Galedan sat looking over some of the records that his advisors had given him that morning. The brooding look on his face told most to stay away especially his wife. He was angry and she generally was no help. This was not a good time for him to be thinking of personal matters. What he thought needed to be addressed was that sharding Lord Dorin and how he was conquering the Holds like he should own them all. It was wrong, to be so greedy. He often found himself angrier at those who refused to act. Now was the time to make it clear that they insisted on making the other Lord pay for his crimes.
When the next conclave meeting arose, he would be there. Saying the necessary words, wether that brought full out warfare or not, he was prepared. As he thought over these things, the Head Guard leaned into his ear. "Trainign is going as planned. Many men showed up this time." "Good that means there are more people capable of defending themselves and possible a few more to add to our esteemed guard. This is not why I called you in however. " Lord Galeden whispered into the guard's ear, "I need my special unit, the Nirav. They are to meet me in my sudy in approximately two hours. Tell them that discretion is necessary." "Yes my Lord. It will be as you will it."

After about 20 minutes of looking over beast sales, another guard burst into the Study. HE knew this guard, it was one of Galeda's special body guards. "My Lord, this is not a matter of security but Galeda has had a terrible dream and continually asks for you."
Lord Galeden nodded to the guard appreciatively. "I'll be down momentarily. Do not mention this to Eslana. She will only make the child worse." Galeden was certain the woman didn't care for their child much. Some women did not want to be mothers, but she seemed only to despise it becsue she had been forced to live life this way.

( I hope it is ok to npc one of the elite guards. If this is not the type of char you meant to be in the Nirav plz let me know. If not then I can delete this. )
Dalsin can best be described in one word, ruthless. He is the equivelant of a hired assasin. His years of living holdless had made him learn to live by his wits. His ability to lift a money bag from anyone without being caught had taken several turns and several fights to hone to an art. His skill with weapons is just as precise.
Dalsin kept to the shadows. He was sure he had not been seen by even the watch wher. His steel gray eyes took in every movement around him. There were not many who could match him in stealth. He moved in through the hold door and crept quietly down the hall to the Lord Holders study. With an almost inaudible rap at the door to announce his presence he slowly swung the door open. Remaining in the shadow of the hallway he quickly scanned the room before entering. Seeing it was safe, he entered and faced Galedan, but kept his back to the wall and his eyes on the exits. He had been in the Nirav for 2 turns and was loyal to Galedan.

Galeden did not turn to the guards as they began to enter. He was going to wait till most of them showed up. All but the ones guarding Galeda. He finally stood after several moments. His face troubled and dark. He spoke to these men as his most trusted and most secretive people. The Nirav were in the room, more silent than the most quiet night.
He spoke with a calm and respectful authority, "I called you together for a special task. I need six volunteers, for this particular assaignment." At that statement his face darkened a bit. He hated to waste their expertise on such a simple task. His wife had stepped out on him for the last time and his warder needed to be watched like a hawk.
"The tasks are simple but require the most secretive force. My wife, she has been unfaithful true, but has she also been spying on my activities... I want to make sure she is not sellign us out to Lord Dorin. Also I need you to watch my warder, he makes me uncomfortable and I don't trust him." Galeden watched the expressionless faces. "If anyone would rather not do these tasks speak now, for if no one volunteers I'm just going to have to draw names." Galeden was serious, he looked more than troubled. Lord Dorin was becomming more and more of a threat and he would not sit aropund and wiat to be conquered. He was ready to defend himself politically and forcefully.

Dalsin never let his expression show the distaste he had for these assignments. In his opinion his skills would be better used on some other assignment..
Dalsin knew immediately that the only way to find out if Galeden's Lady was in fact betraying the hold to Dorin would be to either get personally close to one or the other. He thought it would be the quickest way to chose the Lady Holder. He already knew she wasn't faithful, so she could probably be beguiled into giving out her secrets to him. He was a dark but handsome man with ebony black hair, grey eyes and full lucious lips. It would certainly be faster than trying to get into Dorin's circle of trust. From what he could gather he thought Dorin would trust few and that it would take an extremely long time to gain such trust.
On the other hand he didn't think he could get much from the warder. A dishonest man rarely took many in on their plans. He decided to let another take on that job.
He spoke in a low voice. He let it be known that it was clearly not his usual calling and he would much rather not be called on to do these types of assignments in the future. Laying his ideas out for Galeden He wondered, would the Lord think him bold to suggest that he seduce his woman? It really was the quickest way he could think of.

Galeden was not suprised that this particular thought had arisen. "Not that I don't think you could pull it off, but I already have a problem with her infidelity...I trust you more than I would her in this instance. I don't think for one second she is not trying to get information out of you the same way you are her. She is more clever than anyone here exoects of her... that is why this must be secret. Once she finds out I've spied on her, she will go to her uncle in IGen and I will have more than just Dorin to worry about." Galeden seemed to be thinking of everything he could. "Perhaps you should not try to seduce her, so to speak... what she needs is a friend not a lover..." His voices sounded miles away yet somehow it was endearing. "Do we know of any women we could trust with such a task? "

Another member of the Niriv, this one a medium height, brown haired, brown eyed male in his mid forties, stepped forward. "Relan, an it please yur lorship," the man said, "Perhaps bein' that m' wife could help you out. She is a discrete soul, for sooth, tell nary a person wot fer she thinkin bout." The man was so average as to be nondescript, save for a slight hardness about his eyes, and the muscles that rippled under the loose cut cloth. It was unseen, but he carried at least seven knives of various sizes on him, several cords that had odd uses, and other strange objects, non of which would really do more than raise an eyebrow from a hold guard searching someone. "She's as good with a knife as a needlethorn, sews, cooks cleans and all, but I wouldn't care to meet her in a dark alley if she was angry..."

"If you recommend her for this task. Remember that she must become friends with the Lady Holder...I don't want her to feel intimidated. I think that we shouold meet your wife and interview her quickly. As you are all trusted, she shall be a temporary member of our unit. Her job is of the utmost importance. She has to feel like she has been treated equally." Galeden said calmly. "Relan, would you call on your wife for us, and bring her to me. Don't speak of what its about except that she is being brought before the Lord Holder. No one will be suspicious this way." Galeden was always a bit paranoid, he felt he could trust so few, because of what he had only recently found out. His wife's betrayal being the worst... which was why he needed someone to get to her..

Dalsin sneered in disgust to have his Lord Holder think that any woman could turn the tables on him. Clever or not Dalsin would never fall for any womans tricks. He knew very well how to keep his mouth shut, and his ears open. Why wasn't it just 1 turn before he came into Galedans employ that he had managed to get that Journeywoman from the Smithcraft to divulge a trade secret that he had sold to one of the minor Lordholders? He had collected a hefty bag of marks for that one.
He stood quietly as Relan mentioned his wife. He waited for her to be brought there for an interview.

Relan nodded, and stepped back. He would sent back to his hold for his wife, and have her brought here for an "interview" with their Lord Holder.
"Yes, M'lord, I will send for her this very afternoon. I'm sure she'll be here by morn for that "interview" sire."
He left when Galaden dismissed him. He left the study, and went down to the runners barracks. There he enlisted a young runner to go to his hold, with directions and a short, tersely written note to his wife. He gave the youngster a thirty second mark, and the hide scrap, and off the boy took.
To make a story short, the boy takes about two hours to get to the hold, delivers the letter. The wife takes it, reads it, giving the boy a mug of klah. She writes a reply to the tune of "Yes dear, I will be there first thing in the morning." Gives teh skin to the boy, who takes off again and is back by late supper. Finding Relan, the boy gives him the return message, gets another 1/32 mark, and leaves. Relan is pleased, and lets Galaden know she will be here in the morning.
ooc: I will start a second thread here as she is presented to Galaden by Relan the next morning, ok?

(sounds good.)
"Now gentlemen there is the problem with my warder... I need to know if he is at all loyal to me. For some reason I get the feeling he is cheating me out of my own things, and giving information about me to others, people who need not know..." He glanced around the room. "Well if none will volunteer, I shall have to assaign someone." He took a scroll and wrote every man's name on it adn then tore them into pieces. He left the pieces on the floor scattered. "Now. One of you close your eyes and pick two sheets."
