Amoare had no problems following P’resh thru the darkness that met them outside. Watching as a large shadow grew to greet them, Amoare could only guess it was the bronze. Introductions proved it so.
Bowing toward the dragon in respect, Amoare spoke politely, “It is a pleasure to meet you Kaunth.” Straightening her body, she found herself wishing it was a little lighter out so she could see the bronze head she could sense before her.
A sudden flash of light made Amoare jump a good foot off the ground. Without thinking she had grabbed P’resh’s arm with a grip of terror even before she hit the ground. Looking to the sky she fought to keep her fright out of her voice. “Its going to rain isn’t it?” she asked softly.

Kaunth's bronze hide lit up as the lightning blared across the sky. Feeling Amoare hug tightly to his side, P'resh's eyebrows went up. He put an arm around her and smiled at her. "Yes, it would appear so," he said, nodding. "Is it bad if it does?"
Kaunth had moved closer to them, preparing to drop a shoulder if they needed it.

Amoare’s voice was lost to her fright as the first drops began to land on her skin. Were it not for P’resh’s arm around her she’d have bolted for the nearest door in blinding terror. His presence, however, was the nearer than any door and she had quickly buried her face in his chest.
The feeling of the rain landing on her skin had her near tears already and she fought to hold them back. Even as she managed that, she could not stop the sudden shaking that had taken control of her body. All she could think of was that she need to get out of the rain… “get out of the rain…” the softly spoken words that echoed her thoughts were muffled by the fabric of the bronzers shirt. She was too scared to move and could only cling to P’resh as first drops turned into a downpour.

P'resh's mouth turned into a subtle frown, and he put the sobbing girl on his bronze's back. He wasn't sure how many times she had flown before, so he placed her first and himself second so he could keep his arms firmly around her and less than properly tie her in the harness.
"Alright, Kaunth, to our weyr," he said, aloud so he could offer some comfort to Amoare, who was obviously afraid of the storm, and in his mind, so that Kaunth could hear him. They betweened.
As they burst through from the terrible cold, P'resh checked on Amoare as Kaunth took a short landing to the ledge.
"Ya cut it a bit close, Kaunth!" he snapped.
Sorry, said the dragon, sounding anything but. P'resh hoped Amoare wouldn't misinterpret this little squabble as real anger; P'resh and Kaunth were often a bit snippy with each other under stress. P'resh lead the young lady to the inside, and Kaunth retreated from the rain to his couch, where he glanced back and forth from the rain to Amoare interestedly.
I like her, Kaunth said, and everything was fine.
"I'm glad," the rider called back. He set Amoare on the edge of the bed and disappeared behind a curtain for a towel.

Oblivious to anything but the rain, Amoare didn’t even noticed the brief trip between. It wasn’t until she sat on the bed watching P’resh’s retreat that she became aware of her surroundings and to the fact that she was safe once again. Letting out another shudder and a sigh, she hugged herself as she looked around.
Still a little un-nerved, everything seemed to blur together slightly but she tried to take in the room in hopes of dispelling the fact that the sky fell outside. Taking a deep breath she let it out slowly. That’s when she realized she’d let P’resh see her weakness; a weakness that so very few knew about. Would he think any different of her?

P'resh jogged out from the washroom with the fresh cloths he had set out to dry in the steam that afternoon, and handed one to Amoare, who seemed to have slightly regained herself.
"Here, dry off," he told her, wiping his own rain-trailed face. Kaunth rumbled reassurances from the spicy-smelling couch. P'resh smiled and sat down next to Amoare on the bed.
"What was that all about, Amoare?" he asked, completely serious, but wearing a smile in a half-attempt to hide his worry.

Amoare took the towel with a soft ‘thank you’ as she dried her face and arms. Hearing his question, she found herself almost ashamed to answer. Looking into his eyes, however, Amoare remembered how he had been willing to offer himself to her and she felt he had the right to know so he might be able to change his mind.
“I… As a child I was trapped outside during a terrible storm… I… I was locked outside by some other kids and I couldn’t get in… The adults found me at the bottom of a washout unconscious the next morning…” While the explanation was vague and missing many pieces, Amoare couldn’t fill in the blanks. The simple thought of the experience had her shaking again and she was more than ready to hide from both the rain and whatever judgment she felt P’resh must be making of her right then.
Why did it have to storm tonight??

P'resh looked at her with his chin resting on his knuckles for a few moments, and then took her in his arms, moving over to be closer to her. "It's okay. I don't mind. It's a fear, and fears are good things to have sometimes. For instance, your fear of storms has kept you from being out and drowning in another ravine some where, you know."
Being somewhat unexperienced in matters of comfort, he used the dryest part of his own towel to dry a bit more of her hair. He hugged her again afterwards, and kissed her cheek. "You'll be fine," he assured her.

Slightly comforted at his words, Amoare sat quietly in thought as he dried her hair. It seemed an odd thing for him to do, but was strangely heartening. After his kiss on her cheek, Amoare felt much more relaxed in his arms and happy again to know that he was not upset with her.
“Thanks.” she said smiling up at him. “It means a lot.” Adding a kiss of her own to show she meant it, Amoare wrapped her arms around him returning the hug as well. The feeling of his warm body pressed against hers dispelled the last of her fears and she looked up at him, a weak teasing in her voice, “Looks like you’ve managed to get me to your bed rather quickly. Are you tired?”

At the mention of his bed, P'resh's eyes widened. "So it would seem that I have. I am a bit tired. Wrestling with you tonight has tired me out," he said, attempting to ignore his own unintended pun. He threw himself onto his back after disengaging himself from her arms. At this point, he did not wish to appear too forward. This relationship had to be nurtured, and he knew it.
"Kaunth says he likes you, by the way," he told her, rubbing her lower back affectionatly. "That's high praise from him," he said laughingly. Kaunth's snort was audible from the other room.
"Besides," he told her, "the real question is not if I am tired, but it is whether you want to sleep here tonight or in the candidate barracks, or wherever you usually bed down."

Amoare failed to remember wrestling with anyone and was slightly puzzled by the comment. Thinking of her bed, she knew there wasn’t any way she was going thru the rain to get to it. Grinning down at the man sprawled out before her.
“First off, I don’t remember any wrestling going on.” she said poking him in the ribs to stress her point. “And second, there is no way in fall I’m going outside while its raining. Your stuck with me.” A sudden bout of playfulness caught her and she reached out to tickle P’resh’s sides to see if he was as ticklish as he had found her to be.

He laughed at her misconstruation of "wrestling" and did not make the attempt to explain. Rubbing the place where she had poked his rips, he feigned immense pain. "Oooh, ouch, woman! Think you broke my bones!" he said. "Anyway, you'd be the best company I've ever been stuck with."
When she attempted to tickle his sides, he looked at her with an expectant look, as if to say, "Yes? Next?" Then he seized her sides and squinched his face up and tickled her sides like she had tried to do to him.
"I'm not ticklish, love...that you know of, anyway," he told her mysteriously.

Amoare giggled at his feigned pain. It was an uncontrollable laughter, however, that escaped her when he started to tickle her. Her slight scream of surprise was quickly lost between the laughs.
Realizing she was caught, she attempted to squirm away from him. “No fair! No fair!” she said between the fits of laughter when she could find air. During her squirming she lost balance and ended up falling on top of him. Looking up at his face from his chest, Amoare remembered the spot she’d set aside.
“I know how to get you!” she said playfully as she shrugged a little farther up onto him. Using one hand to gently lift his chin, she put her lips to his throat and kissed it several times, moving her lips in a slight biting movement each time.

"Oh you do, d..." P'resh trailed off as she kissed his neck, and his eyes went unfocued, though he wasn't bespeaking Kaunth. He allowed himself to be kissed, and he caressed her arm lightly.
It was at this point that he began to think. I wonder if I ought to stop her, he thought. I'm not sure she could handle what she's doing later on... When she bit above his carotid, a particularly sensitive spot, he disregarded all further thought, and kissed the hair that was falling on his face from her head.

Sensing a slight change in his body, although she failed to put a finger as to what it was, she brought her head up and looked at the rider below her. While his facial features had taken on a new expression she hadn’t seen before, she found herself pleased that she had been the one to bring it on.
Leaning forward, she kissed his lips. Gently at first, then growing in intensity. Parting them slightly, she tried out the small caresses she had just used on his neck. The feeling was wonderful and she found herself growing rather full of energy.
One hand rested on his shoulder, but the other lay down by his hip. Putting the latter to good use, she placed it on his stomach and let it slowly glide up to his chest where it jumped across to his wonderfully strong arms. After getting a good feel of his muscles, she brought it up to the side of his face, a handsome face she was just finishing her kiss with.
“Yes.” she said in a low tone under her breath, “I do know where I can get you.”
