Barduth dived for a second herdbeast, and J'daer grinned nastily. Watching his dragon hunt and kill filled the rider with a perverse pleasure. He still couldn't believe that Kyparla had let G'llahar's dragon fly her Gold instead of him. It was obvious that Barduth was far superior to that soft thing's so-called bronze. J'daer frowned, the memory displeasing him.
Next time, J'daer. I promise. The bronze had been as disappointed, if not more, that he hadn't won the flight. J'daer smiled, easing his frown away.
Yes, there will be a next time, won't there.
