O'myron sighed and took his place at the head of his table and waited for the first Weyrling from the Fidelis Class to approch him. Today was the day the wingleaders would argue over who got to be in their wings. Often, the more boisterous riders took to Ardeo, the nice riders took to BloodChar, and Duro took the rude ones.
Sipping from his goblet, he reflected that he'd rather have had P'resh or S'mon do this.
But P'resh would have run them off, and S'mon is really too quiet and introverted for the job, Ninienth said slowly.
That's very true, the rider conceded, swallowing the sip he had been savoring in his mouth. He looked up from the chart in front of him, and thought he saw someone approaching the table.

Z'rion was first as usual...he made it a point to eb first as the only Bronze in his class. He entered smiling his lopsided smile, mischief was clearly seen in his eyes. He spied O'myron and greeted him formally, "Hello. I'm th efirst Weyrling for interviews. I'm Z'rion of Bronze Viderieth."
He was not shy in the least and sat down wherever he pleased at the table deciding to sit as close as possible to the older man. Don't scare them all away now... We have to be put in a wing even if no one wants us. Why shouldn't they want us? Ask D'len...we are trouble.

"Welcome to Duro Wing Interviews, young man. I am Wingleader O'myron, rider of bronze Ninienth." He shuffled some papers. "My review here says you have a tendency to be in trouble, a bit disruptive, and boisterous?" O'mryon grunted. "You sound like an Ardeo to me. But maybe it's time for Duro to get a taste of something different," he conceded. "Very well, then. Why would you want to be in Duro Wing?"

"The truth is I'd be an asset to any wing. I'm confidant and I take orders well. Personalyl I feel that every wing could use another likeable rider in their midst. I am a genuinely happy person and that makes me a likeable guy. In my Weyrling class if any of my peers needed something I would make sure that the issue got resolved quickly. Viderieth and I do like to pull stunts and thingas that are obviously not allowed for Weyrlings but we are capable of being serious adnd committed Wingriders."Z'rion was not sure he answered the question but he wanted them to get a better perception of why he would do well in their wing. He didnt knwo enough about them to really say why exaclty he would want to be intheir wing...perhaps there were some really lovely greens.

O'myron frowned. "I see," he said uncommitally. He didn't think this bronze rider would work well in Duro, even if he was his clutch's only bronze. Especially as young as he was. Z'rion really had a great personality, and O'myron'd love to have him in the wing, but he knew the other riders would not do their best to welcome the young man.
That's not fair. Leviath and his rider would, Ninienth said. And Helliath and his rider.
Eh, but that's two out of how many, Nin. He'd be better used in Ardeo or maybe BloodChar.
But O'myron was willing to give the young rider the benefit of his doubt. "Alright. How do you feel your weyrling training has gone so far?"

Z'rion was not at all put off by the question adn proceeded, "Despite constantly creating trouble for D'len...he needs to lighten up a bit by the way... I have always done well with Weyrling trainnig. I do the work for my lessons well and in the way a leader should for his class mates. I would say that from a authoritative point of view its gone badly but from a scholarly point of view it has gone very well. I am sure there is still plenty for me to learn." He admitted, though he hated talking about his weaknesses, why couldn't people focus on strengths?

"Alright, but what would convince me that you could follow orders, if from an "authoritative point of view," your weyrling training hasn't gone well?" O'myron asked. That was the problem with these young people. They always felt the need to be outside of the rules. Then he remembered how he'd been as an adolescent, how he'd always been in trouble himself. Actually, this young man reminded O'myron a lot of himself, and O'myron remembered how well he had done after being assigned into a wing.

"I suppose you could just ask the Weyrlingmaster...He would tell you that I have done everythign I was ordered t do. I did all ttasks well and in a timely manner." These interviews were not much fun rather boring actually, he really wished they could just look at the darn sheet of paper that tells them everythign they need to know. Shard it all, he was going to be in the Weyrhall all day. And its so gorgeous out today...

"I see. Yes, I will be talking with M'larain. Well, I like to keep these things short. I don't see any point to conversation about your family or any of them--you're the one that could be in the wing!" O'myron laughed derisively. Occasionally, the Ardeo wingleader had Weyrlings at his table for hours, talking pointlessly. O'myron supposed it was only the other idiots who would sit there and talk to him that made it in the wing. "You may go, unless you have any questions for me."

"It was great meeting you, Wingleader O'myron." Z'rion said leaving the table just as confidantly aas when eh walked up. He winked to a couple of his obviously nervous classmates. Ahh to be free of this hall... One more interview...Ardeo...hmmm...well it couldn't be that bad. I mena another half a candlemark and he could start making preparations.
