Amoare found a smile on her face at his name for Pleta, silently agreeing that she was a strange one. Hearing the mischievousness in his question, she returned it with just as mischievous an answer; “And what if I am?”
Tevern heard P’resh’s advice and moved over to the right what was a good sized step for him, but only a ‘little bit’ for the dragon. Or so he hoped. His mind was a mess right then and he didn’t trust himself talking. First off was the fact that he was washing a dragon, a riders job. The excitement was enough in itself to render him silly. The conflicting emotion of defeat in losing Amoare, however, just confused him. He’d been a good friend to her and yet she had warmed up to the bronze rider instead. Was it because he was just a candidate? He couldn’t blame her for taking the best she could achieve. She’d have a bronzer anyways, once she impressed the gold Tevern was sure she would.
His head perked up at the riders voice calling Amoare ‘love’. He sighed softly and wondered at her answer, as well as how he’d ever be able to compete with such a man when he had no dragon of his own.
“This evening?” Amoare asked, putting a finger to her lips. “Nothing I suppose. Chores are done.” she said with a shrug as she went back to her administrations. “Why?”

"Oh, just trying to find a good time to take you to see the jungle is all," P'resh said lightly, knowing his words would carry enough meaning without him slathering it on. "It would seem that Merda keeps you all so busy, though, that I really don't know when we could go," he told her, dripping fake innocence. He supposed he could steal her away anytime he wanted, but that action wouldn't be without repercussions. And P'resh was a wingsecond. Above all, he had to maintain his position; someday, that confidence and determination would make him a Weyrleader.
When Tevern reached Kaunth's itchy spot, Kaunth rumbled his relief loudly. Apparently, it had been a rather irritating itch, and P'resh told Tevern so. "You done him a good service, boy," he told Tevern. Kaunth turned to look at Tevern, eyes whirling a slow green-blue mixture. That showed thanks enough.
"When do you think you could spare an old Bronzer enough time to spirit you away from this droll place?" he said, now feigning a need for pity.

Amoare’s eyes lit up with excitement, a light that Tevern couldn’t help but noticed. “Really?” she asked eagerly, forgetting that the bronze lay before her waiting to be washed. She’d been looking forward to seeing where Feloz had come from along with all of the rarities that were suppose to have come from such a place.
Tevern looked from the women to the bronzer and back again. How he wish he had something to compete with! Ah… but he did, he realized. Surely a bronzer was not going to go for someone so young and innocent and still hang onto them when another appeared. He’d just have to wait and remain a good friend.
Seeing the bronze suddenly turn to him and rumble, Tevern couldn’t help but smile despite his thoughts. Patting the dragons back where he had been scrubbing, he continued for a moment before dropping his arms. “Well I hate to say it, but I’m worn out Amoare. See you tomarrow in class?” he asked as he began to walk back to the shore to retrive his shirt.
Amoare frowned, but didn’t keep it for long. “Of course Tevern! We can do chores again together as well if ya’d like.” she said cheerfully. Tevern smiled, happy with her answer before heading off. The young women turned back to P’resh hearing his feign for pity.
“Aww… Does the poor bronzer need to be reassured that he’s still got his girl?” she asked walking over to him and wrapping her arms around his waist to dangle and brush against his backside.

"No. I'm not too worried about that boy. He's got nothin' on me," P'resh said, smiling to take the sting out of his words. He watched as the boy strolled off.
I liked him, Kaunth said.
"I know you did. He's good at bathing a dragon," P'resh said grudgingly. He put his own arms on her shoulders, and kissed her forehead. "And just think, when you have your gold, we'll bathe them together."
I'd like that, Kaunth said to for both of them. Golds are pretty.

Amoare smiled up at P’resh, delighted with his answer. “I’d love to bath my dragon with you and Kaunth.” she said smiling up at the taller man. Hearing the bronze’s reply, she couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“Oh Kaunth! I’m sure you’d love that! Bathing with a pretty little gold. You’re a flirt just like P’resh!” she laughed happily. Hugging P’resh tighter before finally releasing him, she moved back to the dragon’s side, running her hand along the wet hide still searching out the nicks that flawed it.

Kaunth rumbled to Amoare as she rubbed his hide. Her hands were softer than P'resh's, and they rubbed him hard enough to work a kink or two out of the dragon's muscles. P'resh grabbed onto the dragon's tail and let it swash him around in the water. It was a childish thing to do, but the water felt good on P'resh's skin, and he didn't much care, as Amoare was the only one around to see.
"No, I don't believe there is anything Kaunth would like more than that," he told her loudly, attempting to make himself heard over the splashing water. "I hear there's a flight coming up, you know," he told her.

“A flight? Really?” Amoare had been waiting for the next flight for what seemed ages. How long had it been now since the last one? Almost six months to say the least! Finding a rough spot on Kaunth’s hide, she scrubbed at it, her excitement of a possible flight entering into her work.
“Which queen? Do you know? I heard that Lateo’s umm… Savath went up and there is a clutch on the sands...” She sighed, she’d heard like every other candidate that there hadn’t been a gold egg either. Given the choice to stand or not, she had chosen not to. She still had plenty of years ahead of her and besides, she wanted to stay at Sodalis, it was her home.
The realization that she was washing bronze hide made her smile. Hitting Kaunth playfully she smiled at the giant orbs set into his head. “I bet you’ll be after the lady too won’tcha?”

P'resh actually blushed. He hadn't really thought about flying after Caliath and Merda since he had been with Amoare. As of now, he was hoping for a Gold egg on the sands for her to Impress so he could ask her to be his Weyrmate. He supposed he could just ask her, but he was under the impression that candidates had to stay in the barracks, and that was probably for the best anyway. "Oh, I dinno," he replied, attempting to sound casual and nonchalant. "I hadn't thought about it, but I guess Kaunth will fly after the senior queen Caliath if he can," he told her. One look at Kaunth's swirling eyes told them all they needed to know. "I guess that's an affimative," P'resh said, laughing. "I guess I'll just have to keep you close by, just in case," he said, turning the ball back to her court.

Amoare smiled at Kaunth’s obvious answer to the question. “I bet you’ll get her too! I’ve never seen a more handsome bronze.” Turning back to find P’resh next to her again, she listened to his statement, a look of puzzlement slowly growing on her face.
“What do you mean close by? Just in case of what?” she was genuinely confused now. Why would she need to be close by for Kaunth to catch the queen.

P'resh looked back down at her and smiled, a blush filling his cheeks hotly. "Well, during a flight, you understand..." He trailed off. Determined to tell her, he picked up quickly. "Okay, well, it's that the male riders can become...rather impassioned. And even if we don't win the Queen, we still have to...you see, get rid of the passion. The passion," he said, gesturing widely with his hands. "I sure do hope you understand, because I'm not sure I have the constitution to explain any further." Grinning, he patted his dragon's hide.

The puzzled look took a moment before it faded into a look of realization. Her lips formed a silent “o” as her face warmed at the picture of lust-filled men that found their way into her mind. Concentrating on the last of the rough spots for a moment more before turning back to the man next to her.
Looking up, she smiled at him. “Well I guess I had best not let another women get a hold of you. Its probably worse than when men drink, huh?” Laughing she wrapped her arms around his middle and hugged him tightly. She was not ready to loose him, especially in a gold flight.

P'resh sighed, relieved, and hugged the girl back. "Yes, I suppose it would. I've never been a big drinker, myself," he told her, glad she understood what happened in a gold Flight. Glancing at Kaunth, he was almost blinded by the dragon's now glowing hide reflecting sunlight back at him. "I'd say Kaunth is pretty clean." Kaunth, are you clean? Can you feel any rough spots? the rider asked.
No. Can I go sleep? the dragon asked. P'resh laughed.
"Of course," he replied. The dragon surprise the rider by launching out of the water and flying to rest on his ledge. "You cut it a little close there, huh?!" he yelled after the dragon, now even further wet. "That dragon," he said to Amoare.
