S’hon was glad to hear the slight change of tone as the subject was changed from her attitude and rule braking to her wanting a Lizard. Though he still preferred his own lonely company to that of anyone, let alone this girl he staid to talk to her, for just a wile longer he told himself, after the conversation with Daine he seemed to be changing a bit and in his opinion not for the better. Half the time he was willing to hold a conversation, like now, which he had never wanted to do before and the other half of the time he was down right rude ignoring people altogether and leaving rooms when ever someone new came in.
“She doesn’t have a name,” he said in reference to her question about the lizard. As for her the little green rubbed right up against the girl’s outstretched hand completely trusting and rather nave, “everyone calls her something different. Like Runt, Little One, or Lizard.” The green nodded at the girl to support her loves statement and to show that she was proud of having so many neat names, again very nave.
S’hon crossed his arms and continued to watch his little green feeling a little dread at what he finally realized about her, “I don’t know of any clutches.” He continued to watch the green as she now perked up her head and jumping up began to fly circled around the girls head and then his and then doing flips in the air. “but it seems this little one might be flying soon,” he wasn’t sure how to offer the girl an egg never having done it before and knowing now that she despised him as so many others did, not that that mattered to him in anyway. “as for giving eggs away most in the weyr chant afford to have more then one or two lizards so they are happy to give away eggs”

"Oh," she said, surprise apparent on her features. "I see." Shereae watched as the agile little green began to turn flips in the air, and she smiled and laughed at the green's antics. "Well, you must be an alright kind of person, Lizard seems to like you well enough." Shereae grinned at S'hon and stood up from where she sat, dusting herself off. "It would seem that I never properly introduced myself," she said, sticking out her hand politely. "My name is Shereae, and I am a Gold candidate."
As she looked at his face, the moonlight reflected off of the lighter flesh of his scars. She realized, though she hid it with tact, that he could see out of but one eye. Interesting, she thought. Having never really met a person like this, she was rather inquisitive, but she decided to ask no questions yet, and see if she could figure out what this man was about.

Doubly pleased at this turn in conversation and the drastic improvement in her attitude S’hon almost smiled… almost, he wasn’t frowning disapprovingly anymore that was good but S’hon never really smiled. Seeing her stick out her hand for a shake S’hon took a step back, not rudely as but just to give him room to give a slight bow at the waist his hand held horizontally in front of his chest, as a courtly man would do to a fine lady. She didn’t need to know that he hated being touched in any since of the word. “it is my pleasure Shereane,”
Still in the air the little green lizard landed on S’hon’s shoulder and mimicked his bow before flying off again to land on the girls shoulder. Now that the introductions where complete she didn’t seen anything wrong with studying every nook and cranny of Shereane’s upper body. Crawling in her hair and sticking her surprisingly warm nose into her ears and under her chin the little green crooned and squawked with every new discovery.
Groaning S’hon ran a hand though his long black hair in a nerves frustrated habit, “Runt Quit doing that it’s rude.” But there was no point she just picked up her head tilted it giving a questioning squeak and then catching sight of something unexplored on the girl, her under arms in this case, dove right back into the search.

Shereae giggled as the warm nose tickled her neck and ears and the penta-dactyl claws scratched through her thin tunic. The lizard found her underarm, and Shereae fell over iwth laughter. "That's my most tickly part!" she exclaimed between gasps for air. Seizing the ornery little green fire-lizard, she held her in her lap and stroked her eye ridges and back, noticing for the first time how very green she was. "Is that how you tell when they're going to fly?" she asked. "They become bright colored? They don't explain much in Candidacy. I guess they don't want to get our hopes up," she explained.
"I had a canine on the hold, but he was mainly for herding the herdbeasts. Sometimes I wish I could have brought him. I guess that's also why I really want a fire-lizard," she said, babbling to the older man. Realizing what she was doing, she became quiet. "Sorry," she said. "Sometimes I talk so much that my company can't get a word in edgewise."

S’hon groaned quietly again as the little green found the girls more ticklish part and she dissolved into a fit of laughs and giggles. Sitting down across from her S’hon just contented himself by listening to her talk and watching the green now completely basking in the loving attention. “Well as I don’t like to talk all that much I don’t mind if you break the silence.” S’hon was a listener and only ever talked when he had something important to say or like in this case he was asked a question.
“Yes that is normally how you tell with greens and some golds, that and they get really proddy, but I don’t think this green would be moody if her life depended on it.” The little green squeaked contently and let the girl rub her some more although what she really wanted to do was make her laugh again, that was fun… it just felt too good sitting hear to want to move right away.
S’hon continued to explain a bit about flying dragons and lizards not realizing until half way though his rant that he was talking way more and much nicer then he ever did to anyone but Maz. “unlike green dragons green lizards lay eggs after they fly, though unlike the golds they only hatch none metallic lizards… you don’t have a color preference as fare as lizards go do you?” You should give her one of Little Ones eggs maybe…. what else are you going to do with them?sell them to holders inland… that is really mean my heart S’hon didn’t answer, if she wanted a metallic the little green could not give her one but if she didn’t mind a green of her own or even a blue then perhaps…

"I think I'd like a blue best," she said. "Blue is one of my favorite colors, and they seem so reliable." She continued to pet the green, pleased with how this conversation had taken a turn for the better. When she next looked at him, his eyes looked out of focus. Even Shereae knew this was the tell-tale sign of bespeaking a dragon. Not really being one to butt into other's conversations, she did't mention it, but just looked down at the tiny dragon in her lap. "You're very pretty," she told the flit, talking to it like she would a foal.
"So, S'hon, how did you come to be at the Weyr?" she asked, still not sure if he liked her questions or just thought she was a nosy git. "Have you always lived here?"
Her mind wandered back to the search for eggs, but she almost instantly decided that this endevour was a lot more rewarding. Having not had much chance to speak with the riders of the weyr, this was just the opportunity she needed to really feel out what it was like to be a rider. So far, all she had done were chores, and from the rumours she had heard, most riders did not do chores. They were able to do things like wash their dragons, fly on their dragons, and talk to their dragons. Rider life, she supposed, had much to do with dragons and little to do with anything else. Her father had always told her, "Dragonriders are a people apart, Shereae." Of course, he had always issued a warning after that, mostly when she was a child, threatening her with having a rider come pick her up and haul her off if she behaved badly. She smiled a bit at this memory.
Suddenly, she thought of another question to ask the man. "Have you been here long, S'hon?" She was finding it difficult to determine the man's age in the moonlight.

Questions, questions, questions why did people always have to ask the anti social people questions? But then again he supposed that he could answer these… he didn’t have to give her all of the details to his past, to exactly what had happened when he was searched. “I was searched from the northern continent, when I was 14 turns, when I was still an apprentice at the beast craft hall. That was about 14 turns ago.” your being offly talkative S’hon did not reply he was trying his best not to picture his search day as it continued to try and play through in his head once again. She didn’t need to know where his scars came from.
The little green purred at the complement and hearing her like for blue flits lifted her head with a mix of indignanty that she did not like greens and pleasure that she could lay eggs that would please this very nice girl that new how to pet in just the right places. She sent the girl a faint picture of a hatching blue flit, but it was just a flash, the green not being attached to her and not being particularly intelligent.

Abruptly, a flash of something blue popped into Shereae's head, and she looked around to try to locate the source of the blue, not realizing it had jsut been a pictured. "What was that?" she wonderd aloud, still glancing around. "Did you see that?" she asked S'hon, upset that she couldn't find the blue that had flashed by her. It could have been a firelizard headed to a hatching. Shrugging, she dismissed the image as long gone.
"But if that was fourteen turns ago...you must be at least...twenty-eight?" she asked, quickly figuring in her head. She kept prodding, unsure of exactly how subtle she was being, because she wanted to know how old he was. "How old were you when you Impressed Mazbeth?" she asked. She didn't think she had had the pleasure of meeting Mazbeth, and she hoped she would. Not knowing hardly any dragons except her uncle's, she was interested in meeting and knowing all of them.

S’hon had seen the picture as well though because he was attached to the lizard who made it, it had shown more clearly in his mind. “That was a picture sent to you by the lizard, it was of a blue hatchling.” he wasn’t looking at Sherean though but at the little flit, studying her movements and noises. When he spoke next it was in a slightly quieter voice, “perhaps you could have one of her eggs once she clutches.” that seemed to be what she wanted, why else would she have sent the picture to the girl?
He looked up to her face at the mention of his age, Why did it mater? Oh well he had already dug himself into a deep enough hole he might as well continue, “I was 14 so you are correct I am 28 until winter in the north.”

"Hmm," Shereae replied. "I would like to have one of this little beauty's eggs." She looked down at the little green lizard, and whispered to her playfully. "Yes! Yes she is, she's so pretty! Pretty girl!" Shereae had had few chances to play with fire lizards before, and she may have been getting a wee bit over excited. "Winter in the North is Summer here in the South, I've heard...so your Turnday is coming soon! At my hold, we always celebrated Turndays. One year, my mother made a terrific blue tunic for me and my father got me a new pair of boots to match," she told him. It was late, and she was tired. When she got tired, her tendency to babble hightened considerably. "What would you like for your Turnday, S'hon?" she asked. If he was going to give her a firelizard egg, then she wanted to give him something. And she almost considered him a new friend, though he was much older than she.

turn day present... him? S’hon looked off into the distance into the depths of the black rolling water of the ocean. “Sleep.” he said quietly then speaking louder mostly to hide the fact that he had thought out loud again, “I don’t really need anything, but thank you.”he hadn’t had a turnday party for 14 years since the day he left the north, though his brother did send him letters using the little one. They had acedentaly met when S’hon was thinking about his brother and the little green went to find him.“That is a nice gift, if they still fit you should were them to the hatching feast.”
It was getting late and Shereae needed to be in bed if only to avoid getting into trouble. S’hon now had more things to think of before he retired again. And yet he did not move from her company, the last company he had, had was Daines and that meaning had been anything but pleasant. Though he wouldn’t consider this too pleasant either.

"Maybe I will," Shereae mused aloud, absentmindedly scratching Lizard. "In any case," she said, standing and picking the green up with her, "would you mind accompanying me back to the Weyr?" She held the Lizard, unsure of what she would want to do. "It's about past my bedtime and I hear there are interesting chores scheduled for tomorrow," she added, grimacing. The butchering had been hard work, but what if they wanted her in the Records Room tomorrow? That wouldn't be so good. Using a free hand, she dusted off her behind and legs and rolled her neck as she yawned. "I guess I'm more tired than I thought!" she exclaimed quietly, for there was no reason to yell this finding. She faced the Weyr. "Shall we?"
Reflecting on the evening's peculiar events, Shereae found herself thoroughly pleased with how she had handled the newly met stranger. She wondered what he though of their little conversation and wondered what he thought of her. Never having been one to care much about image, she was still interested to know his opinion. Probably much like everyone else's, she thought. Occasionally loud, a bit of a pill, but overall nice enough.

S’hon Stood quickly as Shereae moved to get up, it was a habit drilled into him to rise when a lady rises no mater the lady or the sercomstances. He did not offer to help her up however, not wanting to touch anyone. The green allowed the girl to carry her up but once she was standing the green flew up onto her shoulder and wrapped her tale around the girls neck to stay steady. “It would be best if you had an escort.” what with it being after hours and out of bounds and all, but he was not about to piss her off again.
He waited for her to start moving towards the weyr and followed just behind her, walking in silence and deep thought once she was dropped off and in bed he would probably just have to finish his run, after getting a shirt.
