Morelia was so happy to be back in Sodalis, her lovers arms around her... it was wonderful to feel that. "I guess we better not wake everyone. I feel bad coming down here so late. " Morelia squinted in the dark of the creche before a creche nurse heard her and lit a candle. She almost gasped when she saw Morelia but then recognizing her went to where the beds were for the young children. Morelia picked Bera out almost instantly as she was curled up with her favorite blanket.
Picking her daughter up gently she let the girl remina asleep while she carried her out of the room. Looking at L'kel for a long moment she smiled. Nothing made her feel so good as having th eones she loved around. She wondered yet again if L'kel wanted any children. Perhaps she would get up the nerve to ask him someday or maybe he would say something. At the moment though Morelia was too happy to think about that. "Lets take her to my weyr for a little while."

L'kel stayed quietly by Morelia's side as they picked up Berelia. He smiled warmly at the creche nanny before he left. This probably wasn't the most uncommon of occurences, however. Being a creche nanny probably meant awake at all hours. "Arlight," He said softly to her. It was probably a good idea. He looked at Berelia for a second. She looked so cute sleeping, it tugged at him a little, but he ignored it.
"She's getting big, isn't she." He noticed. Kids always seemed to grow so much that he could hardly recognize them when eh saw them again. "Do you want me to carry her the rest of the way?" He didn't want the slight Greenrider to hurt herself when she was probably a little tired and shaken up. He wondered if he worried too much. Well, that was jus tpart of him loving her so much.

Morelia agreed. "She does seem to be gowing througha growth spurt lately." She realized just how heavy the child was getting. At his offer she thought a moment, well it would save her the trouble. She could carry the girl fine herself but she would also like to see L'kel holding the girl. "that might be best." She disentagling the sleeeping child from her body, giving her gently to L'kel.
He was so good to think of her all the time. She wouldn't want for anything while she had him. She watched the sleeping child wrap her arms around the tall bronzerider. "I think Bera feels very comfortable with you." Her grin spread then she mused for a liottle while. the child needed to be fostered.... and not far from her. She coudn't bear not seeing her daughter whenever she wanted. Perhaps she should have thought about this befrore she had had children or became a dragonrider. Ahh well it was too late for that so she just lbegan to think silently to herself about the young girl's future..

L'kel smiled although he was a little nervous, "Ok then," He took the girl carefully in his arms, as if she was glass. He sweallowed. It was an odd feeling, holding the 5 turn old, but not an altogether bad one. He grinned foolishly as her little arms went around him.
"Thats good." He looked at the top of the girl's head for a moment, staying quiet, "I-I want to get to know her, i want her to be comftorable with me, you know?" He said, a little unsure. He wasn't really good at these conversations, "She seems like a pretty good kid, the creche nannies but love her." He remarked aftre a moment, mind you, he had only met her a couple times.
"Here we go," he said, as they reached her weyr. He placed Berelia gently on the bed. He stood akwardly, unsure of what to do. "Are you hungry at all, i know you didn't get to eat much at the feast. I think i have some chilled meat rolls and things down the hall in my weyr if you'd like?" He offered. A good thing about her being in his wing was that their weyrs were close together. "Or you can just lay down for a while with Bera." He began to babble on. It was funny, for not beign much of a talker, that he did that, but it was probably just from lack of practice in the area. He sighed, smiling a little. He wrapped his arms around the greenrider gently, "Or we can just be together, the three of us."

Morelia knew the child had that extra something that dragonriders had... it was so easy to see in her but the fact was, few women ever impressed dragons. She really ought to start thinking about apprenticing her. L'kel seemed so unsure of himself around Bera. Morelia looked at the two of them together and smiled warmly. It seemed so like family. Actually her father would ahve liked to see this... he had never been fond of Bronze riders either but only because he was a bit of a rebel when it came to authority.
"Oh the creche nannies think she is a handful and always runs away...to my weyr at night... and she tends to cause mischief, get into fights with other girls. Shes a lot like someone else I know." The child was a lot like Morelia for not seeing her as much as she would like.
Morelia took L'kel's hand after he placed Berelia on te bed. "Lets just relax the three of us." She didn't need to be away from him to be near her daughter, in fact she liked the thought of the three of them together. With Berelia always wanting to know who her father was this might be a good idea...she might begin to see L'kel as a father figure and not need to know who her real father was.
Morelia laid herself down on the bed, stroking her daughters head once before looking at L'kel. He did so much for her that she had never expected and even now he was suprising her with the suggestion of the three of them being together. Most men didn't want to know about the children, especially when the child was not their own.

L'kel smiled a little teasingly, "Now who else do i know who's a little mischevious?" He leaned forward and kissed the greenrider for a second. Then he held her hand as the rested on the bed, the three of them. He reached a hand out and stroked a strand of hair out of Morelia's face, in a similar way to she was doing to Berelia. Sometimes he worried he cared for her too much like a child, becuase he worried to much and was too protective, but he couln't help it, he loved her.
He whispered, so as not to wake Berelia, "We don't have to talk about it now if you don't want to. But if you can, can you tell my why that man bothered you so much. I got that there is history there, but if you can tell me, i'd like to know." He frowned a little, worried. He still remembered how shook up she had been and it had bothered him.

Morelia smiled at his words. Of course her daughter would be like her, she was raising her instead of fostering, and she knew she shouldn't but somehow she ahd not been able to let the girl go. Then L'kel brought up a subject that she knew they'd be facing sooner or later. "Its a long story but its one you are going to need to hear sooner or later so I suppose now is as good a time as any." She sighed a moment before her eyes looked directly into his and she began to tell him about her rather jaded past.
"I was born at Lateo Weyr and so was Berleren, he was two turns older than I. Though we didn't really meet up until I was aout fourteen. He was charming and handsome, though my father warned me of his nature early on, so I stayed away. When I was sixteen I went to sodalis and impressed Naraleth. It was a few turns later when I was at a Feast that I met up with B'leren. Of course he had a beautiful woman with him like he always does. He generally knows how to manipulate women to do what he wants.
I did not really care to be involved with him at that point either, though he hounded me for several turns after that. I finally gave in and thought if he had wanted me that badly then perhaps he wouldn't need any other women. The problem was that I would never know. I was at sodalis adn he at Lateo. We were fine until I found him with other women, so began our off again on again relationship. He broke my heart over and over and over again. Even after I truly broke contact with him he found ways to get me back. He doesn't even know that he has a child...." She glanced at her daughter. "I don't want him to know. I hate him." Morelia said it vehemently. SHe really did hate him.

L'kel shifted over a little has she began, and slowly put his arms around her, drawing her head to his chest. He listened silently, staying still, comforting her. He sighed, so tha twas it. That was Bera's dad, and that was what he had done to Relia. He waited to pick his words, "I really wish i'd hit him now," Well maybe that wasn't quite what he had wanted to say, "I'm sorry, its just i can't stand that he did that to you. And then Bera is his daughter but he doesn't deserve her. She's better than him too." He frowned and rolled onto his side.
He came to decision and set his jaw, "I'll try and be the father to Bera he never was and never will be. I don't want him to take her if he finds out. Whether he knows or not is your decision, but i think you both deserve better. I'm scared, ok, but i want to try...ok? I want to take care of both of you..." He added, a little unsure after he'd said all that.

Morelia was not as sure of herself as the Bronzerider was, but she was always certain about her daughter... she would never be her father's child as far as Morelia was concerned. Every time she had been read to tell him about the child he had done something to screw up the relationship. Now at least she had learned from her mistake. L'kel was being thoughtful about Bera and though she wanted him in the child's life she wasn't sure if the child would still want to know about her real father. Of course she would tell Bera when the girl was older, now would be a bad time for it.
She almost forgot the child was sleeping right on the bed with them. "I know you'll be good to her as you are always good to me." She paused thinking for a moment about the young child's future. "I was considering fostering her soon..." Morelia looked disenheartened at that thought. She would raise the child herself if she had the time. Perhaps she should go into a less intensive wing...Naraleth wouldn't like that at all.

L'kel nodded thoughtful, he stayed quiet for a moment. "Well you could probably get her fostered in the Weyr somehwre, or if you want her to have a little more room to grow up, until she's old enough to stand, she could go to one of the nearbye cotholds." He suggested. He realized it might be hard for Morelia to let go of her daughter, even if it was needed. "I could always check out some places."
He wanted to get to know Bera, but maybe it wouldn't be good for her to be raised in the creche. He was holdbred...he had turned out ok.

Morelia knew that L'kel was holdbred and probably didn't realize what the issue was with riders keeping their children. Attachments of that nature were frowned upon and Morelia well knew it. That was why she had let her other two go to fostering as soon as possible. The more she thought about the less she liked thinking about it. She just smiled at L'kel warmly. "We can talk about it more another time." It would give her time to get her own opinions in her mind and research her ideas further so she would know she was making the right decision.
Her blue eyes looked up at him lovingly. Morelia leaned into him touching his face with one slender hand. "I love you." She said meaning it more than even when she had first spoken the words.

He nodded realizing it might be good to drop the subject. He smiled down at her, his eyes loving and tender. "You know i love you too," He replied honestly and truly. He shifted on the bed, feeling his eyes begin to droop. "Maybe we should get some sleep. I'm guessing we'll get the morning off tomorrow because of hatchign fest hangovers, so we can do something nice then." He suggested.

Feeling herself begin to get sleepy, she agreed now was time to sleep. No doubt Berelia would be up early anyway. "Sleep it is. We can worry about tomorrow, tomorrow." She added not wanting to think about it too much before sleeping then she would stay awake thinking and that was not a good thing to do, especially with two early risers in her midst.

((We got two thumbs up from da admins ) L'kel woke up, at the gray time just before the sun began to peek over the horizon. He wasn't surpised that Morelia was still asleep. It looked however, that he wasn't the only one awake. "Hey Bera" He whispered, agknowledging the little girl. He put a finger to his lips, poiting towards Relia. He whsiepred again, "You wanna take a walk and let her sleep. I'l get you a bubbly." He grinne.d This could be a nice chance to get to know Berelia. And he doubted Morelia needed to be woken up now after her ordeal the night before.

Berelia was suprised to see L'kel up so shortly after she woke. Smiling warmly she walked to the bed and placed a blanket over her sleeping mother. "Oh she never wakes up early. No matter the noise." The little girl answered but quickly added in, "where are we walking to?" As quickly as the words escaped her small lips, a small hand had reached for the Bronzerider's own hand.
The girl's innocent, round blue eyes showed an eagerness to get moving. She could have a bubbly if she wanted! Momma wouldl let her but then she really liked L'kel. She trusted him...her mother trusted him. she could go on a walk with him and not be in trouble. Mom only said not to go out alone with strangers and besides she liked going out and doing things in the morning.
