After checking on Naraleth one more time, Morelia walked down to the Weyrhall. She sat down at the Blood Char table as was proper. However it seemed that tonight she would be dining alone. Berelia was sleeping soundly in the Creche and it was much too late to be disturbing her. In the morning Morelia would try to visit the renegade child.
In the meantime, Morelia placed her coat on her chair and went to fetch herself some food. Standing she contemplated what she really wanted that night. Wherry or Herdbeast? Red wine or White? Usually Morelia knew exactly what she wanted but lately her confidance had fallen a little.
Her age was makin her uncertain and it was clearly begining to show in her every day activities. Some people always wanted to remain young. Morelia was one of those people. The more she thought about it the more doubtful she became. Naraleth was still a young dragon. Dragons could live forever and only died from thread or suicide. Well it was better not to dwell on it ... now there was the choice at hand. The Wherry or the Herdbeast? Red Wine or White?

L'kel walked up to his wingmate Morelia with a goofy grin on his face. That automatically meant something was up. He didn't converse with Green riders unless he had to. an empty winskin hung from his wrist. He was going for a refill of the night. He had been feeling some serious stress lately and was now thuroughly drunk for the first time in turns, probably. Being so big, he wasn't hurling drunk yet...but certainly not in his usual senese.
"Morrrelia," He said rolling the r a little on his tongue. "You shhhould choose the whiite. Its quite good. I had just a litt-little taste of it earlier." He cotniued smiling widly. If most of his Wingmates were to see if they probably would have mistakn him for some long lost brother. L'kel didn't smile on a regular basis.
He leaned against the counter, facing Morelia. He would no doubt get seiously reprimanded for his drking binge, but he wasn't in the mood to care. He moistened his lips qith a wet tongue, "Sho Morelia, what have you been dooing reeshently?"

At first Morelia was a bit shocked to see L'kel in his present state, then she really wanted to laugh. Smiling sweetly she wanted to show him what he looked like so badly. If only the rest of the wing were here. Trying to be partly serious, "Well it is a suprise to see you L'kel. I am partial to white myself generally, but if I choose herbeast for dinner it would be best to go with the red..." She trailed off still trying to make a decision.
"Perhaps I should have red with dinner and white with desert." At that she grinned merrily and ran a hand through her brown hair. She didn't generally talk with bronzers on a normal basis, as a rank issue, except when Naraleth was flown by one. That wasn't very often in itself as she was partial to browns and the occasional sweet talking blue.
"Mainly I have been working out and practicing drills. Naraleth and I must keep in shape if we are to remain at the top." Morelia wondered if he realized how much more competition a green had to be in the Weyrleader's wing. "Greens do have the most competition...since there are more of them. How about yourself?"

L'kel grinned, an actual sincere grin. For, although it was foolish, it was probably the only one in turns that was a full-on, honest to the egg, smile. "Thats sshounds lie ka good idea too me." He shook his head a little. he was feelign a little wierd...now why couldn't he remember why.
He glanced, with twinkling eyes, at the green rider, "Oh, Zyth and I have been working very hard. We want to be Weyrleader sssome day, sho we train very very hard." He would probablybe very agnry at himself when he discovered he had spilled out what he often tried to keep locked away, "Yesh Greens do have the most competition. But they're nice. Very nice. Speedy little things too. Zyth flown at least half a dozen of em...i think or maybe thats 1, 2." He began counting on his fingers but soon gave up. When sober, L'kel tried to keep as didstant from anyone below a bronze rank as possible. Things were better that way...thats what he thought...when sober.

Morelia smiled a little. She decided on the red wine for the moment sipping the slender glass occasionally. L'kel was certainly out of sorts. Thinking for a moment she realized the Bronzerider was probably having a hard time standing.
"Shall we sit down?"Morelia dropped in to the conversation casually. Heading for the Blood Char Table. "Well I have no doubts that our wing trains more heavily individually than any other. Each of us for our own reasons of course." Morelia wondered which Queen he wanted to fly. Well if he was staying at Sodaris then it would ahve to be Ryolinth.
"How do you plan on cathing the Queen dragon. We all know Revonna can be a bit tempermental, if not a bit harsh." Morelia always spoke the truth no matter how rude it was. She had nothign nice to say about the Queenrider, and probably never would. "That is assuming you want to be Weyrleader at Sodalis."

L'kel sat down gratefully. The floor was spinning a little, and he was feeling dizzy. One of his little dreadlocks slipped into his eye, but he barely noticed. "Of course, our wing is the best!" His speech was begining to improve.
His eyes shown brightly at Morelia's question, "Certainly Rylonith. Wonderful Rylonith!" He almsot fell off his chair at the Greenriders next comment. Instead he stood up quickly and knocked it to the floor. He was angry suddenly, and no doubt looked a bit scary at his huge height. "Revonna is an amazing Weyrwoman! The best one their ever was! She is a radiant woman." He spoke passionatly now. "Oh how i love Revonna!" He then slumped back into his chair, the red fury dying out ogf his eyes.
He would be kicking himself when he realized what words had slipped out. Over the last few turns the most indepth information he had released about himself was his favorite color for dress clothes. He was not a ver y "sharing" person. He put his hand to his head a little, "Oh...i don't feel so good." He offered a weak smile to Morelia. "Maybe i had just a wee bit to much o' wine."

I think he has lost it. She will despise him for ever saying that. Its sad, they are both very serious people. Be nice, he is having a bad night. When someone else is at their weakest, we should help them and say nothing. I agree darling.
"Well, to a man, no doubt her beauty and strength is appealing. I speak merely from a greenriders point of view." Watching his face she quickly finished some of her food. He was going to need help. She should take him to the latrines first then to his weyr.
"You don't look so good either. Let me help you get better..." She guzzled down her wine. (she was going to need it)Then helped him up by placing her slender shoulder under his arm. "Lets go get washed up before you get a good nights sleep."

L"kel nodded sutifully. "Thankyou so much Morelia." He paused, as some rational thoughts pushed their way into his heasd, making it hurt even more. "I don't understand though, I have always been...well, not very nice to you." He stood up shakily, even her small bit of support halped him. He gave her one of those smiles, that would have shocked his Wingmates, and stumbled with her, wherver she was taking him. He couldn't quite remember wha tshe had said exactly.

"Well just so you know, I haven't always been nice to you either. Its mutua" She thought for a moment or two." Tomorrow you caan treat me just the same and I won't think anything of it." Then came that smile, and she was almost undone.... he was handsome when he smiled like that. Morelia could have flamed herself. What am I thinking? He is a wingsecond and a bronze rider... I hate BRonzers.... I wouldn't mind having a brnze fly me... why should you? Thats draconic logic for you... Well, dear heart, I would assume thats because he obviously is in an abnormal state right now and saying and doing things he would not normally. I don't want to take advantage of the situation and besides... he is cocky, and in love with Revonna who, might I add I also dislike.
Once at the Latrines, Morelia helped him into the men's side. "Now you should try to relieve yourself before we take you home.." She turned from him letting him have privacy.

Most of what Morelia said flew out his ears, but he got he gist. He did as she said until he felt sufficiently more relieved. He heard a rather fuzzy, ringing voice in his head. You feel all funny. You are making my head dizzy....are you with Naraleth's rider? L'kel frowned a little, My head doesn't feel good either. I drank a little too much. Now why, recently, are you so taken with Naraleth. What is wrong with Rylonith? Rylonith isn't always nice to me. i like greens. But thats just it...green equals greenrider. I don't like greenriders!
He walked back over, slightly less stumbly the before, to Morelia. "Ok. I'm alright now. Thanks. If you wouldn't mind taking me back to my weyr, i don't know if i would be able to find my way." At least he was speaking properly now.

Morelia thought for a moment, yes she had had more than him to drink on several occasions. Of course she enjoyed herself too much at gathers and then there were Hatching Feasts etcetera. Naraleth was still awake lying on her ledge, star gazing as she liked to do. The dragon was odd in that ,though like all dragons she lived in the moment and not for the future, she took time in the moments to look at the small things. Morelia... there are some lovely stars out tonight. I thought we were going to go to the lake... Well, as much as I want to spend all my time with you, L'kel needs a bit of help getting back to his weyr. Remember when I drink a lot of wine and feel kind of dizzy... I remember. It wasn't that long ago. Mnemozyth is a very strong bronze. I can't believe you are helping L'kel, after what he says about greenriders... As an older and might I add more considerate rider it would be morally wrong for me to have left him in the Weyrhall where the rest of the wing could ahve seen him. He is a very proud man which explains why he doesn't talk to us much. Well I like the dragon better than the rider. Mnemozyth is generally nice to greens... I bet its cause your so pretty... now if you don't mind darling I need to help him. I will try to get back in time to do some star gazing with you. If Berelia should happen to come by, let me know... "Yes, you do seem to be feeling a bit better. I'm no healer but I have been worse off than you on several occasions." At that statedment she smiled fondly on the memories. "The one thing I recommend is to drink a couple glasses of water before you pass out...otherwise you'll end up with the most massive headache you have ever had." She put one of her long arms around his waist in a casual looking way, though she was really doing it to support him. Passersby would never know the other was drunk.

L'kel didn't object as Morelia slipped her arm around his wait. He needed all the help he could get. "Yes I better do that. We have some tough drills tomorrow. I need to be in top shape." If he ever wanted to lead a wing, he would have to show how great a wingsecond he was. I am coming to the weyr Zyth. You are making me feel very sleepy and clumsy mine. Please don't do this again. I don't plan on it. His Dragon's voice was sounding almost smug and rather shepish, You know that you are being aided by a greenrider?don't remind me. You should more. They are very nice. i have decided...i want to fly the next green i like that rises. i like many greens. Stop torturing me! I feel horrid. The huge bronze chrotled in the wingseconds mind.
Bloody Fall! Could things get any worse?

Morelia watched the man's conflicted face. Of course this went against everything he wanted. As a Bronzerider and Wingsecond, he had a hard time accepting help from greens. Naraleth was thoroughly enjoying Morelia's inner disdain. For one thing she hated Bronzers for another she hated haughty people. Why am I so good natured toward my wingmates? I could have left him in the Weyrhall. Morelia you are a good person thats why you do these things. When he is sober he will not thank you for helping him, but maybe he will have a better view of greenriders. I hope not. Why? I think he should be his normal self and not have been at all changed by my small gesture of trying to be a good wingrider and aquaintance. I could scarcely leave my own wingsecond in the Weyrhall drunk where everyone could see him. Anyway, no doubt this is a matter of pride to the Bronzer. I always knew you were intelligent. Very funny... "I'm sure you will be in great shape. You work very hard." Morelia stated as fact. She did keep track in her mind who she saw spending the most time training. He was one of those workaholics, much like herself lately.

L'kel sighed but gave a grateful smile to Morelia. He was too tired to be condescending and haughty. He was feeling extremely sleepy now and he could feel his dragon slipping away for him. Goodnight mine.I'll be up for a small bit longer but g'night Mnem. His dragon yawmed and bronze eyes fluttered down.
"It seems Mnemozyth has passed out even before I." He studied her for a second, "Well thankyou. I certainly hope drills go well. You know...i've seen you training double as well." He couldn't denie that she worked hard. They made it to his room and he settle down gratefully on his couch. He looked at the green rider and was sort of unsure. The last time he had a woman in his room was...well he couldn't really remember. He wondere if she was going to stay with him a bit or go. He wouldn't mind talking a while. While he was in his wyer no one would be able to see that he was talking to a green rider.

"Naraleth generally goes to bed before I do, though she is up first too." Morelia flashed a smile his way and decided to be more friendly since he seemed to be in the mood for conversation. "I used to think I was simply trying to make my father proud by working harder and longer hours than anyone else, but I have come to realize he was always proud of me, since I was a little girl. Now I know that I am working hard to prove something to myself." She commented on the hard work. "I have always made sure Naraleth was in perfect condition. You know how lazy dragons can be if left to their own devices." I heard that you ungrateful woman! I thought you were going to bed... Your conversation has begun to interest me. Have you never heard of privacy. This is a conversation between myself and another rider...you are not to say a word. And don't go telling your boyfriends that I was here tonight either. Then tehir riders will know and it will be a scandle. No one will fly you... Well if you put it that way... I am. You should turn in darling. We have a rough day ahead of us. Knowing L'kel its going to be a rough day. Send a message to Bera for me, say I said goodnight and want to take her to dinner tomorrow. It is done.
"L'kel, do you need anything else?" she asked in all seriousness. Her own morality made her not ask whether he needed help getting to his bed. She wouldn't want to make him feel akward.
