Amoare was half pleased and half disappointed when she found the weyrling’s common room deserted. Periheth had fallen asleep not to long ago and Amoare had planned to go along with some of the other weyrlings to the Hall for dinner. What she hadn’t planned on was it beginning to rain just as everyone left. Rain had a nasty habit of putting a big block in her plans.
Slumping onto one of the benches that sat in the room, she found herself lost in thought as she gazed at the fire. It had been nearly two seasons since she had impressed Periheth and she would have never guessed that it would have changed her life so, especially when she had been raised believing and preparing to be a gold rider. How could she have misjudged everything so badly? Never before had she thought everyone would distance themselves from her when she impressed. What had she done wrong?
She did not jump when the bronze flit called Lues appeared in front of her to land in her lap. Instead, she simply caressed him silently, never taking her eyes off the fire.

Amneris was quietly humming to Solo when she entered the Barracks completely drenched. She had forgotten something and had come back from dinner almost as she had begun. Noting that Amoare was there and remembering the other's fear of rain she smiled slightly. Everyone had their own problems.
"Amoare. You alright?" Neris asked, truly feeling bad that the other girl felt she couldn't go out in the rain. It must be hard enough being a Gold rider. Solo butted her neck encouragingly. Fusth had been asleep since before she left. It seemed baby dragons required a lot of sleep.
"If you want I can get you something from the kitchens real quick. It doesn't look like the rain is going to abate any time soon." The blonde shivered a bit. The rain was just the beggining of a cold season to come. Her light eyes scanned the room, it seemed they were the only people left at the barracks.

While Amoare hadn’t jumped when her bronze flit appeared, she did jump at the sound of someone’s voice. Turning her head quickly, she found Amneris standing there wet from head to toe. Standing quickly, the young gold rider looked worriedly at the other weyrling.
“Yes, I’m fine… Your soaked Amneris… Are you okay? Its raining outside!” she said as she turned, ready to make her way to the girls side of the barracks and search for a towel. At the mention of food, she paused and turned back to her fellow rider, her eyes not comprehending.
“Your going back out in the rain? Isn’t it coming down awfully hard?” At the mention of food, Lues piped up from still on the bench and Amoare found her stomach with a slight pain, although after Periheth, the little bronze flit wasn’t nearly as bad as before.

"Yes, its a good thing we have the capcity to dry quickly here... with all the nice fires and things. It will really only take a few moments in the rain. Besides, I'm sure you'd rather not go hungry." Amneris glanced at Solo. He certainly would never go hundry if he could help it. She didn't laugh at the other's fears at all, though it might seem comical that someon was that scared of the rain. In fact Neris understood fear quite well herself.
"Here I'll go get some food, make sure its well covered and when I come back I can be all dry and warm in no time. Really, rain is simply water that falls from the sky." She could just imagine thread being much more scary than the rain and she had no doubts that thread would come eventually. Harpers always drilled those lessons into her. Anyway it seemed the other girl would not be convinced that the rain was harmless.

OOC: I'm assuming since it's already been some months since we became Weyrling so... we should all know each other already. Right?
IC: T'riel was coming out from the boys side of the barracks. He had left Werunth with a rather distended stoamch so he was fairly sure that the big brown would not be waking up anytime soon. He just arrived early enough to catch Amneris' offer to get some food for Amoare. He could relate with Amoare having a fear of the rain since he himself had a fear of heights. So far, he hasn't had any fainting episodes when getting near ledges. He would just about die of humilation if the others found out about his fear. However, just so that he'll be prepared for the time that he and Werunth would eventually be doing flying drills, T'riel has started to climb high places and looking about the surrounding area. He made sure that he could look about him and not get nauseous at the rather high perches that he climbs in. Getting back to the present, striving to be a gentleman, T'riel spoke up before Amneris got an answer from Amoare and dash back out again in the pouring rain.
"Laides, why don't I, go out and get the three of us some food instead?" T'riel asked the two. Then turning his attention to Amneris, he said, "I would feel such a bounder if I let you go back out in the rain. You already are soaking wet and you might get a chill should you go back out." Then gesturing at Amoare, he addressed Amneris, "Why don't you keep Amoare some company while I go get the food?" He waited for the laides' decision of his offer to get food.

Amoare couldn’t help but smile at her fellow rider; her friend. She had met many people who would just leave her when it was raining and never think twice of it, but here was Amneris being kind and lighthearted about the matter that had plagued Amoare since she was very little.
“Thank you Amneris.” she said still smiling as she slowly sat back down with Lues. “I can’t exactly explain it… why I’m afraid of it… but thank you.” A sound from her left made the gold rider jump as she turned in that direction.
Seeing T’riel walk in from the boy’s barracks, Amoare blinked at him then looked at the door behind him. She hadn’t heard anyone in there and she found herself wondering how she could have missed the very tall weyrling. Hearing his offer to Amneris, Amoare sat quietly to allow the green rider to make the decision. In any case, Amoare knew she wasn’t going to go out in the rain.

Amneris nearly jumped at the sound of another voice. Spinning quickly on her heel to face the person who had spoken she immediately felt bad for being so nervous. He was just another Weyrling anyway. He was offering to go out in the rain...but she really could do it herself. What was a bit of rain anyway.
"My thanks T'riel. I could always get all of us food... why should you get wet...two people wet could be worse than one. Besides I'm perfectly fine." Solo looked up at her querilously. Flame it... he knew she was being stubborn. This was why the flit had his hands full with her. The little brown showed images of her catching a cold the more she stood there soaking wet.
"I think it would be best if we just let Amoare decide...since we both want to go but don't both need to go." Good thing Fusth wasn't awake to hear her... she'd be a bit angry with her truth be told. How was she to know that T'riel would want to help... besides she was perfectly capable of getting what was needed. "aaaaahhh chooo!" She sneezed rather abruptly.

T'riel was just as glad to have Amoare decide which one of them should go back to get their food. However, before he could wait for Amoare to tell of her decision, Amneris sneezed in the silence and he knew without a doubt that he should be the one to go out despite her... objections to the contatry. But then again, Amoare is in a way... the ranking weyrling of the three of them for she Impressed Gold, Periheth. Still, the gentleman in him refused to let a lady get herself sick when he could very well to the job in a jiffy. So deciding, he said, "That doesn't sound promising Amneris. Why don't you get yourself dried out and sit by the fire?" He looked at Amneris' firelizard hoping he would know what to get for his mistress. She is in need if a big dry towel. he thought to the firelizard hoping the firelizard would somehow hear his thoughts but that's rather unlikely. Then turning to the one person that could help Amneris, "Maybe you could get some dry towels for her?" he asked Amoare. He didn't know if he had the... right to order Amoare around but he figured it was for the good of Amneris' health. "Then, I'll go get the food while you help Amneris get dry." T'riel said. However, be added " Is that okay with you ladies?" before he so much as took a step out of the common area.

Amoare bit her lower lip as the decision was naturally sent her way again. Durring her usual hesitation, however, she found T’riel at her rescue as he ordered her to get a towel for Amneris while he got food. Always having an easier time following orders rather than giving them, the gold rider didn’t hesitate to jump up and agree to his offer.
“That is a good idea T’riel.” she said with a smile that wavered slightly as she looked in the other girl’s direction. Would she be mad that Amoare did not choose to send her for food? Biting her lip again, she ducked into the girls barracks before either could put in another word. Hurrying to her own section, she grabbed one of her larger towels from her small pile and held it to her chest as she paused to wonder if the girl would need anything else. Unsure, she started her way back with just the towel.

Now that wasn't good. She looked at Solo a moment before he gave her a smug, ' I told you so' look. T'riel had made a decision before she could say the sneeze was nothing. One sneeze didn't mean anything and since when had she become incapable of getting her own towel? Before she could protest Amoare had gone off to the girl's barracks. Amneris had always been the independent sort when it came to other people. Even in her singing she didn't need back up. As she waited for Amoare and T'riel to come back she found herself singing a soft song to herself mostly.
Her lovely voice carried throuhgout the cavern nicely and made her feel a lot better. No one could yet understand how theraputic singing was for her. Solo had fallen asleep on her shoulder...a little warm spot there was comforting. Now what was she going to do when Fusth woke up. The little green would be angry with her for being so stubborn. Not like Fusth wasn't stubborn to a fault either.

Amoare paused at the doorway to the common room, just behind the curtain as Amneris’ voice began to sound out in song. A small smile crept to her lips as she hugged the towel closer and listened for a moment. Sighing deeply, she moved the curtain and stepped in, quiet as a tunnel snake in hopes that the green rider wouldn’t stop. Quietly she attempted to make it back to her seat next to Lues, but didn’t exactly make it as Lues had looked up at her and whistled loudly.
Blushing deeply, she brought her finger to her lips. “Shh Lues…” she said softly, “You’ll interrupt!”

Amneris had not noticed the other girl come back with the towel, though she sang quietly she forgot how well voices carried in the caverns of the Weyr. Upon hearing the firelizard, Amneris turned, smiling. "Does he like music?" Solo was fond of sleeping and eating adn being lazy, not so much music. In fact he slept more to music than listened.
She saw the towel Amoare was holding and took it from her, so the other rider wouldn't have to hold it for no reason. She needed to dry and quickly. No one wanted to catch hypothermia. Wrapping the dry towel around herself she replied, "Thank you. Now hopefully T'riel will bring warm food adn drink."
