She will occasionally wear a short jacket that stops about breast level. Her healer bag is a dark hue of purple.
Personality: Yeleeve is a kind-hearted person with a sweet smile...at least that is the first impression that people get of her. She has a stubborn streak and a temper that can flare up at the worst of times. She believes that she is as good as any male and will prove herself if she has to. Once someone earns her respect, she will fully respect them until they do something to lose it. She can also be fiercely loyal and will defend these persons even if she has to come to blows. Aside from her tomboyish nature, Yeleeve can be a lady. She enjoys shopping and buying new clothes and accessories. She usually tries to express herself through colors and designs in her clothes.
History: Yeleeve was born to a Fisherman and his wife who had been hoping for another son. Her father had been disappointed and tended to treat Yeleeve roughly though he loved her dearly. Her mother took every opportunity to show their little girl all the feminine qualities that she aught to posses. Her brother took it upon himself to teach her how to fight. Over the years Yeleeve learned how to be a lady, how to properly fish and how to know where the best fishing spots were, and how to defend herself.
Because it was only her and her brother, Miro, for 7 turns she had to learn how to do the fishing which left their mom to do all the housework. In time she came to be as good as most of the fisherman. Once her younger brother Byron was born she ended up having to stay home and help take care of him and the cleaning. It was during this time that her brother was cutting up some fish and his had slipped causing the knife to cut him. The nearest healer was too far away to help right away so they rushed him back home. Their mother was not at home and so Yeleeve was left to take care of him until a healer could come. She kept calm and was able to keep him from losing too much blood. The healer finally came and patched Miro up and praised Yeleeve for her work. This then caused her to start thinking about becoming a healer. That night she brought it up to her parents. Though she was only 10 at the time, her parents discussed it with her and her father decided that she would continue to help them with the fishing. He thought that she had put it out of her head.
Another year had passed and although she had continue to learn the trade of fishing through her father and brother Miro, she still continued to help with patching cuts and scrapes. A few times she was able to sew a person up and each time the healers who came to complete the job praised her. One time the healer pulled her father aside and talked to him about apprenticing her . Her father let him know that he was bringing her up to be a fisherman like himself and their eldest son. Again, her dream of becoming a healer was put on hold.
On her 13th turn Yeleeve again talked to her parents about becoming a healer. Her father again told her that it was out of the question and she was to become a fisherman. Yeleeve told him that though she loved the sea she also loved to help people. It soon turned into a very heated argument. After a few hours of arguing and shouting her father finally gave in and contacted the nearest healer. She discussed her yearning to become a healer and the healer listened. He asked her certain questions, making sure that she really wanted to do this and if she had the constitution for such a line of work. It soon became apparant that she was not backing down, that she would continue to fight for this if need be. The next day she had a few things packed and left with the healer, apprenticed to him. It was a tearful goodbye as she had never left home before. The healer was patient as he remembered his first time of leaving home.
She was a quick learner and soon learned all of the basics that she was taught. Within a few years she was allowed to practice on the patients while being watched. Her first several patients she was nervous with, which caused them to be nervous. She got yelled at by a few of her patients, though most understood that she was an apprentice and were patient with her. After four turns her teacher took her aside and congratulated her on her hard work and that he believed that she was ready to go out on her own.
He sent her to a smaller holding that was in need of a healer and made sure that she had a way to get there. When she arrived the Holder's daughter, Sylaria, met her and settled her in. Yeleeve soon became accustomed to the differences in the culture and came to love the holders. Her and Sylaria became friends and then lovers. They were rarely seen apart.
Several months later Yeleeve had run low on numbweed and needed to gather more, so she invited Sylaria to go with her. They left early in the morning on runners along with a drudge to help them if they needed it. Once they arrived at their destination they set to gathering the needles and within a few hours they were done. Sylaria sent the drudge ahead of them. They followed a ways behind each flirting with the other.
It didn't take long before Yeleeve thought to espouse Sylaria. She took a few days to think of a way to ask her father and then went to him. She asked him for Sylaria's hand, and though he knew that they loved each other he would not let his daughter espouse another female. He let her know this gently and hoped that she would understand. Though her heart was broken she honored his wishes. A few weeks later she asked that she could be relieved of her duties to the Hold. The Holder understood why and let her go. There was a tearful goodbye between Yeleeve and Sylaria though they both understood why she wanted to leave.
Soon a request for a healer came from Lateo Weyr and Yeleeve accepted. She left the next morning with a caravan heading to the Weyr. It took her a while to get used to the Weyr and even longer to open up to others. In a few months her smile became genuine and her eyes gained back their sparkle. She now has several lovers and a child, Sylarias. He was born to N'guen during one of their affairs. She named him after her first love, Sylaria. She adores her son and cares for him herself. Occasionally his father will come around, but mostly it is just the two of them.
