L'kel walked along side the little girl, takign a bite out of a luke warm bubbly pie every once and a while. He looked out at the river as they strode along the bank. This was nice, he was getting to know Morelia's daughter, somethign that had to happen. "So are you enjoying your Bubbly?" he aske,d looking down at her as he spoke.
He satyed silent for another moment, "Hey, you wanna go on my shoulders for a bit?" He remembered liking that when he was younger. For a kid, it was like you were on top of the world...nothing like being adragonaback, but still kinda fun.

Berelia, though she had tried to eat the pie as cleanly as possible still ended up with pie guts all around her mouth and n her hands. When she had finished she grinned up at L'kel. "That was delish." She shortened the word like she always did. Still smiling. "Oh yes! Like a piggy back ride?" Berelia wasn't too concerned with where they were going though she was increasingly aware of how sticky her fingers were. "Maybe I should wash up first. My hands are awful sticky."

L'kel glanced down at the little girl, she was a little sticky and he tried to avoid laughing. She was rather cute. "Well i'm glad it was good, maybe we should go down to the river and you can just rinse off. Then you can have a piggy back ride." He ushered her down the bank a little. Not wanting her to slip he held her stickly little hand anyways. He could wash up too.
Something caught his eye once he was down to the edge of the water. A little bit of the lower bank was covered by leaves and tree ranches that had proably been knocked down in some storm which really wasn't anything out of ordinary, but underneath the overhang he spotted patches of mottled white. "Hey Bera, come over here. I think i found something." He pointed at the tree. "C'mon lets investigate." He said, grinning.

She grinned and nodded excitedly. Her mother would have had fun too but she was sleeping. Naraleth was up though. The dragon was generally up before her mother. Bera liked the green who always checked in on her. She went to where L'kel indicated. At first all she saw were tree branches and the like then the white mottled eggs caught her blue eyes.
She looked up at L'kel a moment and asked "Are those firelizard eggs?" She was intrigued by anything that had anything to do with dragons and having a firelizard sounded like just as much fun as having a dragon.

L'kel peered at the eggs as well. they certainyl weren't wherrie eggs. "I do belive so." He inspected it further and noticed that most of the eggs were broked, a couple of them looked all right though."Judging hte by their size and the lack of mother around,i guess they were green." He scooped his hands under the warm sands and drew out the few remaining eggs.
"They certainly feel about ready to pop out any moment now." He heldout the three eggs to Bera. He had an idea, how aobut a present. If she was fostered away it could help her remember Sodalis, and now he'd have given her a gift. He didn't think Morelia would mind much. His own flit, Eko, sensing the eggs popped out of between and landed on L'kel'sshoulder. He began humming softly.
He wasn't surpised that there weren't many other flits there though, since it was onyl a green. "Hey Bera," He held out theggs," Why don't you pick one. You could have a fire lizard of your own." He smiled. Fortuanatly he had saved enough of their snack to impress with, if she wanted to.

The little girl was watching the eggs and L'kel picking the eggs up. She saw his flit come from between and giggled. A green clutch? She didn't know greens could clutch. Green dragons never did. "Why do green firelizards clutch but not green dragons?"
Her eyes widened as heheld three eggs out to her. She inspected them all very closley and took the one that she liked best based on appearance and no deformities to the egg. "You mean it? I can really really have one?!" Her little arms wrapped around L'kel's legs thanking him in her own way.

L'klel thought about it, "Well, i think its because green dragons chew firestone so they can't clutch, but maybe not all green fire lizards do. So they can have clutches...but usually the clutches are only green dragons. I hope you wouldn't midn a green?" He added, nervously. He knew some girls who wouldn't stand for anything less than a little gold pet.
"Yep, its yours," He put the other two back. "Now we shoudl probably take the egg back up to the Weyr and show your mother, before it hatches in your hands." Which, he thought to hismelf, was perfectly possible.

Bera was not at all picky about what color her pet would be. Green, Blue, Brown, Bronze or Gold really made no difference. What mattered was it was going to be hers. "Why should that matter? after all Naraleth is green and she is one of thebest dragons I have met." Berelia had not exactly met that many but she was a good dragon and mother always said Naraleth was very good for a green.
"I'm sure Mommy will want to see. She doesn't like pets, says they waste time." Bera said nonchalantly. After all it was her flit not her mother's. L'kel didn't seem to mind flits either since he had one. They could certainly persuade her mother.

L'kel nodded, "But i'm sure she'll like yours." He put a gentle hand on her back and began walking her back up to the Weyr proper, "So do you have any name ideas?" He asked. He did hope Morelia wouldn't mind. ((Do we want to go back to Morelia's Weyr? Sorry bout da one liner, all he had to say. ))

(Bera will be fostered in the Weyr, to the dragonhealer and yeah I think she will consider L'kel her father. I can reply to yours in the new thread at Morelia's Weyr.)
