Kathrein looked with pride at the weyrlings. They were now 3 months old and it was time to assign wings and their first rank knots. She posted the wing rosters on the cork board and then summoned the class to attention. "You will find your posted wing and then decide on a name for your wing. Each Wingleader will select his Wingsecond. You will be presented with your knots this evening at dinner. I expect each assigned Wingleader to inspect his wing to be sure everyone is presentable this evening. When you are presented with your shoulder knot, you will salute the WM, the WMA, and the Weyrleaders. You will then remain standing until all knots are given. After all knots are given all Weyrlings will face the Weyrleaders for a final salute.
J'sue of bronze Saluth / Wingleader N'sond of blue Ensyth Verity of green Ourith T'or of green Secusith A'dlat of green Sobeth
K'lan of bronze Corbith / Wingleader R'sayu of brown Arcusith A'bryn of blue Duroth Zylaera of green Carseith Manora of green Jith
T'mar of brown Siath / Wingleader Y'undo of blue Teloth Hal'on of green Trymuth Sliqua of green Aveoth As'nao of green Ignisuth
Or'in of brown Keth / Wingleader E'mynt of blue Jatrith O'que of blue Gyth Chani of green Versoth
Chani went to the cork board to find her assigned wing. One look told her there might be trouble. All her wingmates were boys.

T’mor and T’mar had all there fingers crossed as they stood at the front of the group of weyrlings. They where still the shortest there and where determined to get first look at the charts. Both where desperate to be together, they had worked so well as a team T’mor seriousness and devout attention to duty balancing out T’mars lackadaisical half hide way of doing things. When Kathrain finally stopped talking the two boys sprinted toward the board T’mar reaching his hand up and running his fingers over the names searching for his and his best and only friend.
His finger stopped momentarily on T’mors as he smiled over at his friend who smiled back before he continued down his face falling with his finger. He was not in T’mors wing… they had been separated… how could they! How dare they! They would pay for this one… his last prank was nothing to what would happen after this… but T’mor was still reading and his hand shot up landing on T’mars name, “Look!” was all he said and that brought the brownriders eyes back to the parchment, “T’mar of brown Saith… Wingleader…? But that’s impossible… after all the stuff I’ve pulled…”
T’mar’s anger melted away to be replaced by pure shock as he walked in a half trace away from the board, T’mor behind him. The green rider was smiling a sad smile, he was as disappointed as his friend at their separation but he was happy (if not a bit worried) about his appointment as Wingleader to his wing. He rested one hand on his friends shoulder making him turn back around to face him before embracing him in a tight hug. Letting go he looked around, no one around, and opened his mouth to talk in his quite but firm voice, “don’t worry T’mar its just Weyrling wings… we will still have classes together and free time, besides you’re a leader now!”
He was smiling so reassuringly and T’mar followed his every word until the end when shock and frustration came back. His voice was much louder then his friends and unlike T’mors it cared, “I know! And what stupid Whery head thought that up! Me! A leader! Yeah right, now if it were you that would make since you’re the responsible one, the thoughtful one, the only irresponsible thing you have ever done is get mixed up with me!” T’mor’s smile was gone in a flash as he glared wordlessly at his friend until T’mar apologized running his hand through his much shorter hair, “sorry T’mor of cores I’m glad you got mixed up with me… but honestly what where they thinking!”
T’mor just shrugged, having said everything he would say, patted his friend on the shoulder, gave him a smile for good luck and walked off to find his own wingleader. T’mar was left along wondering before he leaned against the wall crossing his arms and brooding, “this sucks.” He and T’mor where the same height and the smallest there, they both looked to be about 10 rather then their 14 turns, and on top of his reputation for being a trouble maker how could anyone take him seriously as a leader? And that wasn’t even counting his complete inability to lead a pack of expertly trained dogs down a strait path with fences on both sides… ok so that was an exaggeration but still…

The Weyrling Master watched as the weyrlings found their wings. She could almost read T'mars thoughts by the expressions that crossed his face. She knew he wouldn't like to be separated from his best friend but he was a brown rider who needed to push himself and as long as those two were together she didn't think T'mar would take his training as seriuosly as he aught. She decided making him a Wingleader was exactly what he needed. Siath is a fine brown and his rider will be a good leader. Tath said, as if confirming Kathreins thoughts.

Or'in blinked in suprise as his name was slotted as wingleader of the fourth wing. Brilliant! Well, he wasn't with Verity, and his wing was the smallest, but it was still and excellant result. He was a little suprised though, since Keth was one of smallest browns, but the Weyrling was bright, as was his rider, so hopefully they would do well with this new responsibility. He gave T'mar a thumbs up, he was glad that the yougner boy, his fellow Brownrider, had become a Wingleader as well.
There were three others in his wing, two blue riders and a green. He saw Chani looking at the board too. He guessed sahe might be feelign a little out of place without any other girls, so he was friendly-not thta he was ever unfriendly, "Hey Chani. I Guess your stuck with me. Have you seen O'que or E'mynt around ayhwere. We start picking a name." He said brightly. He was really quite excited with the change. He wished Verity luck as she went off to her own wing. He was pleased that she was with J'sue who was an ok guy, wather than K'lan. He wouldn't ever trust K'lan aroudn a girl-especially not his.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Zylaera smiled at her placing. That just had to be the best wing. Corbith was the larger of the too Bronzes. Their Wingleader wasn't some scrawny thiteen turn old (H'nen didn't apply as a scrawny thirteen year old ) or a love-sick brownrider. Not that she had anything really against J'sue or T'mar or Or'in...but K'lan just seemed so much more of a dragonrider-more wingleader material. Plus they had another Brown on their team and she was with Monara so she would have another friend to chat with.
She waited for the rest of her wing to collect. This could be quite alot of fun.
(OOC: Menta if you will npc E'mynt I will npc O'que. that all right?)
Chani liked Or'in. He had always been nice to her even though they hadn't hung out together much. She returned his welcome with a warm smile. "Oh Or'in, I don't feel stuck, just a little nervous." Don't be nervous mine. This could be fun. A fine brown and two nice looking blues and me with no competition Versoth soothed. Chani's smile turned into a chuckle. "Oh Versoth, I love you. I saw O'que over by the Weyrling Masters office talking with a green rider. Here he comes now." she said.
O'que swaggered toward the board to find his assignment. Chani called to him. "Hey O'que, over here. Have you seen E'mynt? He is with our wing too." Versoth welcomed the three other dragons who would be her wingmates.
K'lan drew his eyes away from the Weyrlingmaster's backside, and looked over the listing. 'Too bad she isn't a gold rider... or at least green. It wasn't right for her to get brown.' The young man couldn't say he was surprised to be wingleader. He rode bronze, what else was there for him?
Corbith added his rumble of approval for the assignment.
'R'sayu of brown Arcusith, A'bryn of blue Duroth , Zylaera of green Carseith, Manora of green Jith.' It was a good combination of dragons. He could only hope the same could be said for the riders. At least the girls sported nice bodies and pretty faces. He turned back around, scanning the room for his wingmates. "Okay, if you're with me, head over to the back table." He saw Zylaera's blonde good looks and grinned. "After you green rider."
A'bryn came into the Cmmon Room to find it full of excitied Weyrlings from his Dragon's clutch. Seeing the boards he realized that they must be assigning wings. That was a cause for excitment, he hurried over to the board, he looked over the sheet seeing who he was placed with. He allowed himself a chuckle,"Hey, K'lan new Wingleader buddy, we got the duo of girls on our wing. He said to K'lan and then turning his attention to the two lovely green riders "Fun, fun, I'm sure you'll be an interesting bunch to work with!" He meant it in a good way, after all women tended to be more devious then men. "You two will be good for the wing, after all men act out of gut, women act with their head." Of course he meant no slight upon his own gender... "Any ideas for a name?" he asked trying to think up an imaginative one. Serches mind, surprisingly, well not really all he see's is blank, blank...blank..., he wasn't creative...
[glow=blue,2,300]*You are amused?[/glow]*Yes, love, I crack myself up. Are you pleased with the wing? [glow=blue,2,300]*Yes, I am sure Corbith will be a good leader. And the others will be good wingriders. [/glow]
((Hey guys I adopted A'bryn! Just thought I'd let you all know!))
((Soudns good))
Or'in smiled at Chani and watched O'que as he walked over. "Hiya O'que." he noticed E'mynt comign of their way, "He's coming."
"Hello Everyone," E'mynt greeted them as he met his new wing. Well, they weren't goignto be the strongest physically of a wing, but it could be a lot of fun anyways. "Chani, O'que and Or'in." He named them all quickly. Jatrith voiced his agreement. You got wings today, thats a big step...one step closer to beign in the Rider's Wings. E'mynt smiled. That was true.
Or'in decided to take charge. "Ok then. nowthat we're all here, how about a name?" He asked," Any suggetions?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zylaera waited as their wing gathered. She smirked at K'lan. She hoped he didn't think was she thought he was thinking...well, at least it wouldn't be that easy "What a gentleman," she said lightly, doing as he said.
She sat down at the back table, waiting for K'lan to begin the meeting, "Alright Bronzer, whats on the table for us today?"

"I hope you are right." K'lan laughed at the blue rider, his bunk had been close to his own when they were still in the candidate barracks. He didn't count him as a friend, didn't know him well enough. But what the bronze rider did know, A'bryn was an alright guy. "Well, as A'bryn put it... how bout a name?" K'lan pulled one of the chairs out from the table and straddled it. "What do we want to call ourselves?" Smirking he shot his eyes over at the blonde green rider. "Just make sure it is nothing too girlie, Zy."

Zylaera shot a look back, the corner of her mouth twitching into a small half smile. She flipped her long blonde hair over her shoudler, surveying the other boys in their group. R'sayu was the Brownrider and A'bryn the blue. "Wells its not like i was going to suggest the Pretty Pink Dragons or something." She said sarcastically. "I don't know. Your our Wingleader...Well, do you have any suggestions." She replied, raising an eyerbrow. She had been, on the whole, a little bit more of a flirtatious, angry, bitchy, teenage girl since H'nen had left. And Impressing Carseith, while wonderful, hadn't really helped on that front. Carseith was as much of a flirt as she was.

T’mar cursed under his breath as his wing, (it felt so wrong to even think that,) gathered around him. Everyone of them was taller then him by at least a hand, even the only girl, Sliqua, was litteraly looking down on him. Grumbling something about a growthspurt T’mar pushed himself off the wall to stand with the others looking at each one who where all, for some reason, looking at him. “What?” he finally asked crossing his arms over his chest, the normally happy boy gone grumpy. As’nao cleared his throat shifting a little nervously before saying, “well… your our wingleader so…” he let it trail off as though the answer should be obvious which only served to frustrate T’mar more. “So what? Just because I’m the ‘leader’ doesn’t mean you guys can’t choose a name.” The green rider smiled weekly but the girl finally spoke, “well what about Lurto the lightning Breathers.” T’mar grined alittle at that, perhaps this could be fun after all. But the blue rider scoffed, “that is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.” The girl put her hands on her hips glaring at the boy, “Well you think of something then!” “Fine I will… how about… Cruzos the Bringer-of-Ashes!” he looked very pleased with himself but Hal’on shook his head. “That is just as bad as hers something more like, Chazor wing.” “No no that isn’t any good eather…” T’mar listened quiet for once in his life as they threw names at each other only saying something when they seemed to be coming to a reasonable conclusion in order to fan them into arguing again. His grin was down right evil and his miss matched eyes glinted wickedly, if T’mor had been there he would have elbowed him into stopping but he wasn’t and T’mar continued goading Hal’on into shouting at Y’undo… ((names curtesy of rumandmonkey.com/widgets/toys/namegen/3267/ name generator))

A’bryn smiled charmingly, he liked this Zylaera she had, ahem, a fiery personality. It was quite amusing to see their Wingleader under the assault of a very sarcastic mouth. “Nothing wrong with Pretty Pink Dragons, pink is a faltering color on some people,” there was subtle hint that Zylaera would look good in pink. “What about, Acies? Aduro? Divinus? Volatilis?” He said just shooting out whatever popped into his head.
((Acies means keenness, edge, sharpness, battle-line, battlefield, aduro means to set fire to, burn singe, kindle, light, divinus means divine, sacred, and volatilis means winged, flying, swift, rapid, fleeting, transitory…these are words I got off of a Latin words list thingy…))

Zylaera smiled at A'bryn, "Well thanks, but i think your names are better." She liked him off the bat. Her best friend was a bluerider anyways, too bad he was at Sodalis. She thought abnout his ideas, "They are all pretty good, maybe Acies or Volatilis. They're kinda cool." She turned to her wingmastes, "Whatcha guys think? K'lan?" She asked ther Wingleader.
He obviously had the final say in it. "Any one else got any suggestions?" She looked at Monara and R'sayu. Maybe they would be finished with this meeting in time for her to write a quick letter to H'nen and send it off with her flit before chores started.

(OOC hey since we are fast forwarding I think it might be pointless to continue this thread. All the charries are now 7 turns old so if you play one of them don't forget to update their bios. You might have to get with Dizzy about this idea but all the player charries that were assigned as wingleaders of bronze dragons might be able to get permission to be a wingleader in one of the new weyrs.
I'm not trying to make more work for anyone but all the current weyrlings are going to have to be reassigned to fighting wings and I have no idea where to place them.

((OOC, i agree. Just a point, the new Weyr only has 4 wings, two are NPC. The two played by players are E'mion and T'sum i think so they're taken. Also, the Bronze wingleader Weyrlings would still be in their early to mid-twneties in 7 turns, prolly too young to be Wingleaders. So besides that can we pick which wing we would liek to have our Weyrlings in after graduation? ...hehe since i have two.))
