Yes, it is that time or soon to be. Early to Mid June to be more exact. We are moving the board ahead... taking that major leap toward First Fall. We need everyone to start wrapping up current threads. (We will continue the wingdrills, and weyrling drills, along w/ the landslide thread until they are finished.) Also, we need you to think about what has happened to your chars in the 7 turns that has taken place during our Fast Forward. Don't edit your previous bios, just repost the additions to them in the joining forum. (this is to make sure everyone has updated. and so we can store the old bios for future reference. ) Look into childern, lovers, weyrmates, injuries, promotions, changes of attitude... all of that. Oh, a side note, I want to make a change to the 'sona forms and I would like it if everyone would follow along w/. Instead of Age, I would like to replace it w/ birthing date: (to get this subtract the chars age from the current turn posted at the top of the board ie: 2401 - 20 = 2381. thought it might make it easier than editing the age when it needs updating.) Keep in mind that Lateo and Sodalis during that 7 turns has founded a new Weyr (it is not yet autonomous) Let us know if you wanted your char to be part of that. Helios and Ignis Wings from Lateo are going, Ardeo is going from Sodalis. Safiya and Mariska are also going.

I have a question or two...
What turn do they found the new weyr so I know what to put in my updated histories. Also are posting birthing turn for dragons as well as riders?

Wow, 7 turns huh. A lot of things may have happened and... is Thread falling by then? Any other major event that we should include in our histories beside the founding of the third new weyr. I mean... there must have been a bunch of hatchings that happened right? Have we started to make ourselves known to the Northern Continent yet? Oh and when do dragonriders retire from their rank? Will the retired dragonriders become watchdragons?

Menta... could ya give a specific example? Or how about this, send me a PM about who you want where and we'll see what we can do.
Side Note: First fall will be a single season away after we get on the other side of the time jump and as soon as that happens the 'new weyr' will return to the old ones they originally came from. So this is not a permanent move! Just keep that in mind.
Hrsegrl... Yeah the year for the dragon could be helpful as well. As for the year we found the turn, I'm guessing it would take us at least two turns to move in if not three. I think three sounds good. What do you think? Go ahead and put three turns from whatever year this is simply due to the slowness of organizing it and preparing the caves out there.
Houka... Yes there are roughly two hatchings for every queen we have a turn. Give or take for the weyrlings who start clutching 2-3 turns in age. THERE WILL BE NO QUEEN EGGS IN THESE CLUTCHES. Just to make sure everyone sees that.
Those dragonriders that wish to retire will simply spend their days on the beach until threadfall. Once at threadfall that will change and they will be dragged back forcibly to do watchduty while the younger dragons are out fighting thread.
THREAD FALL ~ First fall is over Terra Hold. ~ It will have major consequences. Lots of dragons will be lost. ~ We will play this first fall, arriving late except those four-five wings at the new weyrs. These wings will lose the most dragons as four are not enough for one fall. Be prepared to play these losses. This is also the reson for the abandonment of the new weyr. ~ Don't make mention of it in your "seven tur"? bios. It hasn't happened in that span.
THOSE WITH NEW CANDIDATES ~ It has been decided that, more than likely you would like to play out your impression. If that is the case you don't have to worry about aging your candidate and you'll simply 'rewind' your character so that its as if he was searched just before the next gold flight seven turns from now. Does that make sense? ~ Your other option is to have them impress at one of the clutches that will happen during the seven turns. Obviously you won't be able to play out the hatching or the weyrlinghood (unless you choose a clutch from the seventh turn) but an advantage to this is having a better chance at a bronze and also having them old enough to fight thread for first fall. It is completely up to you.
NORTHERN CONTINENT NEWS This has a lot of history to it so I'll try to make it brief. ~ The late weyrleader had been taking bronzers to north about once every two turns just to keep up on news and such. Only the selected bronzers (about six total) know anything about this. I'll have a list of who they were shortly. ~ G'llahar took over and banned any association with north. This move caused a lot of tension between E'mion and G'llahar. ~ E'mion began to sneak behind G'llahar's back to do several missions. One being the theft of some new herdbeasts to strengthen South's heards. Another is to introduce flits to the north in a more methodical way than the rare one or two found by a lucky holdfolk. 60 flits are being smuggled north to the Master Harper to be dispersed to those in power. ~ The Master Harper is the only man in the Northern Continate that knows the truth about the dragon riders. In the 'seven turns' he'll have two or three other harpers who will know a big deal. ~ E'mion uses only men in Helios wing and only brown or bronze riders. I will PM you if you become a part of this. The only exception is Merda, the senior queen of Sodalis. ALL OTHER QUEENS ARE CLUELESS TO THESE HAPPENINGS. ~ I'm still working on what will happen to all of this in the next seven turns. If anything changes or if I think another char or two should be involved I will PM you. If you are interesting in being involved PM me. If you are not in Helios wing or are a pirate in Inbur or Daingean holds then you had better have a fall good reason. *wink*
Umm I think that about covers everything... if there are any more questions, please ask. Make sure to talk to your fellow players as well to find out about interactions with there characters. This is a chance to stretch your wings. And just think! We'll be at threadfall after we make it past all this hard work! Yay! The first pern rpg to play threadfall, now there is something to be proud of. *grins*
Any plotlines you are interested in throwing into the 'seven turns' please PM me. I'm very interested to hear them.
Oh yeah, I'll have the major happenings in the southern holds up for everyone to see (outside of the council room) soon. I?m currently working on north which is a lot trickier! *grins*

Another quick question, when is a dragonrider considered too old to fly in the wing and his dragon too old to flame? I don't think anybody laid rules about that.

Ok...so we add seven turns to the current date, then subtract our characters age IF they are a candidate we want to 'rewind'? I think I understand the concept, it would be like just restarting them, right? Like they hadn't been approved until AFTER the seven turns... I think...

Well technicly the caps were to all of the queen riders just to make life easier on us. Besides, who would want to have a queen and not be able to play its impression? *sticks out tongue at menta*

*grins* The "NO OTHER GOLD RIDERS KNOW" rule was sort of a jibe at me. No one else is to take offence to it. I kinda pulled a Naughty Memorie. *grins wider* But it was fun, and I don't regret it. So there. *sticks her tongue out at E*
"Another quick question, when is a dragonrider considered too old to fly in the wing and his dragon too old to flame?" --Ryuu
People on Pern, esp. riders, healthy as they are, usually live upwards of 100-120 years. That's a long time. I usually take into account that Terrn peeps retire at about 65, which on Pern would be 'round 85-95 turns. However, take ailments into consideration. My Candidate Master, H'mei, will be retiring soon because he has terrible joint ail. So a new rider will soon be named to take the job--keep on the lookout, that is! And also, remember that age is really a state of mind. For instance, Blue's Ollandra is younger than my Merda, by two or three turns, unless I'm highly mistaken....*throws a glance in Blue's direction* And Merda still runs her Weyr with an iron fist, and has no plans of retiring any time soon, because she thinks she's young enough to do it. Ollandra feels old a lot, and she retired even a couple turns ago, unless I am again mistaken. So, while your 83 year old wingrider feels like still going strong, your 69 year old might not. It's safe to allow for difference in personality.
However, an age that is too young to retire really is anything under fifty. H'mei probably won't retire for another seven or eight years...*grins* IE, after the jump. Be on the lookout. I hope that answers some questions.
