Kathrein stood by the tables watching and waiting for the pairings that would be her responsibility for the next 2 turns. The bowls full of raw meat filled the tables. The smell wasn't bad, but strong. Tath sat on his perch humming in a soft deep voice. His eyes whirling slowly with blues and greens. He enjoyed hatchings and always enjoyed helping his bonded with the new Weyrlings.
The first to hatch, a blue bonded to A'bryn, Kath remembered to contract his name. It always made the new riders happy to hear their honorific. She waited as the two made their way toward the tables. She could hear the hatchling creeling it's hunger. It always touched her soft spot to hear that pitious crying. Kath was never so patient or soft spoken to her new Weyrlings as she was during that first meal.
"Congratulations A'bryn, He is a fine blue." Kath said. "His name is Duroth, Weyrling Master, and he is so hungry it is making my stomach ache just awfully." A'bryn replied. Handing him a bowl, Kathrein assisted him in his Duroths first meal.
N'sond and his blue Ensyth headed toward the tables followed closely by R'sayu and his brown Arcusith. Tath crooned happily at the little brown, encouraging him that he would soon be full.

Zylaera and Carseith walked...er sort of stumbled excitedly to the table. Zylaera grabbed the nearest bowl she could see, not waiting for the weyrlingmaster and instructed her weyrling, as she had seen many pervious newly bonded do, "Make sure to chew." she tutted at the little green. The green filled herself up unti lshe was severaly swollen and lethargic. You Carseith is rther sleepy now. Zylaera still found the minwords quite astounding. "Of course Carseith." She looekd around, wondering what she was supposed to do nect. Maybe she should have asked the Weyrlingmaster when she got there...not a very good start.

Weyrling Master Kathrein greeted each new hatchling and rider as they approached the tables. M'ron, her assistant, helped pass out bowls full of the meat. Y'undo seemed to be slightly disoriented as the mind bond with his new lifemate seemed overpowering. Kathrein was helping him through his confusion and carefully instructed him on the feeding process. She noticed Zylaera stuffing her small green without asking any help. When she was finally able to leave Y'undo to assist Zylaera, the little green appeared very swollen.
"Zylaera I commend your independence but I think you might have overfed...." she said, waiting for Zylaera to introduce her dragon. "Often when a new hatchling eats until they are so swollen they will wake in the night with a tremendous stomach ache. If this happens you will need to inform me or M'ron." she continued after the introduction.
"Carseith will be very sleepy now and needs to be taken to the Weyrling Barracks to sleep." she told Zylaera. Indicating the two brown riders standing by she told the weyrlings who had finished feeding to follow them to the barracks."When your new lifemate is settled and asleep you may join the Hatching Feast for a little while." That said, she turned her attention to the sands.

Zylaera glanced up at the Weyrlingmaster, when a half smile. She found it hard to concentrate on katherin with Carseith's variosu comments in her head. "Careseith Weyrlingmaster, Green carseith." She gave with a willig nglance. Who's that. "Kathrein, little one. Shh." I'm all sleepy...and i my tummies all full. Why'd you feed me so much. "I hardly think its all my fault...now be quite for a minute!" she hissed with an apologizing look at the Brownrider. Carseith was already turning into a little handful. You can't tell me to be quiet! Now i wanna go to sleep, take me somewhere i can sleep! Zylaera backed away fro mKatherin with a slight bob of her head, apologetic again.
She followed the two brown riders and the other new Weyrlings. She surveyed the new group of her classmates with her usual superiority. The only tow she new were K'lan and hal'on. The first of whom wan't her favorite of weyrlings, and the latter almost a stranger. There were no other girls yet either. She hoped it didn't end up with her beign totally alone as the only female.
She futilly attempted to shut out Carseith's sleepy, yet unending chatter and string of questions. Who's that dragons...and that one?She looked tyo every "big one" she saw. Zylaera did her best to name the ones she knew. Who rides the Bronze? She asked flicking her small head towards K'lan's bronze. "K'lan's darling...oh please don;t tell me your itnerested in males already?[/b] The green shrugged. Zyalera had a feeling she could just collapse from exahautio nof the Green's questions and had a feelign she would have simialr sentiments in the next coming months. She gave her Green an absoultly adoring smile.

Verity and Ourith made their way to the feeding tables. Verity's stomach was growling for her Ourith, and she knew that she needed to be fed. I'm hungry. I know, but we have to wait for instructions, I don't want to overfeed you. Don't worry so much. You are perfect to me, I already told you that. You are the perfect one, Ourith. Please just wait for the Weyrling Master to help us. I'm hungry. Verity walked closer to the tables, looking for a bowl with which to feed her Ourith. Hopefully, she thought, someone will help me before I do something wrong. She was still smiling, thinking about Ourith and how much she loved her. Nothing would ever be the same.

T’mar practically stumbled out of the sands in his hurry to get to the food and yet not wanting to leave Siath behind in anyway. Siath for his part was hurrying though not as recklessly as his rider, waves of happiness and draconic laughter mixed with intense hunger that made T’mars stomach growl reached out to him as he stumbled but managed somehow to catch himself. Finally reaching the tables, T’mar struggled with a bole of meat as Siath waited patiently but keening. “Ok I got it, now one at a time I think…” the brown moaned as T’mar put one hunk at a time in his mouth. The new rider flinched and looking around put two in instead. “You have to chew Siath or you will choke.”
Worried and unsure of him self for the first time T’mar looked around for the Weyrling Master or one of her assistance, the last thing he wanted to do was something that would hurt his Siath. Finally finding and receiving a nod from one of the assistance as the Weyrling master herself was busy, T’mar turned back to the most beautiful brown in the world. He talked as Siath ate, telling him about the Weyr and about Temor, the boy that was with him on the sands, and about the people. Slowly the red in the dragons eyes began to wane turning blue as he listened happily to his rider, he could listen to the boy all day…

Verity noticed that the other riders were feeding their's with reassurance. She grabbed a bowl and began to feed Ourith, careful not to over feed her.
Thank you. You're welcome, love.
Verity began to talk to Ourith, thinking how beautiful she was and how much she loved her. She continued to feed the young dragon while she conversed with her.

T’mor arrived a quite a bit after T’mar, after he had taken his time in the sands and was not running and there for not falling to get to the meat. Slow and steady… though not too slow as the green insisted again and again that she would shortly die of hunger. The new green rider couldn’t wipe the smile from his face as he sped up a bit. He didn’t mind the sound of her voice in his head, just like it seemed he didn’t mind talking to her silently though he felt no sudden erg to talk to anyone, but T’mor.
T’mor was chatting away but stopped it seemed on instinct as he looked up to see his old and only friend moving is way with, “A Green! Oh that is wonderful Tem… T’mor!” he was so exited his eyes sparkling as he longed to run to the boy but not leave his brown. He didn’t have to however as T’mor made his way to the blond boy. Nearly shaking with excitement again T’mar looked around not sure what to say or do for the second time in his life. “Food” was all T’mor had to say again to snap him out of it as he snapped his fingers and moved to get a bowl of meat for his friend.
Siath’s eyes where beginning to droop as he was no longer hungry but was now so, so tired. He purred a greeting to his sister as her rider began to feed her with instructions from his own rider as though he had been doing it his entire life. Secusith for her part purred back before focusing completely on the food that didn’t seem to come fast enough. But if there was one thing about dragons it was they did not need there mouth to talk. The pain goes away? Dose it? I’m so, so hungry… she was talking to the brown as well as her rider and both assured her quickly as she downed another bit of meat hardly chewing. She was corrected almost immediately with a loving shake of the head from T’mor and she tried to slowdown.

Jith ate slowly. her struggle with the egg shell had weakened her considerally. "Eat some more Jith." Monara had never heard of Hatchling not willing to eat till it burst before. {b} I'm tired Monara can't I go to sleep?{/b} The pleading tone nearly made Monara give in. But she knew how much the young dragnets counted on there first meal. "No...finish the bowland then we can go to bed, you don't want to wake up hungry do you?" Monara couldn' t help but smile, she could guess that in the days to come; Jith being hungry wound't be a rare occurence. Monara just hoped Jith's appetite improoved. Jith mummbled something but continued to eat until Monara saw fit that she was full...enough.
A breath of cold air herald the arrival of Kye. The brown flit landed next to the scrapes bowl. First, though, he checked out the new dragnet. Crawling up onto Monara's shoulder, Kye studied Jith. During all this time he was chirping, happily chatting with his person's new dragon. After a good 10 minutes Monara had to stop the welcoming flit. "thats enough Kye. Can't you see your boring her to tears?" The flit turned its head to Monara, then hopped down and began gobling up the leftover scraps. {b} You were on a boet-boat? What happened?{/b} "Uh..." Memoies rushed into Monara's mind. She made sure that Jith did't see the worst of them though, just enough for her to understand what had happened to Monara and Kye and how she had ultimately ended up Impressing Jith.
{b} I see...the flit gave me images that were very confusing . I understand now....can we go to bed? I'm tired {/b} "Sure we can go as soon as I make sure I know were we are supposed to go." Looking around Monara spotted the Weyrling Master, Kathrein. Walking up to her, with Jith by her side, Monara politely asked, "Um...do you know where we're are supposed to go to sleep?" Monara knew it was a stupid question, ofcourse the Weyrling Master would know where they were supposed to go. But how else was Monara to ask without being rude?
