The sky was dark at the zenith, with light stars glowing in the distance. As his eyes scanned downward the blue became lighter until changing to a teal then light green and yellow. The sun was only beginning its ascent. Lately the Bronzerider was thinking about so many things. What ifs, that rarely bothered him, did all the sudden weigh on his lighthearted spirit. His wingmates were concerned for him, their faces were transparent to him. Z'rion sighed deeply. Viderieth stood next to him, watching the suns rising as well.
Normally he would shake this off with some white wine from his stash and a lot of partying, even a girl or two in his bed. None of that was really appealing at the moment. The pure quiet or early morning, suited his present mood. Early drills today? No. I can't sleep well. The Bronze didn't press him. They understood eachother like no one else would ever understand. In silence they remained standing.
Z'rion wore nothing but his sleeping trouser, his hair was goign all different directions. He definately had that just rolled out of bed look down. He wouldn't go to drills like this but he wasn't going to be too concerned with his appearance either. He had better things to think about. He wasn't really thinking of recent events. Even as a child, he was mor interested in the future and what could be. He had always thought the future would be a positive thing.
Now he had a bad feeling in the pit of his grumbling stomach. He wondered, was thread actually coming to Pern? What would he do when it came? How would he feel if people began dying. Z'rion was holdbred and wasn't used to so much death and destruction. In fact he never thought he would lose someone he cared for until the Muneo Weyr incident.
