"C'mon you guys," Dyalos urged the others onward. His group consisted of three or four other candidates or weyrbrats around his age. All boys of course, girls couldn't be trusted for this sort of operation. He had been in a bit of a slump, he thought recently, and what a better way to break it then with a little game of bubbly-napping. He had sent one of the yougner kids to scout out earlier and had received conformation that a new batch of bubbly pies was just out of the oven.
He gave them the signal to wait up a bit. He went down onto his hands and knees, creeping over to the coutner where the steaming pies lay. He pressed himself against the wall as one of the assistants went by. Fortauanaatly she didn't noticed a young skinny, dark-haired scamp in the shadows. Onyl a few more feet to go...he reached up, feeling his way along the edge of the counter till his figners conected with hot pastry. He had done this before and knew the art of it. He took the burningly hot pie in his figners for jus ta seconbd and then flipped it into the open sac he had held out. It would be a little smushed, but it woudl taste just as good. He sucked his fingers. Yoiu had to make sure to get them when they were right out, because that wa sthe only way to be sure thye wouldn't be moved...or stolen by a rival group of young miscreants.
He had succesfulyl nabbed 3 bubblies whe nhe accidently let his hand hold the 4th for a second to long and it fell with a slapped as he wishdrew hi figners sharply. "Ow." He whispered a little too loudly. He hoped no one had heard the splat and his following exclamation, otherwise he was way busted!
