How You heard of Lost Weyrs: On the web
Rider Information
Name: D'lian (Dylian)
Gender Male
Age/Birthday: 30, Late Summer
Orientation: Heterosexual
Location: Sodalis Weyr
Rank/Wing: Wingsecond/BloodChar Wing, Weyrleader J'ren
Standing: D'lian has an unexpected standing, given his background. He feels that the Holders should be dominated, thinking that they don't know how to run themselves. If the riders are going to save Pern, they should decide how it is run.
Family:
Father: Danor, 53
Mother: Liana, 50
Brother: Danin, 31
Daughter: Essie, 3
Essie's Mother: Kiyoun, Greenrider of Caruth. Conceived during Flight.
Pets: None
Appearance: D'lian is a tall young man, standing at around 6'1. His tan complexion comes from his long hours of working in the sun as a boy, and then from his work as a rider. It blends well with the long dark black hair that tends to fall in his smoky blue-ish eyes unless it is brushed back, out of the way. His nose is small, almost petite for a man. D'lian's muscles are lean, not giving him the appearance of someone overly-built, but not making him look scrawny. He can hold his own in a fight, to be sure. The bronze rider wears well-tailored clothes that fit him, but that also manage to compliment his lean, muscular frame. Though most of his clothes are t-shirts with pants, mostly of dark colors.
Personality: D'lian is not a hard man to understand. At first meeting him, one can almost see the intensity for life in his eyes. He is not someone you would want as an enemy. He is a man to go after what he wants, when he wants it, sometimes regardless of the consequences. This has led him to take some risks in his life, with different outcomes. D'lian is very ambitious, but that is tempered somewhat by his intellect. He's not rash enough to make a move unless he is fairly certain it will work to his advantage. However, D'lian knows how to have a good time too. He's no stranger to women, and has created quite a reputation for himself in the Lower Caverns. He tends to stay away from drinks though. He feels vulnerable when drunk, and would rather have his wits about him at all times instead of puking his guts out. Although, he will enjoy a glass of wine or two when the times calls for it. Overall, he is a good leader, using the riders around him and their good traits to better the Weyr when he can.
History: D'lian was born and raised in one of the Northern Holds. His father was a manservant to the Lord of Nerat Hold, and his mother was one of the Lady of Nerat Hold's ladies. It was a comfortable arrangement and one would think D'lian would be fairly happy with his living situation. But that was far from the truth. As the younger son, D'lian was deemed to be unimportant. Danin would inherit anything their father left, leaving D'lian with nothing. D'lian refused to accept that, and felt there was more for him out there. Ever since he was a little boy, he had been obsessed with legendary stories of the Dragonriders. When he turned 16, he chose to leave the Hold he had been born and raised in, and (some would say foolishly) sought out the Weyrs. By luck, or fate some could say, he was searched not to long after at a Gathering he attended.
For 2 turns D'lian resided at Sodalis Weyr, patiently waiting for his chance to Impress. When that time came D'lian Impressed Vasyth without hesitation. After Graduating to the Bloodchar wing, (a thing that D'lian has aspired to do) D'lian and Vasyth worked harder than normal, they wanted to be the best and had high hopes of what they could become over-time. Each day they trained, practiced flying maneuvers over the vast forests of the Sodalis region, they were usually never late without a viable reason to be. All in all the pair did their best and two turns previous were promoted to a Wingsecond position. At this time both of them are happy with the position they have obtained and still hold. D'lian has had some trouble becoming acostomed to the faher role since the birth of his daughter, Essie. D’lian makes it a big point of his life to meet with his daughter at least once everyday, of twice if he has time, though that is rare. Essie lives with her mother, Kiyoun a Greeenrider. Essie was conceived when Vasyth flew Caruth, Kiyoun’s Green. Luckily for D’lian Kiyoun kept Essie when she was born and has made time during the day for D’lain to see his daughter. Once Essie is older it has been decided that she will be fostered. Though the where of that or with Who hasn’t been fully discussed yet. D’lian hasn't looked back on his Northern life since, and has enjoyed his new life at the Weyr.
Post Preview: Weyrling Training, First Flights
“Come on now get moving! Are all of you scared now? You didn’t seem before…”
The Assistant Weyrling Master bellowed. D’lian and Vasyth stood behind a few other Weyrlings, so the didn’t get the full force the Assistants words. Even so he still winced, it didn’t help that the Assistant had just given them a full list of possible tragedies that could become a young dragon on its first flight. Everyone in D’lian’s class had been looking forward to their dragons first flights, and then the Assistant had to go and ruin the whole moment with that speech. “So who’s first? You!” The Assistant pointed to a bronze Weyrling a few feet in front of D’lian. All eyes turned to the chosen Weyrling pair. Most of the Weyrlings’ felt pity for the first chosen pair, but D’lian didn’t.
That particular pair were your average bullies, they tried to be better at everything and if they weren’t then they could get mean. As the first pair, walked forward to be inspected by the Dragonhealer, D’lian eyed his Vasyth. Not to sure that he wanted his precious bronze to fly so soon. I will be fine. I am one of the best Mine…and I get to watch the other fly first. I will be fine. The bronze eyes whirled blue-green and yet a hint of orange had found its way into the serene colors. “I know…” But D’lian still worried. ‘What if he brakes a wing? Or legs…landing? What will we do?’ D’lian gave himself a mental shake as he tried to dislodge the worried thoughts from his mind. It wouldn’t help to get Vasyth afraid when they both need their calm about them.
The sound of people arguing caught the attention of Vasyth, as well as D’lian. It seemed that the bully bronze pair weren’t going to be able to fly.
“He is in….ime condi…”
The shouting of the bronze Weryling was hard to hear over the yelling of both the Assistant Weyrling and the Dragonhealer.
“Now look here….won’t…ve….at all!” Shouted the Assistant Weyrling Master.
“Will you two sto….I can’t che….will you stop it…I am…”The Dragonhealer wasn’t getting too far either.
D’lian turned and nudged a blue Weyrling close to him. “What’s going on?” The Blue Weyrling seeing D’lain’s lost look grinned at him.
“Oh well it turns out that that bronze can’t fly. I think it’s because the bronze has some skin problem. As far as I can tell. He probably wasn’t oiled enough.”
D’lian nodded and had to agree with the other Weyrling. Most skin problems came from not oiling a Weyrling’s fast expanding hide. After a good 15 more minutes of continuous shouting the bronze pair was forced to the side and out of the Dragonhealer’s way. “Now,” muttered the Assistant. ‘Who will be next…ahh. You. D’lian came up here lets see how well Vasyth with fly.”
Looking around D’lian realized that he couldn’t back away from the Assistants order. Now everybody was watching Him! Walking forward with Vasyth, D’lian didn’t know what to do...or say. D'lian glanced at his bronze, but to his surprise saw that Vasyth had no orange, or any colors of fright whirling in Vasyth’s eyes. Only a blue, green. Everything will be fine. You oiled me this morning so I am well prepared for this Mine D’lian shook his head in amazement. “I don’t know how you can be unafraid.” Vasyth chose to ignore him as the stopped in front of the Dragonhealer.
“Now.” Murmured the Dragonhealer.
“Lets see if your bronze has any problems…”
D’lian didn’t know what he wanted to happen. If Vasyth couldn’t fly than that meant that he would avoid a possible death. But if he was in good enough condition, then he could fly which means he could possibly die. But Vasyth would be the first to fly. Which was sort of an honor…sort of.
“Yup your bronze is in great condition. Just don’t forget to oil him each day, he’s still growing.” With a slap on Vasyth’s hide, the Dragonhealer motioned them out of the way and towards the flight area.
“Ready Vas?” D’lian could feel sweat begin to bead on his forehead and on his palms. Yes I’m ready D’lian nodded. Whatever happened would happen, but D’lian sure hoped that Vasyth didn’t die….

Dragon Information
Name: Vasyth
Color: Bronze
Age: 12 Turns
Description: Vasyth was the darkest bronze of his clutch. His hide is a dark, molten bronze with blends of copper. Lighter tones of bronze grace his underbelly and haunches. He is fairly large, but completely in proportion to his size. He has a grace that many would not think of a dragon his size.
Personality: Vasyth is confident in himself, but not quite to the point of arrogance. He has what it takes to become a great leader, knowing what to do and when to do it. He does not care much for color, knowing that not every dragon is fortunate enough to be a bronze. Also, Vasyth is not one to hesitate, especially when he knows what he wants. And once he knows what he wants, he will not allow anything to stand in his way of it. He wants to do his best to become the best, but if he knows he can't be the best than he won't waste his time trying.
History: Vasyth was the last bronze of his clutch to hatch. There was no hesitation after he broke away from his egg-shaped prison: the bronze hatchling knew who exactly who he wanted. A candidate got in his way, and ended up getting a talon in his heart as Vasyth made his way to his Chosen. Shaking off the dead boy the bronze approached Dylian. The candidate gasped but any feelings of fear or thoughts of running left his mind as he heard the dragon speak to him.Feed your Vasyth, D'lian. I am hungry "Of course, we'll get you seen to right away!" He beamed. He had actually Impressed! Him, the boy no one wanted! Now he had a chance to make his dreams come true! Together, they would make a name for themselves...
Vasyth has always had high expectations for both himself and his Rider. From the time he Hatched he has always wanted his meals on a regular bases, setting a time each month to eat now that he is grown. He and D'lain did very well in Weyrling training, Vasyth knew that his rider wanted to become on of the Bloodchar wing and Vasyth worked extra hard to help that come true. On graduation he was proud with himself and his rider, and even prouder when they were appointed to Wingsecond.
He has always been a fancier of the Green’s not so much the Gold’s. Vasyth knows he's more likely to catch a green than a gold so he goes for the greens, naturally. About once to 2 times a month he will participate in a green flight if he feels the green is worthy of him. One of those such flights earned his rider a daughter Essie. Vasyth isn't usually fond of the young, both Human and dragon, but he has slowly found him-self attached to the little girl. He is more understanding of her than others may be, considering she is so young.
