Amorae rubbed a little more of the pleasant smelling oiling into her golden lifemate's hide. She con centrated on oiling a well dried patch of the bright, sun-shiny hide. [[Is that getting better. I'm so sorry for letting you get that.]]
{{It is understandable. You are being asked to do a lot.}} Periheth replied.
[[Don't give me that drivel! I need to keep taking care of you first, nearly everything else second.]] Amorae snorted.
The gold simply stayed where she was as her rider moved about her, oiling her hide to a nice brighter sheen. Her great big head swung up to bugle a greeting to a new arrival to the river.

Kaunth bugled back. Hello, golden beauty. What a pleasure it is to see you on such a fine day, he complimented. Just because things had grown somewhat frosty between his rider and hers didn't mean he had to be rude to the younger dragon. He had still won her mating flights two times, and Fall it, that counted for something.
P'resh sighed. He, himself, wasn't quite sure why he continued to seek out a relationship with this female. He was thirty-two now. And she was, at twenty-three, occasionally more like Revonna than Revonna ever was. And P'resh was...less than fond of her. Secretly, he hoped Merda never died, because when she did, there would be Fall to pay around the Weyr. And P'resh didn't like anyone.
He rocked back on his heels before coming over the threshold of the hill. Thoughts filled his mind: memories of the whirlwind romance between them, now seven years prior. Amazing what two miscarriages and a friendship with a woman P'resh reviled could do to the sweet, innocent sixteen year old girl Amoare had once been. The man had never liked anyone, romantically or platonically, until she had come along. He'd had no friendships and was in more than one or two arguements, though nothing the bronzerider couldn't handle.
But now the girl seemed always distracted, and strange ghosts often flitted behind her eyes, as if other thoughts filled her head when she was with him. Even as hard-headed as he often was, P'resh himself had to admit that things had grown rather stale between them. He almost wished Periheth would have another than Kaunth.
He came over the hill top and saw the girl and her dragon. "Hello, Amoare," he hollered, announcing his presence before she saw him.

Amorae couldn't help feel a little annoyed at the bronzerider. She couldn't just ignore him, and that would be rude. She wasn't rude. Was she? "Hello, P'resh. Kaunth is looking well. How are you?" [[Shard it! Where had that come from?]] Amorae thought silently.
{{Hello, Kaunth. It is a beautiful day today.}} Periheth replied. She fanned her wings a bit before settling on the sand beside the river. She still could not understand why her rider treated Kaunth's like she did. In an asside to hers, {{Relax, Kaunth's is really nice.}}
Amorae turned that thought in her head slowly. The gold was right. She needed to relaxe a bit. She smiled a little bit at the bronzerider.
