Mariska glanced up at the sky, it was good that drills had finished when they did, it looked as if the stormy clouds could open at any minute. The spring rains always were wecome in the south, but practicing with flamethrowers in a thunderstorm wouldn't have accomplished much. It did feel good though, just to be out flying with Kyparla's wing again. You seem in a good mood. Yes, She replied to Zramuth, a hint of surprise in her mindvoice. I am. Training feels good. It feels normal. I understand Said the dragon, and she did, completely.
Mariska removed her helmet and retied her thick black hair, which had slipped during flight. She stretched her arms above her head and walked towards the Weyr entrance. Zramuth was heading back to her hollow in their weyr, for a nap, but Mariska felt like lunch. She had been paying attention to the skies however, and not where she was going. She bumped into someone and and looked up, and apology forming in her mouth, then she saw who it was. "Oh you..." She said, and then realizing how rude that sounded, added "I mean...sorry..."

Corra was as surprised as Mariska to bump into someone. The pregnant greenrider she had been talking with was not however, but her word of warning was cut short. She giggled and then quickly shut up as Mariska addressed Corra. The older Goldrider obviously sounded miffed and her occasional temper was well known. Saying a hasty goodbye to Corra, the greenrider went off to talk with another one of their Wingmates who was headed in the same direction.
Corra automatically stepped back a foot after the impact. Mariska’s height always intimidated her and her gruff greeting didn’t help put Corra at ease either. Things had been different since Mariska had come back. She used to be the Queen’s Wing Second before moving to Muneo and Corra never forgot that. Corra would always think of her as her senior and so was always slightly hesitant as how she should act towards her. She felt guilty about it sometimes but there was really nothing she could do about it except try and get over her own awkwardness.
“I’m sorry, Mariska. I should have been watching where I was going.” The Goldrider did not sound happy to see her. “I was just heading to get some lunch.” Just as she finished her statement, her stomach growled quite loudly.

Mariska regained her composure and eyed Corra. "I as well" she responded. She noted for a moment to herself, hoe strange it was for someone who had been such a stuck up holdgirl, as Corra was, to be chatting with a greenrider. Well people changed...that was for sure. "I'm feeling hungry too." She agreed, training worked up an apetite. Politely she added, "Woudl you like to join me?" She asked, not really wanting to lunch with Corra, but not wanting to be rude either.
"Err...how have things been going for you?" She asked awkwardly, but still managing to sound somewhat imperious.
