Where those of the Weyr come to relax, talk and eat. Riders, candidates, drudges and the like all gather here together. Drudges can serve you your food, or you can collect your choices yourself. The kitchens are to the side of the hall, and it is connected to the lower caverns.

| The Bowl (5 sub-boards)
This is where nearly every outside activity takes place. The grassy plain that makes the second step of Lateo's cliffs, it is expansive-large enough to hold 100 dragons on their feet. On this 'bowl' sits the Weyrhall, kitchen, candidate hall, and the weyrs of those who do not yet have a home chisled out of the cliff face.

A long stone hall that runs down one side of the plain, opposite to the riders. The hall candidates remain in until they Impress or move on . These rooms are located on the plain ('bowl') of the Weyr and are furnished sparsely. There is a girl's barracks and a guy's. Latrines attach to both

| The Rider's Weyrs (5 sub-boards)
Where riders and their dragons reside. These are large stone caverns carved out of the cliff face of Lateo, well-furnished with bed, table, chairs, and a few other items. There is a separate bedroom, and a massive stone couch for the dragon to sleep on. However, not all riders have weyrs carved from the cliff yet, and some still reside upon the plain in stone and mortar buildings. Their dragons sleep outside, in wallows. All riders bathe in the spring.

Where the current Weyrwoman and Weyrleader live. Come here to speak with either of them in private, or if summoned. For now, their rooms are stone and mortar buildings on the plain, for no weyrs large enough have been carved yet.

| The Hatching Sands (3 sub-boards)
Where the clutching dragons of the Weyr lay their eggs. In the center of the large cavern is a massive amount of hot sand that keeps the eggs warm until they hatch. Impressions take place here! Hopeful candidates stand here hoping to Impress a dragonet. This is located in a dormant volcano bed that was found beside Lateo. A path leads from the plain to the entrance.

The hollowed center of the weyr, this is where nearly every outside activity takes place. The rock flooring is where dragons land and take flight. Visitors enter here as well.

| The River
A river, wide and deep enough to submerge two grown bronze or gold dragons, runs through the terraced hills below Sodalis. It is a place where dragons are bathed and oiled by their riders. Also a good place to relax or swim. Numbweed is prepared along it's banks when the season is right.

After a candidate Impresses and becomes a Weyrling, they are moved here with their new dragonet. These small weyrs are slightly better furnished than the candidate rooms, but are still on the ground level. There is a stone couch for the dragonet to sleep on, and a bathing room for the rider.

| Lateo WeyrHold (21 sub-boards)
The first established hold in the south, Lateo Weyrhold boasts the largest population and is located about 200 miles south of Lateo Weyr on the Paradise River. A main supplier of grain to the Weyrs, this hall is known for its vast farmlands and several journeymen farmers, a rare commodity in South.

| Terra Hold (22 sub-boards)
The main mining hall in south, Terra was the second hold established and it holds its head high as it can easily maintain itself as well as export the large amounts of Firestone that the Weyrs demand. Terra Hold is one of the more powerful holds in south.

| Burach Hold (21 sub-boards)
With a decent population and outstanding pastureland, it is no wonder that Burach Hold is the main supplier of Herd-beasts to the Weyrs. Burach also has the ability to boast the largest number of Journeymen Beastcrafters, they?ve even a master in residence.

| Atrum Hold (23 sub-boards)
A fishing old only fifty miles from Lateo Weyr, Atrum holds its own in the fishing business in South. Several good-sized ships, as well as a shipyard where newer vessels are always being made.

Another fishing hold, Caelum is slightly smaller than Atrum, but not by much. While it doesn?t have its own shipyard, it does have a good-sized cove that offers great shelter for the ships that harbor there.

On the other side of the Paradise River, Fotus Hold has much more fertial soil than the pasturelands of Burach. The dark soil is ideal for the vineyards that grow there. While smaller than the older holds, and many of the newer ones, Fotus can brag its strong wine that is claimed to be a rival to Benden?s famous White.

| Sodalis WeyrHold (21 sub-boards)
Established two years before the Weyr, Sodalis Weyrhold is one of the larger holds in South. A main supplier to the Weyr, Sodalis Weyrhold holds both good pasture land and farmland. Its climate, however, is more temperate than that of the more northern holds leaving it with only ideal growing seasons ¾ of the year.

Siursach Hold was established to help ease the strain on Sodalis Weyrhold to provide for the new Weyr as well as to create a second mining hold for the metals demanded in south. The only other hold with a mine, it?s not nearly as extensive as Terra, but still very important to the economy.

Inbur was first established as a port to switch goods from the ocean ships to the river barges that take supplies to and from the Holds there. Growing in size, Inbur now boasts a large shipping dock and it is rumored that some smuggling may occur from this port?

| Vir Hold (22 sub-boards)
A hold almost a thousand miles down the Paradise river, it is the farthest point inland that has been explored west of Lateo. Lush, dense jungles are full of the large felines here making it more difficult to raise heardbeasts. Instead, Vir Hold exports large amounts of the fruits native to South.

| Talmah Hold (21 sub-boards)
A medium sized hold, Talmah is home to the largest logging industry in south. With a rare, dark skybroom their main export, it is no wonder that the hall is lavishly decorated inside with stained wood that covers the walls and floor and make up a large portion of the furniture.

One of the youngest holds in south, Magh Hold has big hopes. Wide open spaces offer grand options for the small hold to grow into a prosperous farming hold that might one day rival Lateo Weyrhold.
