an extra load of chores from time to time. Dark brown hair with his fathers stubborn chin, deep brown eyes, thin lips a slight nose, and thin body with strong legs and arms. He’s 5’9” tall a tad bit taller than his father. Rendi is secretly considered by a few admirers cute, though nobody says that to his face.
Half Brother: Algin was born early summer and named for/after Agilla. He is 13 turns old and loving it. Your typical little brother he’s always getting into trouble with his friends. High tempered and babied, Algin has always gotten what he wanted including a blue fire lizard as his belated birthday present from his brother Rendi. He wants to become a Dragonrider but his parents forbade him to be a Candidate until he is 14 turns old. He waits for the day he can be a Candidate with much anticipation. Much like his mother in appearance only his black hair is different. He is slightly plump with baby fat still around his face, though it will go away with time. Algin is still growing, but at this time he’s 5’2” tall having just going through a growth spurt. Pets: None, besides her brother Algin’s blue fire lizard Teht.
Appearance:
Bandri takes after her unknown father, she suspects, though her mother never said anything about her physical features besides saying she was beautiful, and all mothers say that to their daughters, right? Bandri looks nothing like her mother. Her eyes are a misty blue but they change by day, sometimes baby blue, misty gray, slate gray, deep blue and sky blue. Brandi’s eyes are ever changing especially if she is in a emotional fit or mood, whether its anger or sadness they can change color, it would seem, in the time it takes a dragon to go between. Their misty depths have caught many men, those who believed they could see behind Bandri’s eyes and take her as their own, learned the hard way that she was her own self and no body else’s.
Her hair is a deep yellow blond with sort of white highlights which can only be seen when the sun is glistening off of her hair. It can be termed as just blonde most of the time. Bandri’s hair is straight and only shoulder length as Bandri finds it easier to keep, seeing that her hair is also very thick and prone to massive dreadlocks if grown to long. Putting herself through pain everyday just brushing her hair is something Bandri doesn’t feel like doing to often. Her teeth are white, but she has very large front teeth which her brothers used to make fun of when she was younger. Bandri doesn’t smile often to this day because of her brothers’ teasing.
The skin on her face has always been tanned, to the point where no one really knows if that’s Bandri’s real skin color or just a tan covering up a lighter tone? No one knows for sure, not even Bandri herself. She sometimes has a slight redness around and on her cheeks from being out too long in the sun. She is very susceptible to peeling if a sunburn occurs, and this embarrasses Bandri to no end. Though it’s not something a normal person would get embarrassed about, its just something Bandri hates about herself. Pretty weird, huh? Her legs and arms are a deeper tan, more like a crisp bronze-light color, darker around her feet except where her sandals have left a strips of lighter skin over her toes.
The one thing Bandri has always loved about herself is her height. She’s a strong 5’9 inches, and she’s always loved the power it gives her especially when a man has to look up to see her. Bandri loves to make them uncomfortable…it’s a game to her. It also helps her to bully other Drudges into doing her chores as it makes them think she’ll beat them up if they don’t. But Bandri really knows nothing about fighting, as she believes it’s a waste of time and too much trouble.
Bandri’s facial structure differs totally from her mother and brothers. For one, her cheeks are high boned and Bandri doesn’t know anyone that is related to her, that has high cheeks bones. She takes pride in her unique features. Bandri’s eyes are set wide apart which enhances her the color of her eyes what ever color they are at the time. Her mouth is small but with full, with blossom pink lips that are usually in the form of devilish smile or an angry frown, it varies by day…She inherited her very well developed bosom from her mother. Her well endowed bosom has become her pride as she can tease men with just a hint of what lay inside her loose shirts or low cut dress. Her ears are normal in size as well. Not too big or small.
Her build is slim and thin, but not too thin, with well-muscled legs and a little smooth arms. Her physical strength is centered in her lower body and her upper body is by far weaker than her lower body. Her legs are long and limber, her hands, though pretty, are roughed up from a life of hard work. Her mother calls them Man Hands, but Bandri doesn’t care. She has prominent hip bones that are topped by her trim waist…very different from her mother’s. One of Bandri’s bad (as she thinks) features is her neck. It is slightly longer than a normal neck, causing her body to look out of portion with it and giving her a gawky sort of appearance when she moves.
Clothes are a favorite with Bandri though she has no skill in making any of her own. She used to play dress up with her brother Rendi and the two would sneak around their parents clothing looking for old or used clothes to dress up in. Those times were some of Bandri’s best memories as a child. She loves dresses that show off her best traits, owning only one that her family could afford…a present from her parents when she turned 18. It’s not the best quality, mostly a mix of fibers and such. The color of the dress is a soft red shade with short sleeves so as to keep the wearer cool in the summer. It has a low collar, and the dress reaches to Bandri’s feet. Much to Bandri’s liking, the dress was made to stick to the wearer’s body and showoff the curves of the person, to the extreme.
Personality:
The one word you could use to describe Bandri’s personality is ‘spoiled.’ She didn’t get a lot of stuff when she was growing up but her mother would spoil her with affection overly so, enough in fact that Bandri got the idea that she was and is more beautiful, smart, and just plain old better than every else. Not the best of attitudes, and it has hurt her a few times before, but it never sinks into her that most of what she thinks isn’t true. Her mother used to bake Bandri pastries everyday until she had to stop because Bandri was becoming plump and her mother wouldn’t have that…this somehow created a rift between the two and neither will apologize as both of them to this day still believe it is the other one’s fault. A pretty stupid reason but each one is too prideful to give in.
Prideful, yes, and somewhat daring, Bandri has taken on only men who she can boss around in a relationship, and as it turns out, most men will do anything to stay out of a relationship with Bandri. Especially if they had known her before the relationship began, which hurts her pride-filled ego to no end. Bandri hates all who oppose her, which includes most everyone with whom she interacts. She’s been stuck doing extra chores for talking back a ton of times. Bandri just never learned to shut up or give up the argument because she just can’t lose, and she can’t or doesn’t believe that she should have to do more stuff as punishment because of her standing position. That’s her core belief.
Losing something even if it’s a small game rankles her to the point where she will accuse whoever she played with of cheating. In Bandri’s mind she just can’t lose, its like if she allows herself to believe she can lose then she would be a failure. The fun in her life is the competition and the ruthless winning. Its really crazy the amount of arguments she can get into in a single day. She isn’t liked much by most…well practically anyone who has to deal with her from day to day, even her family finds her way too overbearing most of the time.
Bandri likes when she can relax in the sun while watching other people work, it makes her feel more superior to them. She has this fantasy that she’s Weyrwomen and that whenever she would go anywhere in the fantasy everyone would wait on her and say she’s beautiful and so on. The problem is, she tries to make this fantasy real in her every day life, and nobody likes a no-it-all bitch. Also, though she has never stood at the Hatching Sands, she has always believed she could Impress a Gold.
History:
Bandri has had the normal Weyrbrat’s life. She was fostered by a woman whose name no one can recall as she moved to a small Weyrhold less than a turn after taking Bandri to care for. The poor woman, though, had to deal with Bandri who was 6 turns old and was always demanding and would scream if not given what she wanted. The problems later progressed to Bandri running back to her parents living quarters no matter how many times she was returned to her caretaker. So after the woman moved, Bandri was brought to her parents, much to their surprise, and she wasn’t fostered again.
A demanding little brat, she bossed her brothers around all the time, especially Rendi, who was younger. Bandri would taunt her brothers enough to make them start a fight, just so all of them would have to do the chores instead of just herself doing them alone. Even though her mother knew this was happening, she never said a word as she felt that being bossy would some day help Bandri achieve whatever she wanted. Of course this attitude was too imbedded in Bandri to ease off as she got older. Her mother has always felt guilty for raising such a horror without really realizing or considering the consequences of her actions.
Bandri’s a bitch that’s for sure. Having been to a number of different places like Large Weyrhold’s, individual small holds and twice to Lateo Weyr…and each time she had been kicked out or she ran away before they could kick her out. She would create such an uproar that their was no sense in keeping someone who caused pain and in some cases heartbreak, from stealing someone’s lover just because Bandri wanted him, or she hated his girl (probably too much competition) so would play dirty and take what that girl loved the most. Bandri had all of this happen while she was in her late teens, so she became even worse to be around. She couldn’t seem to help herself, even though her nasty games caused herself displeasure. Bandri did not like what she saw in herself during this period, and her happiness was at an all time low, though this disappeared when she came back to Sodalis Weyr as she was home and knew (or thought she did) where she stood in the social standing of the Weyr-personnel.
Color Preference Bandri wants a gold, but a green’s perfectly fine.
