Dy'los was incredibly bored. He nodded wehn the Weyrlingmaster praised his answer, but showed no further interest in the subject. He knew all this already. His parents and the creche nannies and his sister...his sister-and the candidatemaster had tought him this.
He took out a scrap piece of hide and wrote, covering it up with his hand so as not to draw attention to it- 'Hey H'nen. Boring lesson hunh? Watcha doing after class?' Then he folded it and slid it quickly and silently across the table to the blue rider, hoping that M'larain father hadn't noticed.

H'nen took the hide and read its contents in his lap. Every so often pretending to show interest in the lesson. He took his own quill and began to write back. Yeah, dragons are lucky. They miss the boring lessons. After class I have no plans. Are you doing anything? He passed the note covertly back to Dy'los.
At least he wasn't the only one who felt like this lesson was a waste of time. 'Lifes too short'. He looked at Amneris who of course had to ask a question just so he could hate her for prolonging their lesson. What a wherry headed fool. Girls loved to ruin things.... that was H'nen's opinion of course but still they caused more trouble than boys did.

M'larain raised an eyebrow at Amneris. "There's one of you in every bunch," he sighed. "If you do that, the Weyrleaders think I haven't done my job, and then I get to not be Weyrlingmaster anymore. And I love my job almost as much as my dragon." A rumbling was heard outside, and Helliath disagreed. "Well, he doesn't tink so, but I do. So just don't do it, eh, Amneris?" He rolled his eyes. Greenriders.
They're only good for catching in Flight.
Agreed. M'larain grinned at that thought. Outloud, he said, "Well, if there are no more questions, legit or not," he looked at Amneris pointedly, "Then you are all dismissed. Enjoy your extra afternoon time, and don't be late for tomorrow's lesson."
((HG, did you ever notice that my pic for M'larain is a Johnny Depp I photoshopped older, and your picture for H'nen is a younger Johnny Depp? Interesting stuffies!!))

T'riel listened attentively to M'larain as he explained the need to be respectful about their elders. He wondered about that as M'larain stopped speaking towait for questions. T'riel was polite to his elders most of the time but respectful? Well, he did have respect for those few people that he deems are worthy of respect. He haven't seen anybody unworthy as of yet but who knows... He haven't been here in this weyr for long and he certainly haven't gotten to know everybody yet.
You wouldn't make trouble for yourself would you, Mine? Werunth asked a little disturbed with the way T'riel's thought were going.
Oh don't worry Werunth. I'm not about to disrespect anyone. I'm just wondering that's all. T'riel. And since he couldn't stop wondering, he also voiced out his question. "And what if that person is not worthy of our respect, what then?"

Amoare found herself silently wondering at Amneris' question, but did not show it as she listened to the answer. She was ready to be gone from here, ready for something to do beside lessons, bathing, oiling and feeding. The young gold rider was ready for something fun to do. Lightly brushing her gold's mind, she let out a sigh as she found the dragon still asleep. Well if she couldn't use Periheth to ask if anyone in the room was up for something after class, she'd just have to ask them herself. It had seemed that since she impressed the gold, all of her old weyrling friends acted much differently around her. Everyone did.
Hearing that they were dismissed, she smiled and gathered her few things before standing and turning to look around the room at the retreating backs as they left out the back. Just as she was leaving a question rang out, and she paused, a little surprised at it. Finding herself at a loss of words or thought, she glanced back at the weyrling master waiting his reply before leaving the class and seeking out something to do.

"I'm not asking you to respect everyone here at the Weyr," the Weyrlingmaster said, grinning. "Faranth knows I don't. But that doesn't mean you have to openly mock or scorn them, though some of the riders here do." M'larain shook his head, thinking of a select few men. "You could just ignore them and stay away from them. Or, if they directly rank over you, such as your wingleader, you can just do what he says and gripe about it later. But it is really up to you, I'm just warning you against trouble making."

Dy'los wrote back. Nothin' either. Wanna go get a bubbly or something, or maybe go down to the river and see if we can nab a few fish, after? He slipped the small qaure, now with several lines of skratchy black pen all over it, back to H'nen. He glanced at Amneris. he tried to hide a smile. He kidna of liked her atitude, although he had been riased in the Weyr well enough to know those rules alreayd and probably wouldn't dare ask the Weyrlingmaster such questions. He did have a little sense.
He jumped up as they were dismissed and walked over to H'nen. "So, you game? Any one else you wanna bring along?" He asked. He hated sitting still for even a short lesso nliek thta and was itching to go and do somethign a little less stuctured.

H'nen read the slip ignoring what was going on in the room around him. Though he wondered why others felt the need to extend class longer by asking foolish questions. He was glad he was raised at Lateo. Weyr raised Weyrlings understood everythign already. There was no need to explain details to them.
He glanced up after people were getting up. "I'm game. Shoudl we invite other Weyrlings?" He asked, though a few of them were much too mature for his taste. Perhaps T'riel would want to join them. He seemed a nice enough guy, after their talk the other day. "Wanna see if T'riel wants to join?"
---------------------
Amneris was not going to push the limits alll the time but she needed to know just how far she could get away with things before actually trying to do them. She wasn't a trouble maker per say. She was more curious and a little at odds with authority. Of course she didn't dislike the Weyrlingmaster but the Weyrwoman was a bitch, plain and simple. Revonna was known for that. Perhaops she just didn't understand the woman, but she really didn't care for authority anyway so that was that.
The blonde girl looked over at T'riel as he posed his question. Funny that she had been thinking of Revonna when he asked it. Ahh well, it was coincidental at best. Her mind sought Fusth, wondering how long she would be stuck in class for. She had quite a few things to do. Like what?Fusth asked, determined to get her rider to do somethign with the other werlings rather than be off on her own playing her gitar and singing. Why couldn't she do that with the others around?
Well, you need a bath and then theres feeding, I have chores and then dinner myself and lets not forget I have practice. I don't feel like I need a bath that badly, besides you seem to think I need to be bathed twice a day when once is sufficient. I admit I will need feeding at some point, but you skip chores anyway and since when do you attend practice on nice days? It won't matter. I don't think the others like me right now. I suppose you are right for the most part. 'Dragons... always think they know everything...'

Dy'los nodded, sure, he walked over to the Brownrider, "Hey T'riel, wanna come with H'nen and me? We were thinking of goign to dow nto the river or soemthing." He asked.
Can i come? Well i guess so, but i just gave you a bath. I just want to swim. Ok then. He turned to the other two boys, "And Sewrinath wants to coem so if Betheroth or Werunth do, they can too."

((Menta, there are no pens on Pern. There are feathers with ink. Sorry. HG, the Weyrwoman is Merda. She hasn't been disposed of by that young upstart Revonna yet. ))
M'larain watched his charges file out of the room faster than a firelizard escaping a wherry, and smiled. They really were good kids, even though he could tell he'd need to keep his mind on that Amneris. She seemed a little predispositioned against authority. Hopefully, she would come to understand that that simply wasn't accepted in the Weyr. If a ranking person told her to hop to, she had better do it. The consequences...he didn't like to think about it.
