Kabhi sat in the shallows of the water, wearing as little clothing as possible. It was still warm out, with only a slight chill in the tropical air warning of the approaching winter. Funny, Kabhi thought, It never seems to get too Wintery in Winter. Alth snorted from underneathe the water, plainly glad that it never got cold. Kabhi giggled and tossed her hair, the longish length gaining heat from the sunlight. It had its beach-bleach in it, causing blonde streaks. The woman felt very relaxed, even though she was pregnant.
Her stomach, now slightly swollen with the signs of a pregnancy into the second trimester, glinted with water in the sunlight of early afternoon. Kabhi smiled and dripped water over it with her hands. She had carefully avoided going between since she figured out her condition, Alth helping her to remember. And then there was L'nuo, who was her baby's father. She smiled, thinking of his handsome smile and flirtacious manner. He was everything she wasn't-- outgoing, salacious, and all, but most of all, he was and had been supportive of her keeping the child born of their affair. Having had been the only mother of any of his children that had bothered telling him of the impending birth, she experienced a joy from him that had been overwhelming, to say the least.
L'nuo is good, Alth said. A good man.
"Oh, very well-spotted, Alth," Kabhi said, giving her low-pitched giggle. "But he is." Vaguely, she wondered if she'd see him on the beach that day.
She had been fastidiously attempting not to follow and cling to L'nuo, in her promise not to bind him down. It wasn't that she wanted to weyrmate him or anything like that, but it was hard for her to not be around him all the time, now that her stomach was filled with the fruit of his loins. She shook her head to clear her mind. Such thoughts weren't good for the baby.
